I am not upset or disappointed. I think that Sioux lineup played to their full potential against the strongest Gopher team since the Leopold era. To make matters worse it looks like they finally recruited a goaltender who isn't a sieve. Based on watching yesterday's games, I also think that Rau is a better hockey player than Johnny hockey. Good luck to Union, because they are going to need it.

I just seen a Sioux fan standing and cheering for the Rodents goal??
No Way!!
Probably that closet Gopher fan DaveK

Sneak peek into the next game...and it appears the Gophers have indeed dyed their hair.
The Golden Poodles.

Any idea where the refs are from?
Hockey East

May the BIG TEN show everybody what REAL Hockey is like - Go BIG TEN!!
And maybe if your Aunt had a beard she'd be your Uncle!
Oh wait disregard that statement as I just noticed that you are in fact a Gopher fan so odds are that your Aunt with the beard really is a women.

I think I am sitting next to gfhockey. some guy yelling about whatever and calling out Hakstol. Fun stuff.
Are your rabies shots up to date?

I see your Buddies to the South actually WON a NCAA BB game now too - Damn it keeps getting worse for you guys, doesn't it?? - 3 National Championships in a ROW and now they win a March Madness Game too!! - And when you guys LOSE tonight and end yet another disappointing Hockey Season??? - Wowsa - I guess you can try again next year, right? -
Go BISON!!!!
Does your team still do that end of season pansy thing with their hair and nails. If so a picture of the Golden Poodles is always good for a few chuckles.
-
Considering any loss after tonight will be to a team lower in the PWR it may not bode well for our tourney chances.
They have placed themselves in a situation where they now have to win seven games in a row.
-
Having a trophy on the line didn't work so now we will see how they play knowing that another loss equals end of season.

All hail Hak

I could argue that it has too many team players. There are high end talent, difference makers that could be on this team right now, but are playing elsewhere...like the NHL. You can't just rely on the Gaarders to walk on and replace what guys like JT Miller would have provided. I think this team is playing well above it's talent level right now.
The one sentence you quoted by itself covers up the original members comment that the physical play that is Sioux hockey isn't there anymore. It also doesn't change the fact that they got worked over by a less talented team, in their building and with a trophy on the line.

WMU is playing tough. I remember when we did that.
That is the problem in a nutshell. In all the games I have watched over the past 40 years I don't remember a Sioux team getting outworked at home like that when hardware was on the line. It pains me to say it but this team looks more like a Gopher team, and I think it is all about the recruiting. This line up doesn't have enough team players and character, just too many talented individuals who are passengers when the going gets tough.

Because they made Don Adam the head of officiating.
My original point was that a new league presented a new opportunity to get it right. So why would pick a guy whose most memorable game quote was "I make it up as I go" .
-
Why is that regardless of the league restructure UND is stuck with substandard officiating. Even the ECAC hired an ex NHL official Stewart as their Referee in Chief and Kerry Fraser attends ECAC games and offers advice to their officials in between periods per the article at the link:

And just when some of you thought this thread couldn't get any worse...........right on cue...............!

You can't blame all of this on Kane. What has happened to the "One Move Wonder" yet again, who based on the pool play was an early favourite for forward of the tournament.. At all levels he has pumped in all kinds of goals against the likes of Norway and Austria but as soon as any hardware is on the line he pulls a Holy Cross. Bylsma had the luxury of last change both today and yesterday and why he chooses to play his leading scorer against the best checkers on the other teams is beyond me. Toews certainly knew how to neutralize him.

I am not sure if this was posted anywhere already but I think the TSN Power Rankings of NCAA players at the link are another indicator of the 12-13 team's woes. Not a single D-man and neither Goalie made the top 100. I also agree with the comment from Sagard that this team lacked sandpaper players at the forward positions and that skill alone won't get it done.
Now if TSN could just learn how to spell Dakota

I can't stand Denver but you can tell that no one on the ice knew what happened regarding the Shore hit and they used the video replay to cover their behinds. Very Mickey Mouse.
-
so with eastern refs hitting is allowed, with western refs it clutch and grab
But they also have marbles in their pockets

Someone must have kicked the old trash can during the intermission.

I am one for one in the bracket but that was the easiest of all the games to predict. It never would have reached OT without the world class dive.

Travis Roche added a Spengler Cup Medal to his collection this morning as Canada defeated Davos 7-2 in the final. Thanks to Bettman and Fehr both lineups were loaded with NHLers, with Thornton and Kane as two of the Davos forwards.

The weekend is now complete with a visit from the Dasher Dancer. Too bad he wasn't wearing his little white gloves.

Congrats to Union and I couldn't help but note how many players on their roster are from the BCHL.
