  1. GRAND FORKS - Grand Forks Red River head boys hockey coach Bill Chase was placed on indefinite administrative leave last week due to “conduct unbecoming and unfitting of a high school coach, including a history (of) derogatory, demeaning, and intimidating language,” according to documents obtained by the Grand Forks Herald through an open records request. https://www.inforum.com/sports/hockey/973441-ND-prep-hockey-coach-placed-on-leave-for-‘intimidating-language’
  2. If I were to bet I’d say they have 12 on the board after 2. There have been some lopsided matchups in the past but this one is right up there
  3. To think that 30 years ago, Kirby Puckett became baseball's first $3 million a year player. Now, Manny Machado will get 10 times that for 10 years
  4. Back to back 4-0 losses at home to the Blues and Ducks. Blow it up!!!!!!!
  5. Yes I’ll listen to upset parents. Part of coaching although it happens very rarely as I’ve been fortunate over the years. I’m done. Off to the rink for practice. Have a good one
  6. Wow. Let’s see here. A guy who has been around the game for as long as I have letting, say a 14 year old on giving him a few pointers is a bad thing? Alrighty then. Oh and I’m always open to suggestions when it comes to coaching. The game has changed a ton since I first coached long ago so I’m always looking and listening to new ideas
  7. It could happen again but if I was to bet I’d say someone will score on them. Looking forward to watching them at state as I’ve yet to have had the opportunity to do so
  8. You have no clue what I do behind the bench bud. After every game when I go to shake the young refs hands I let them know what they did well and what they need to look for. Everyone is appreciative of it too. But yeah I’m ignorant.
  9. That's exactly how I feel too. I'm only on my 35th year of coaching this great game but to one dude on here I'm ignorant.
  10. I beg to differ. I coach at the peewee level and teach both contact and checking. My players know the difference. With refs in high demand I often have kids reffing our games. It's actually comical at what they call and don't call. Oh and that goes for adult refs too but not in that degree.
  11. Sure but then you throw the difference of body contact and body checking into the hands of the refs. That's where it gets ugly. Very few know the difference.
  12. I do think it should be at the peewee level. What gets me is I currently coach peewees and do in the spring and summer too. The team I coach in the winter obviously can’t check but once we get into spring and summer tourneys they can. Doesn’t make sense. I do teach my team how to hit and take a hit so they are ready for it but shouldn’t it either be able to check or not across the board?
  13. Over under Mandan keeps Central under 12
  14. Central South Century Davies
  15. It has come a long ways for sure
  16. Of course they are better but I still appreciate what they can do.
  17. Women can’t skate? I think my daughter would strongly disagree
  18. It’s being proposed. I was under the impression that is was a done deal that checking will not be allowed in 2020 http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/0042/6381/QandABodyCheckingProposal2.pdf
  19. And in 2020 as of now there will be no checking in bantams
  20. Minots new arena holds 2200 I believe.
  21. Blow it up
  22. I like it at both venues but the Farmers Union rink is so much better to watch a game compared to the Olympic rink at the Ralph. Plus it’s closer to home.
