Just got on to listen to the game. Great time to hear them get a goal! Go Sioux!!
-
I had to look more than several times becuase I thought I was seeing things, but did anyone notice that on the WCHA web site, following the Fighting Sioux logo (as the various team logos fade in and out) the Ohio State logo appears? What's this about? Did they get ticked off at the CCHA? Is this a subliminal message that the WCHA secretly wishes to have Ohio State in their conference? I always figured the CCHA wished it could be as strong a conference as the WCHA.

You gotta give them a chance to celebrate a little bit but you're absolutely right. They don't want to get wrapped up in just this one victory. It's a long road to hoe at this point. But boy does this victory feel good for Sioux fans.

Fighting Sioux plays great and dominates! Who would have honestly thought they would've played as strong as they did? As someone said in an earlier post, better late than never. Looking forward to tomorrow's game. Hopefully the audiocast will work as well tomorrow as it did for me tonight to hear the Sioux wrap this baby up! Sleep tight Sioux fans! Let's see another ass-whooping tomorrow!

UND in three. I want to boldly say UND in two but with the way this season has gone, I'm on the edge on my seat for this whole series. Goooooo Sioux!!

This would be most excellent! If things end up like they're predicting here, I have to start thinking of a way to tell my wife why I would have to spend time in Grand Rapids on her birthday!

Thanks for the advice and options. Enoy the series this weekend!

I'm here for the first time and I'm in GF and taking in what I can before the Sioux/Wisco series. REA was great along with watching the Sioux practice and some high school hockey. As I have read on previous posts parking sucks (or is nonexistant) at the REA for Sioux games. Other than Dagwoods, does any one know other establishments that may have shuttles? Thanks for any advice any one can throw my way. Looking forward to seeing some Badger ass swept up this weekend (one can hope...)

3:30 PM both days

That's not a little bit of the GVSU and SVSU rivalry talking is it??

The only people that have Sioux hockey and the REA from the Tri-City area (Saginaw-Midland-Bay City) on the front burner are Sioux fans (aren't too many that even really know of or follow UND out here) and the Canadians that live in the area now know about the REA because their beloved Team Canada took the Juniors at the REA. Constantine covers the Saginaw Spirit well enough but probably showed his knowledge of geography and hockey outside of the OHL (or Saginaw anyway). Left him a voice message that he got the location of the World Juniors botched up. It probably won't make a difference any way. But there are some Sioux fans here of which I am one... Coming out to see UND kick some Badger ass (or at least I'm hoping for that)...

Thanks for the response. I concur with your thoughts...

Does any one know exactly what year North Dakota institued the interlocking ND symbol versus when Norte Dame actually adopted their interlocking ND? Thanks.
-
Now here's a subject that I've been wondering about. I can't count anymore how many times people see the interlocking ND and scream "Norte Dame" (which is almost sacrilege where I live) then they see the Sioux on the front of the jersey. "Educated" people then recognize it as North Dakota while those who don't have a clue wonder when Norte Dame added the Sioux to their name. I have gotten into several discussions as to who "had" the interlocking ND first. Since I never knew for sure, I'm assuming that North Dakota had it prior to Norte Dame based on the discussion on this thread. Now this is good... Since "we had it first," screw them. I've always liked it. It's only because of the various Norte Dame atheltic programs such as football and basketball that get so much t.v. time and marketing nationwide versus North Dakota. It's all about marketing that leads to recognition of the logo. Besides, the Sioux would kick Norte Dame's butt in hockey. Never liked them any way.

They remove the caps of all the drinks at the arena for the Saginaw Spirit (OHL Junior Hockey) games here but at the Joe Louis Arena, they have left them on occasionally at Red Wings and college hockey games. Safety is the reason they have given me for keeping the caps. I'd rather have the caps to prevent my beer from spilling if I have to immediately stand up and yell (not that I've spilled one yet)!
