  1. Due to the lack of respect for the game and the dive queens maybe the Russians

    deserved what they got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Exactly, the Canadians have met the Russians in Championship games many times and the Canadians have had to live with Russians who dive to take penaltys. Therefore, there is no sympathy for Russian players, especially a disrectful showboater like Ovechkin.

  2. Wow, if you thought the US team sounded bad singing the US anthemn last year, you ought to hear this crowd sing Oh Canada. :(

    NOw back to college hockey.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hey of course they can't sing, they're Canadian hockey players. Just glad we didn't have to listen to the choir boys from Russia.

  3. Kneeing on Russia; Canada PP coming up.

PHaneuf scores right away; 6-1 (clap, clap)

Russia may have to form a search team to find Khudobin, who has disappeared after being pulled.

Five minute major to Russia for highsticking. I knew Canada would have a field day with this undisciplined Russian team. I hope they keep running the score because the Russians deserve it.

  4. Will they let him into the country even???  Those posters are cruel.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I doubt he will take any heat at all from Canadians. First of all I believe he was drafted by a US team, the TriCity Americans. The rest of the WHL will like the move because they won't have to play against him. His family and friends in Manitoba will like the move because they can come and watch him play on weekends.

  5. I just hope that if Ovechkin does his little "move" on Glass in between periods, that one of Canada's monster D-men beat him down like Suter wanted to do.

Ovechking is an amazing hockey player (I think the best in the tourney), but I have never seen a more arrogant player, ever.  I can't think of any other time I have seen a player (Ovechkin) come out before the goalie to start the game or periods.

I think his career will turn out just like Jagr's, another kiss blowing showboater. Ovechkin has lots of talent and will tally plenty of Pro points, but in the end he will move from team to team as he annoys owners, fans and teammates alike. I wish they had both pursued figure skating and left the game to the real players of the best game on the planet. Then their kiss blowing would be understandable. Heck they could have given them to each other.

  6. #1HakFan,  Sorry to bring it back up but YOU did say it after all...

"Wow listen to all you experts. Before the season started, if Goligoski would have been named to the team, all you experts would be cutting him down.

Brian Lee is said to be one of the BEST 17 year olds in the world and after he adjusts to the speed he will be one of USA's top 5 Dmen. He will win mr. Hockey and lead his team to a state championship and be a first or second round draft pick this summer. He is probably one of the few right handed Dmen which helps him and he has dominated at the world level at his age group every tourney he has been in. That doesn't mean he lead USA anywhere. They will be luckey to play in a medal game because Canada, Russian and Finland are so stacked, but Montoya could carry us alone.

17 year olds don't seem to impact at this tourney, but Lee will be better then Hagemo, Borer and Goligoski. Wait until the tourney is over and we will all see.

I guess we have seen except for one final game and btw how did that Montoya carrying USA work out?  Hmmm, maybe their was some expertise by the so called experts afterall.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Maybe portions of the post were exagerations or high expectations; however; you can't convince me that Goligoski looked better than Lee. Goligoskis errors in judgement contributed to an opposition goal in each and every game. And how old is he again and exactly where is he playing.

  7. What fantastic news. Toews is supposed to the second best 17 year old Canadian forward after Crosby. It looks like the Sioux will be contributing to both the US and Canadian teams for next years World Juniors.

  8. I thought Lee looked alot better than at least three of the other D-Men. Keep in mind that he is a highschool player and he was up against quite a few Pro players from the Swiss League, a league that features many former NHLers even when there isn't a strike.

  9. With his antics and flair Ovechkin looks alot like Jagr, in which case Washington can have him. What suprised me was the poor quality of the Russian defense and their lack of discipline. Based on last nights game I look forward to a US/Canada Gold Medal showdown.

  10. Hockey News picks the US to win the tourney?

I thought they hired hockey experts at Hockey News. Sorry, but team US doesn't have a Zach Parise in this years line-up or the supporting cast. Team USA were fortunate to beat Germany 5-3 last evening. Meanwhile Canada has crushed Finland 6-0 and Switzerland 5-0. I still believe the US can medal but it will take a full team effort to do so. When Russia and Canada finally meet in the playoffs the Gold medal will be decided.
