It was a little too close for comfort,but fortunately North Carolina kept looking toward Heisman Trophy candidate Brian Leonard to run the ball, but Ray Rice came through with 201 yards. The defense played another bend,but don't break game,just like most of the games last season. Looking forward to the home opener against the non-hostile Illini of Illinois on ESPN2 at 12:00 eastern. If the weather holds up, we may have the biggest crowd ever. Look for me on TV--I'll be wearing red.

It does sound like Mike McMahon may be done with the Minnesota Vikings,but I think I read somewhere that he has a guaranteed contract. I assume he will still be paid quite a lot of money. He shouldn't be counted out of the NFL just yet--the guy is quite a fighter. Coaching may be an option too and he is friends with Terry Shea (a former Rutgers coach) who is the quarterbacks coach with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hello GFSiouxfan, Which campus does she teach at? I went to Newark and there are also campuses at Camden and New Brunswick/Piscataway. It is funny you have a picture of him running. Our offensive line was pretty bad when he was here so he had a lot of practice scrambling. By the way, the Rutgers uniforms have changed a bit this year. A small amount of trim has been added around the collar and sleeves. Hello CDog, Yes, Newark Liberty International Airport is the closest large airport to the Rutgers New Brunswick/Piscataway campus. It is about 30 miles north of the campus and is about a 45 minute car ride. It has been a while since I have been to the airport, but I believe there is now a monorail from the airport to downtown Newark where you can catch a train to downtown New Brunswick and a free bus ride to the stadium. If you decide to go to downtown Newark, PLEASE be very careful--it is not Grand Forks,it is a very rough city especially at night. It is much better than 30 years ago,but still has a lot of crime. Auto would be the better way to go. As for the New Brunswick/Piscataway area, there are lots of hotels and restaurants with a lot of restaurants in downtown NB. Hello Geaux Sioux, Here in Big East country, the most recent word is that the BIg East is not going to split in four years as was expected when the new colleges were added. The new Big East football/basketball deal was better than expected and I don't think the league wants to lose some of the non-football schools in the larger cities(such as DePaul,Saint John's, Georgetown, Villanova, and Marquette). The only way I see a split soon is if Penn State, Notre Dame, or Maryland join the league--all of which are very unlikely.

When is the first day parts of North Dakota usually get their first snow?

How has former Rutgers QB Mike McMahon looked so far? He was at RU during some very lean years. Some games the O-line was non-existant and he learned to come back after some brutal hits. Thanks.
