  1. So the good old oil companies don't make enough to pay for new refineries?? What have they been doing for the last 30 yrs?? Good lord has anyone else but me driven in Wyoming?? I thought there was wide open spaces in ND!! What better place to build a couple new shiny refineries!! We can put a Walmart any where in the world but we can't build a da** refinery? There is something really wrong here. Maybe the folks in Bentonville should be running the oil companies. Goon, sorry I vented on your thread.
  2. Again from the DOE website, Can consumers reduce the revenues flowing to a certain country or countries by boycotting companies that have a history of importing from those countries? Due to the global nature of the oil market, boycotts by individual consumers or even individual countries cannot reduce the oil revenues of a given oil producing country/countries. At best, consumer boycotts of a company known to import crude oil would result in a temporary reduction in the market share of that particular company. Because the overall consumer demand for products made from oil (like gasoline and diesel fuel) would be unchanged, the oil would simply be purchased by some other company. Similar market shifts would occur if an entire country or countries refused to buy oil from a certain country/region, or were legally prevented from doing so. The boycotting countries would take additional imports from different countries, and those countries would purchase additional supplies from the boycotted country/region. Due to the nature of the world oil market, it is impossible to impact the oil revenues flowing to a given country or region with anything short of a sanctions regime, wherein all countries pledge to avoid buying from a particular country. In a nutshell we created a genie we can't put back in a bottle.
  3. From the DOE web site, Do consumers impact gasoline prices? Consumers have very little power as individuals but, if enough consumers give the same
  4. Oh I see, a Seminole is not a Seminole if they are not from the state of Fla. Herd do you work for a branch of the NCAA? Sioux-cia, Great post!!! I love this part the best. "we believe that ignoring the opinions of those tribes who own those names would be tyranny of the majority and an even greater injustice. ." Again all we ask is a vote of the majority of NA's on the reservations if they object we no longer use the Great Warriors of the Plains name again. Seems pretty simple IMHO.
  5. Wait a minute, I thought if one person objects to a certain word, nickname or phrase everyone should stop using the word, nickname or phrase.
  6. Kind of a slow day over on the Bison boards?? I wonder what the ratio is of Sioux posters on a SU sports board are compared to Bison posters on a Sioux board. Oh right, NDSU posters could careless about UND sports..
  7. I don't like the word caucasion could you please refrain from using this term.
  8. This speaks volumes. And it's a formula that works!!!
  9. One has to wonder if some of the teams would leave the Pioneer League?? The landscape seems to be changing and UND hasn't even played a game as a FCS member. The MAAC is changing and the Pioneer League doesn't look stable from a stand point IMHO, on the "needs based" approach in which the Pioneer League and Ivy League try to float. The Pioneer League seems to be branching out. IMHO ,pretty far stretch on having Marist play San Diego in the same league even if you play every other year.
  10. Sorry Here is what I gleaned, "Coastal Carolina athletics director Warren ``Moose'' Koegel said Friday that the NCAA approved the selection committee's proposal to expand the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs from 16 to 20 teams beginning in 2010. Koegel is part of the selection committee and said the number of 20 teams is a compromise from the committee's original desire to expand to 24 teams. Big South commissioner Kyle Kallander said the Big South will get an automatic bid as part of the expansion. Under the expansion the first round will include four games with 12 teams earning byes. See Saturday's edition of The Sun News for more details." Not sure why I can't link this article. Maybe star2city will help me out on this.

  12. They could lighten up a little. I have seen what you mean.
  13. But yet we have so many SU/Bison posters who claim they could careless about UND post so much on a UND/Fighting Sioux/Grand Forks board?? I'm not a poster on any SU/Bison/ site because to be honest I really don't care about SU.
  14. All very good ideas!! I like 1,2,3,8 the most!!! Would like to see the out of town scores on the facia ring. Is it me or does everyone else also hate Clovedale meats and Old Dutch?? I avoid their products for some crazy reason.
  15. Why do I get the feeling that hermit would go out of his way to kick a puppy? The art work on the bike is great. Not a bike person myself but I do admire the work and detail that went into this creation.
  16. On Hockey Night in Canada. The town of Cartwright is rebuilding after a fire destroyed their arena. Click for information about Clipperdome If you watch the Chevrolet commercial the young man packing his hockey bag is wearing a Fighting Sioux shirt. Hats of to Chevrolet for helping!!
  17. I would love for the CCHA to trade UNO for MTU. Should have let them go a few years back when they wanted to leave!! Da*n McCloud should have let UNO into the WCHA!!
  18. Great!!!! Oh your just pulling my chain....
  19. I've e-mailed good old Adam before he's a tool. I corrected him last year on a few of his articles. The guy is an idiot, I put him right up there with Bob Norton. They don't have a clue about the western schools. The one good reporter who I have met and had a good college hockey conversation was Dave Starman. He does the research and knows college hockey!!!!

    Jerseys

The faded Sioux/Blackhawk logo's are from the old Bookstore correct? The story I heard when I bought my two game worn 2001 jerseys was that the crest logo's and t-hawk patches were still on campus and used on the tribute jersey's for the last game at the old Ralph. I have #4 and #26. I purchased them at the new Ralph in the Sioux Shop as soon as they hit the rack! It would be interesting to see where all the gamers ended up at. (other than in AZSIOUX's closet)
  21. That's the way it looked from a little sports bar in Bowman, ND the college hockey viewing hot bed.
  22. espn zone sucked !!! A large group were on tour of the local bars. Zone was our 1st stop! We were told we would have to "purchase food" if we wanted to be served. What a sad excuse for a sports bar!!! We did enjoy the next stop "Rock Bottom" until the locals started pouring in and the service turned to crap. The drinks were great the service sub-par. The Best bar we found was the one at the Hotel Crowne Plaza. The bartender was a riot and the drinks were awesome. I think the CP lost money! I did love how the Sioux fans took over Coyote Ugly two nights in a row what a blast! Great to meet all you Sioux fans from across the country!!!! I can also give you the food critic reviews if you would like.
  23. I agree. Resting up this weekend for the "drive" to Denver. Have the hotel. Not real worried about tickets since St. Louis had alot of sellers out in the street with really cheap tickets. But I wouldn't pass on an offer if someone had a couple of tickets to sell.
  24. Someone has to cheer for the Scottish team!!!
