  1. The general opinion here in the East is that with TCU coming in,the Big East football/basketball split is going to be announced later this year. If Villanova says no,then Central Florida would join the football schools in the new "Big Northeast" or whatever it will be called. It costs a ton of money to go from 1-AA to 1-A. Villanova is in a small town and they wil never let them build a big stadium, not even 45,000 seats. I think they will end up playing at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field which holds about 70,000 or the new pro soccer stadium which holds about 30,000. I don't think Temple and the Eagles want another team chewing up the grass at Lincoln Financial Field. Vilanova does not want to play in a second tier Northeast basketball league so I think they will spend just enough money to have a football program like Rice or Duke.
  2. That was a terrific thing that the Blackhawks did bringing the Stanley Cup to the hospital.--I was just wondering, with all the Fighting Sioux players in the NHL,do the guys ever get together for a charity game?
  3. I was reading on fightingsioux.com that North Dakota is getting a blizzard/ice storm today and tonight. Hope everyone has fun tonight and makes it to and from The Ralph safely. GO FIGHTING SIOUX !!! GO SCARLET KNIGHTS !!!
  4. Star, Normally I would say the Sioux would be able to beat our lacrosse team in the first year, but our coach is supposedly on the hot seat this year and we are playing better. Now,if the Fighting Sioux played our club hockey team, the scoreboard at The Ralph would probably melt !!!
  5. Is there any way the center could be configured to hold minor league baseball ?
  6. A major source around here has said the announcement will involve the Fighting Sioux playing two games a year at Princeton each season for at least the next twenty years.
  7. Sioux2013, I doubt that NJIT has any webcasts. No one here in New Jersey can figure out why they are trying to be Division 1. They play in a tiny gym (the bigger high schools in the Grand Forks area probably have bigger gyms) and the state already has a bunch of Division 1 schools within a two hour radius (Rutgers,Princeton,Saint Peter's,Rider,Monmouth,Fairleigh Dickinson, and Seton Hall),plus a bunch in Philadelphia and New York City. It must be costing NJIT a bundle to constantly fly their sports teams to North Dakota,South Dakota,Illinois,Texas,Utah, etc.
  8. If the Sioux can play Nebraska-Omaha at a neutral site such as Winnpeg, I am sure there will be future games against Minnesota-Twin Cities at Baker Rink
  9. Oilcan, Here at the New Jersey Shore, Comcast shows the Sioux home games on channel 720 or 721 via Fox College Sports. Once in a while NHL Network shows a tape delay on channel 739.
  10. Do some of you follow the Minnesota Wild players. If so,who are your favorite former and current players.
  11. I found a website the other day that has all the WHA uniforms.Thought some of you might be interested. I probably won't be able to get the link to work, but it is www.whauniforms.com.My personal favorites--the New Jersey Knights (of course), the Phoenix Roadrunners,Calgary Cowboys,Denver Spurs, and in honor of Pat Sweeney, the Minnesota Fighting Saints. My link
  12. Hi AZ, According to the Saint Louis Blues website,Chris Porter is still on the team.--Thanks for all the work you do. Wish the Devils were doing more to help out Zajac and Parise !
  13. Who are the current former Fighting Sioux playing in the NHL or AHL ?--On another note, has anyone heard anything lately about reviving the WHA? I know a couple years ago they had about 6 cities lined up,then delayed the start, and then I did not hear anything after that.
  14. What a great way to start 2011 !!! --- It has just been reported by Rutgers that Eric Le Grand has some movement in his shoulders. The first interviews with Eric will be shown on the ESPN Sportscenters starting Friday morning. Keep the prayers coming !!! BELIEVE 52 ERIC LEGRAND
  15. Keep YaneA in your thoughts. She is on the injured reserve list after a fall last week. Sounds like she is going to be OK in a few weeks. Thanks to her neighbors who helped out.---Next time, she should just play against the Gophers
  16. I was considering buying something online from a store in Minnesota called Franchise Sports. I almost never buy anything online, but was hoping some of you in Minnesota might be familiar with the store which has several locations in the Minny-Saint Paul area. Is the quality of their products good and have any of purchased something from them online ? Thanks for any comments.
  17. YaneA, We need more complete cupcake reporting. Were the cupcakes the old Kings colors of purple and gold or the the silver and black
  18. Hope that Ryker, his Mom and Dad have an extra special Christmas.
  19. Hope Fighting Sioux fans everywhere have a Blessed Christmas and 2011.
  20. Nodak, There has been talk of the Islanders going to Kansas City because the owner has been trying to get a new arena for years and years. Personally,I always thought the Nassau Coliseum was one of the best places to see hockey, basketball, concerts, etc. I never cared about huge hallways and luxury boxes, but I do realize it is a way to hike prices.
  21. And again, I ask,how about playing every year at Princeton
  22. Several sources here in the East have said they expect Massachusetts to make an announcement soon about moving to Division 1-A and join the Mid-American Conference. Seems very overdue for a large public university in a state with a large population. With the current economy, the timing seems strange, but some people think there are other colleges in the East considering going to Division 2 or dropping football altogether.
  23. BigAHg, I thought it was a state law that everyone in Wisconsin had to root for those pesky red and white varmints !
  24. Hope all the Sioux fans in North Dakota and Minnesota are OK in the blizzard. Sounds pretty bad on TV and I just saw that the Giants never made it from New Jersey to the Metrodome.--Stay safe and warm!
  25. I am still trying to convince Coach Hakstol to play AT LEAST two games a year at Princeton
