  1. Bledsoe is on fire as well, he has 15 points on 5 three-pointers
  2. Lenhertz is going nuts! He has 8 points, 2 dunks, an unbelievable tip-in, and he faked a guy out of his jock-strap! Swyg says he is dominating!! UND 66 Mary 53 6:27
  3. Sioux up 14 now with about 10 minutes left.
  4. Lenhertz just dunked it again! 9 point lead for UND. 13:30
  5. Sioux lead by 5 15:30 left in game
  6. Halftime Stats FG %: UND 46%, Mary 46% 3pt %: UND 22%, Mary 56% Rebounds: UND 19, Mary 10 Turnovers: UND 7, Mary 4 Indivdual UND: Hoy-8 pts, Youmens 7 pts, Little 6 pts/7 rebounds Mary: Sandvig 9 pts (all 3 pointers), West 7 pts Mary has been playing all Zone defense, ala St. Cloud. UND has struggled with that. That combined with too many UND turnovers and some timely Mary 3 pointers is keeping this game close. UND needs to solve the zone defense, and stop turning it over. This game shouldn't be as close as it is.
  7. UND 32 Mary 30 Halftime Sioux are playing quite well, but the game should not be this close. Mary has hit several big 3 point baskets. Good game so far. Audio is back!
  8. I just lost my audio, still have video though.
  9. This just in: Lenhertz's favorite food is hashbrowns!
  10. Sioux lead 28-23, 4 minutes left. Lenhertz just dunked it!
  11. Josh Doyle went in a little while ago and Swyg mentioned that despite not playing much this season that the Coaches have said that he's been playing so well in practice of late, that they want to get him more minutes in games.
  12. Tied at 16 with 10:30 left in 1st
  13. vs. North Dakota (10-6, 0-2) vs. University of Mary (6-10, 3-5) UND Audio & Video Mary Audio Game Notes Mary has been playing a little better as of late. Hopefully UND can get back on the winning track tonight!
  14. UND: Ads target new audience Some were just discussing this subject yesterday in the UND President thread.
  15. I was also surprised that Seattle was not admitted to the WCC from the get go. That is probably a good thing initially for UND, as both schools will probably be regular opponents over the next several transition years. As Seattle nears the end of their transition, I'd think that the WCC will give them another look.
  16. There are playoff implications for the current GWFC members to consider. We will still be a DII team to them next year. A win against us does nothing to help there playoff chances next season, and a loss to us would probably be devastating seeing as how they are vying for an at-large berth rather than a n auto-bid. That is why we will potentially not play a full schedule until 2009, when we count to them. The benefits are only (ha, only ) having to negotiate 7 or 8 games to put on a schedule each year rather than 11 or 12. The ability for our players to play for a conference championship and weekly/season individual honors is going to be an extremely important recruiting and motivational tool for the student-athletes and the fans, especially in the first 5 years of DI. As far as it not being a long term deal, who knows. Honestly, we all probably hope not, but unless the Big Sky conference changes its mind about having a Dakota school as a member, UND could be in the GWFC for a long, long time. The Big Sky and the GWFC are really the only realistic potential homes for UND football, and the Big Sky probably isn't very realistic at that. If UND ends up in the Summit, some other non-football playing conference, or as a perpetual independent, the Great West will probably end up being a very long term deal for UND.
  17. That article was in the GF Herald about a week ago. I wondered why it didn't include Poly. I hope it was just an omission by the writer. About a week before that article came out, Coach Lennon was on the radio and said that "contracts are in place with all of the GWFC teams". I sure hope we get Cal Poly this year.
  18. But if Big 10 hockey happened, they would be included/invited immediately.
  19. I agree with all that. Since the Big 10 Network started up, there's been all sort of rumors that the Big 10 may look to expand by adding a large market team from the east such as Pitt, Rutgers, or Syracuse basically just to create more programming for their network and to get the network into another larger viewership market. If they're willing to consider that, I'm confident they are also contemplating the viability of their own hockey conference with the current hockey-playing Big 10 schools and a couple of others that you mentioned. They are already have shown and will show more WCHA and CCHA games on their network. Admitting schools like Bemidji St. and Alaska will only help schools like Wisconsin and Minnesota to more quickly see the benefits of a Big 10 hockey conference. I fear it could end up being like when the WAC expanded so much and then half the conference (the most prominent schools) left in the middle of the night and formed the Mountain West. I admit, if UND were to be included in such a conference, I wouldn't have any problem with that. But if there is any question about it, I think things should stay status quo.
  20. Sioux down 16 again 16 min left in the game
