Sioux-cia, I believe you have provided an excellent response/answer to KTF. Couldn't have said it better. However, it probably will fall on deaf ears. It seems that any well stated and meaningful arguments/points to support the reasoning to keep the Fighting Sioux name will never be good enough and (s)he/they will continue to argue against your/our views. The debate will always be there whether or not the name stays or goes, but I don't believe posters such as KTF/GK and others even care about our views, in as much as they purport to say we don't care or understand theirs. Those who support the Fighting Sioux name and all that it embodies can continue to answer their questions and argue against its removal but they will never be satisfied. Now that the PC buffoons at the NCAA have made such a ridiculous decision, it just feeds the fire these particular individuals have been dying to jump into. While quality debate is always good and necessary, after awhile it is no longer debate and the original intent for debate is lost. So many quality posters have stated before that there is so much emphasis put into the name Fighting Sioux that all seems to be forgotten regarding the positives that have and can be done for Native Americans (regardless of which tribe they belong to). Again, very well stated. Your answers alone should stir pride in the name Fighting Sioux and all it embodies. That is why students, alumni, atheletes and fans share in that very pride. I know I share in it!

Bought my tickets today, Section 221, Row 5 (behind visiting bench). My kids are dying to see the Fighting Sioux play and as Dayton is only about 5 hours south, it's now a family weekend. Sort of a Michigan contigent... Would any one have any advice or knowledge of practice times, access to practices (if any) or access to the team so the kids could possibly get autographs/photos? This was originally going to be a big beer drinking/hockey weekend but it's turning into somewhat of a family friendly outing (with some beer) so I thought I would try to make the most of it for the kids. It's sort of a "life-time" event for them (ages 10 and 7). Any advice would be appreciated! Also, how many posters here would/could make this tournament? Thanks...

I, as well as all Sioux fans I am sure, are feeling somewhat down (or pissed off) that the Sioux didn't leave with #8. However; I, as well as all Sioux fans (minus the bandwagoneers) are extremely proud of this team. Their character, class, drive, and skill are the best you'll find anywhere and they have done this program proud!!! We can probably all find something negative to say about tonight's game (blown calls by the officials-hacking away at Spirko's jugular; waving off what should've been goal #2, etc.) but after it's all said and done, they won and we lost. IMO, goaltending (as many predicted) was what the game was hinging on. The Sioux played hard and furious and blasted over 40 shots at Mannino but he was hot tonight. I still have a pit in my stomach but I can't help but be proud to be a Fighting Sioux fan. They are (and always will be) number one in my book. As I told my children before they went to bed after tonight's game, when they put on their Fighting Sioux jerseys for hockey practice, they are to wear them with pride knowing that the Sioux are the best! Congraulations to the players, coaches and staff for a great season. Hold the head high with Sioux pride, there is nothing to be shameful off. Congratulations to everyone on this board and every other true Sioux fan. We had a great ride this season and we look ahead to a great 2005-2006 run. Seems to me that the classiest fans are those that are Fighting Sioux fans. With that all I can say otherwise is... DENVER SUCKS!!! Go Fighting Sioux!!!!!!!

What more is there to say beyond what PCM so elegantly wrote? Only that we all wish the Fighting Sioux the best and we will all cheer them on to victory today! Win or lose (and they will win) it's been a great ride (with all of the ups and downs and ups) this season! This is it, the time has come... today is the day the Fighting Sioux will play for #8. Ladies and gentlemen, please rise and cheer for your Fiiiiiiiiiightiiiiiing Siooooooooooouuuuuux!!!!!

I read the article before on got onto this site. Then I find out that PCM wrote it (I never seem to pay attention to who authors those articles)! Great job and very inspiring to read. The inspiration this team has is another ingredient in the overall recipe to the eighth national championship the Sioux will bring home to their fans! GO SIOUX!!!
