It might rain but I'm still game if others still plan on it. I'll bring hamburger patties and buns. . . . and a bottle of wine.

Got mine this week-end, too!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!

Native Americans who attend the University of North Dakota do not receive free tuition.

I remember GrahamKracker protesting outside the Ralph. I think the number of protesters numbered in the single digits. He was verbally abusive to fans and trying to instigate a fight with fans. Most ignored him, a couple exchanged words with him and 1 or 2 fans in cars yelled stuff at him. He was the instigator but he managed to turn things around and blamed the hockey fans for imagined, unfounded and out and out false abuse. JUST IGNORE THEM!!!!
-
Just look through them. Don't speak your mind, don't share your views, just IGNORE THEM.

I don't know how Buning has done in his role as AD. If he's not done a good job and there's no indication that he can do a good job, he should be let go. I do know that members of this forum were royally po'd that a 'UND' family member was not hired as AD. I do know that when Buning hired the current women's hockey coach a SS.com member was screaming for his termination. I do know information has been posted here that according to KEH's post should not have been made public until the University released the info. For example, a private email sent by Lennon to Martinsen was posted almost verbatim on this sports forum the same day it was sent out. I can only speculate on this one but I truly believe that since the day he signed on as UND's AD, Buning's days were numbered.

I think it's a great gesture. I hope it works. On the Navajo reservation, the Navajo people are very traditional but I see the new generation moving away from their traditions. One of those traditions was explained to me as follows, A 40 something woman (and those listening said they had the same tradition growing up) told me that as a child her father would get all his children up before dawn daily, rain or shine. He than had them run east to meet the sun as it came up. By doing this, they would get the blessings of the 'holy ones' (spirits?) who were also welcoming the sun. Those that slept in were subject to illness, bad luck and poor productivity. This tradition, as you can see, promotes health through it's cardiovascular work out. Unfortunately, this tradition is not widely practiced, in town anyway. If giving Native Americans Nike workout shoes to promote exercise will help them back to this type of tradition, JUST DO IT!! It's your tax dollars that are supporting Indian Health Services. Why knock it?? Edit: And, it's not your money paying for the shoes!!

Do volunteers sign the same confidentiality contract? I'm still wondering about the email Lennon sent to Martinsen being published on SS.com the same day he sent it.

Like many others who don't know what Buning's work performance was, this is my perception of the situation If, as many believe, Buning wasn't doing the job he was hired to do and if he refused to do the job after (if) it was pointed out to him, then, yes, he should be fired. There's a good way to fire someone and a bad way. The Buning situation goes waaaay beyond the bad way, IMO. And I truly believe that as long as Harmeson, or, whoever is unlucky enough to get the position of AD when it is available, follows the dictates of those behind the public mud slinging of Buning, he'll do fine. BUT, heaven help him or her, if they waver and have an opinion that hasn't been spoon fed to him or her!!! I may be the only one here to say that Harmeson (and new AD) will do fine as long as they kiss the right a$$es and "Yes sir. Whatever you say sir." to those same a$$es but believe me, I'm not the only one who believes it. I guess I do support Buning; not in the way you think. I don't happen to be a fan of lynching....

Thanks for posting this. I can't be there but a check is in the mail!

This is getting ridiculous. The only one's I see 'crowing' around here are the one's who appear to be gloating and cheering that they won!! It looks like the AD is gone and they can't get over celebrating, rubbing it in to those who didn't jump on their wagon and licking their chops at how bright the future looks for 'their side'. To the world beyond the borders of Grand Forks County who are reading about this situation, the UND administration and those on the 'Lynch Buning' band wagon, look like a bunch of back water, illiterate rubes who have no idea how to clean house. Piling trash on the front lawn is NOT the way to do it.

The PR guy for one of the air medivacs we use graduated from SU. He said that SU basically fires their football coach after one year on a regular basis. He attributes that to why they suck. He said Utah has a lot of talented HS football players but because of the coach situation they don't want to go to SU. The few talented guys that go to SU end up underachieving. Just repeating what he said 'cause I know nothing about their program.

Thanks for the props! AND, I was only there for less than ten minutes in the forth!! Damn we're good!!!

I'll be taking US 160 to US 191 both going north and hooking up to I 70 just before or in Colorado around Grand Junction. That was was a lot faster than going across south Colorado along the New Mexico border.

I won't be going through Colorado Springs. I'll be coming across Colorado from Utah. I'm pretty sure that's I 17, nope, it's I70. No toll fees!
