  1. If you would like to show your support for North Dakota native Tyler Roehl and vote for him as college football player of the week on USAtoday you can do so here: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/foo...-the-week_N.htm
  2. Actually they put up a pretty good fight in spite of how pathetic you say they are. I'm sure those guys busting their butts out on the field on Saturday appreciate your fan support.
  3. More bragging rights for North Dakota. At least the Gophers can still brag dominance in water polo!!
  4. Thank you God for Tyler Roehl.
  5. I wouldn't call myself big hockey fan, because I just didn't follow it at all while I was growing up in Northwestern North Dakota. But it's pretty cool when, on the occasion I overhear Gopher fans make fun of our state someone always brings up Fighting Sioux hockey and it shuts them the hell up. I'd love to see us add football and basketball victories to those conversations also. We already took care of the Badgers for bragging rights, the Gophers are next.
  6. Ok, we are back online now. Just a minor inconvenience and luckily none of the database was lost.
  7. Is preps done for? Huh? Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? No, we will be back asap, hopefully in a manner of hours. This is just a minor set-back, they can't keep us down!
  8. A lot of the forums using wowbb software have been getting hacked lately. Actually it's a fairly safe format, but once someone finds a way in it spreads around to the hacker groups pretty fast. Hopefully we can get it up again quickly, I'm just waiting on customer support, which is usually great with them, and try to get everything back to normal again. Thanks to everyone for supporting the site.
  9. I accidentally screwed up the nameservers, and it takes 24-72 hours to re-propagate all the ISP's to the right web host. Hopefully it's back everywhere soon, some places are still able to get it. Sorry for the disruption, talk about bad timing.
  10. Sure, try registering one more time, and make sure you open your email and click on the link to activate your account. Once your account is activated, me, or one of the moderators will approve your posting privledges in a short while, so just be a litte patient. Now if it doesn't work again, you can send me a pm here, or there, and I can look at it again, or just manually register you. Either way, let me know if you are able to log in, thanks.
  11. Yeah, but someone designed it for me for free, so I couldn't really complain about the size, because any smaller would have made the pictures on it too blurry. I proposed for some of the members over there to submit a new logo if they like to possibly be displayed, we'll see if anyone can come up with something nice. When I started the website on Jan. 1st 2006, I wasn't sure if anyone would even register there or post, so I didn't want to spend lots of money on it.
  12. With the success of both teams there should be plenty of good players to go around. And there is lots of time to teach and train the athletes they do recruit. That is where both schools excell.
  13. I personally don't have a problem with the rivalry itself. Some UND fans hate NDSU, some NDSU fans hate UND, whatever I guess, if that's your thing. What bothers me is when you have people in their 30's and 40's acting and talking like complete morons and the stands are packed with kids from 5 to 12 years old. What kind of idiot acts like that around kids? What happened to teaching them about sportsmanship and respect?
  14. On behalf of the 15,000 or so other Bison fans at the game, we did appreciate those people wearing the Sioux clothing and cheering for the Bison. I can't account for everyone though, for some people the rivalry is/was more important than the actual games, and it shouldn't be like that.
  15. Yea there were a couple of old goofballs yelling "sioux suck" after the cheers but they were kinda looked upon as drunken idiots, I had to fight the urge to yell over "move on with your life". I didn't notice any of the college age people acting like that. A few Gopher fans decided to mock the NDSU supporters after the game and talked crap and said things like "enjoy your drive home". Classy fans there. But many seemed to admire the passion we had for our team and the fact we gave the players a standing ovation even though they didn't win. There are some great write ups in the Minneapolis papers, if you have time.
  16. Looks like there were a lot of good games, including: South over RR 48-14 Devils Lake-North Dakota School for the Deaf 13, Fargo Shanley 0 Griggs County Central-Finley-Sharon-Midkota 34, Thompson 14 Harvey 65, Garrison-Max 6 Hillsboro 50, Hope-Page 14 Jamestown 27, Bismarck Century 20 Milnor-North Sargent 20, Richland 0 New Rockford-Sheyenne 20, Langdon-Munich 19 North Central Benson 34, Maddock 22 Northwood-Hatton 26, Valley City 6 Park River 27, Cavalier 20 Rugby 40, Fargo Oak Grove Lutheran-Park Christian 10 Velva 27, Des Lacs-Burlington 0 Watford City 42, Bottineau 6 Wells County 32, Tri-County 12 West Fargo 42, Grand Forks Central 12 Williston 20, Dickinson 6
  17. I actually listened to the end of the game on the audio link while I was in Las Vegas. When the Sioux scored at the end my buddy and I high fived each other. Not because I'm a Sioux fan but because I'm against anybody taking a team from North Dakota lightly, whether its NDSU, UND, or any of the other schools. I'm proud of my alma mater, but I'm even more proud of being a North Dakotan. Congratulations.
  18. Don't get worked up about a few bad apples. There are many Bison fans who are hoping that the Sioux have a good game and help represent our state with class.
  19. I would think the news about the Mid-Con is positive news for UND. It leaves plenty of room for them to join the GWFC, and I don't see them getting rejected by the Mid-Con as the 11th member, once they get closer to completing their transition to DI. Perhaps that was discussed at the presidents meeting, but we'll won't know for sure because it wasn't an open meeting.
  20. There will always be stupid people who hope for nothing but the worst for UND (see prior postings), and the same for NDSU. If anything, the competition between the two schools, and the fact that they belonged to the same athletic conference for so long, has brought out the best (and the worst) from both universities. Both will benefit by resuming the competition in the future, hopefully by joining the same conferences.
  21. I think the schedule will definetly be more challenging. UND will get a few surprizes, and a few cupcakes. Heck they've even got Northern Iowa on the schedule this year (don't beat them, or you'll never get a team to schedule you). And you'll probably still find a U Mary on the schedule in a year or two. I would be excited if I were a basketball, football fan for the Sioux right now, the future has much potential.
  22. Actually I think most Bison fans are glad that UND is moving to DI so that the rivalry can continue on the field. Probably more so than the Sioux fans, because Bison fans won't be asked by UND to pay for it.
  23. I agree, I think both conferences would be a decent fit, and I would like to see NDSU and SDSU in the same conference. I would think most Fans of those Universities feel this way.
  24. According to this guy Northern Iowa should have an easy victory over UND. I think they are probably in for a bigger battle then that. I think it depends on UND's ability to move the football, if they can keep UNI honest by completing some passes, they'll take them close into the 4th quarter. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c...oint_051306.htm
