From Dan Hayes’ column today in The Athletic - So, what’s their secret? Apparently, they enjoy each other’s company. “This group really likes each other,” Twins manager Derek Shelton said. “Not that that matters, but it does matter. It’s a tight-knit group. … The first night in Baltimore, 16 guys, 17 guys at dinner. Team dinner the next night. Buck rents a room the next night. This group enjoys being around each other. And I think the one thing about it is they all understand their roles.” ———————- And from our Captain, what a leader and a legend; he’s rapidly moving up my favorite Twins list - “We chill,” Buxton said. “We come to play baseball. We focus on ourselves. The one big thing I told them in spring training is, ‘The only thing that matters is who is in this clubhouse.’ Once you believe in that and you understand, day in and day out, this is the brotherhood, this is a family, it starts becoming reality for us. Spring training was kind of that feel and touch era. Now, it’s more get after it.”

13 more runs tonight beating Boston 13-6. Yes I’m stunned. Nobody wake them up

Yea, who are these guys? I still expect the wheels to fall off due to the bullpen, but they are doing this with very little production from Buck and Keaschal.

I’d love for the Jays to go back east like it use to be -
The New York Islanders fired Patrick Roy and hired Peter DeBoer as their next head coach, the team announced Sunday. Roy was relieved of his duties after serving as head coach since January 20, 2024. The Islanders enter Sunday in playoff position with 89 points but have lost four straight. DeBoer previously served as head coach of the Dallas Stars. He was let go by the Stars last June
