  1. Really interested to see how St Thomas finishes in the CCHA and overall national rankings. They're not super skilled but skate their a** off and work extremely hard all night.
  2. Omaha gonna be a lot better than most expect
  3. The fact that they put up 6 goals tonight and only had their foot on the gas for 30-35 minutes means this team could be pretty freakin fun once they get dialed in
  4. The good: 1. Zakreski-Littler-Croal were awesome 2. Homer made some solid saves when tested 3. Verhoeff gets his first 4. Rickwood did a lot of good things most of the game 5. Team came out hard and were great for the first 30 minutes. 6. Liked that Laurila wasn't noticeable, no terrible mistakes I remember. The meh/bad: 1. Flat last 30 minutes 2. Kernan, Reschny, Zellers showed their youth and weren't great for stretches. Thought Verhoeff had some bad moments with the puck too. 3. Power play needs some adjustments Good dub overall!
  5. Strinden remembered he can pass!
  6. Aren't they UST?
  7. Would like to get one more goal tonight for pure confidence reasons
  8. Same, much better at the little things than Wilkie was last year, just for comparison/contrast to a previous transfer
  9. Too much fumble-f**king the puck all over the ice in the defensive zone
  10. Swanson looking much faster than last year
  11. Dane needs to call a timeout, wake em up
  12. Omaha giving Minnesota State a taste of their own medicine: older lineup
  13. Strinden is going to start burying these soon
  14. Anyone know how the NPI Rankings will work? Are they calculated after every game and displayed publicly on CHN or USCHO?
  15. Michigan flying under the radar a bit more this season. Didn't get the super elite recruits in the 2025 recruiting class, but a ton of solid additions. They're very well balanced & deeper overall, meaning there isn't an insane amount of pressure on young guys like Spence, Valentini, Mews, Ivankovic, Schock, etc to be elite every night.
  16. Michigan is worth getting on the schedule every year or every other year. Seems like Red Berenson & Dean Blais didn't get along & Red didn't want to go to the Ralph for a series, thus a Cold War between Michigan and North Dakota.
  17. Miami 5-3 win over RPI. Kocha Delic 3 point night. Anyone who had loosely followed Delic in the O knew he was gonna be a player for the Redhawks. He was great in Sudbury.
  18. Dumb turnover at the offensive blue line
  19. This UND team is 10x more watchable (so far) than 2024-25 was.
  20. My hypothesis is that once the NCAA made the ruling allowing in early November, Motzko didn't start aggressively building relationships with CHL organizations' GMs & coaches as well as minor hockey coaches throughout Canada. And the problem was he didn't or barely had any connections/relationships in Canadian minor & major junior hockey due to the fact that he's never really recruited high end Canadians. All of this put the Gophers behind the 8 ball and then Motzko decided to just stick with his recruiting class for some odd reason.
  21. Motzko brought in a meh Canadian USHLer late this summer, Finn McLaughlin (technically a dual citizen who has played for the States internationally, but played most of his minor hockey in Canada & grew up there, so he's Canadian). He completely ignored bringing in higher end CHLers in favor of "my recruits are good enough". It's a laughable strategy when the only higher end producer in the Gophers recruiting class was LJ Mooney (non Minnesotan!).
  22. We have to remember that CHLers are not a monolith. Gavin McKenna & Porter Martone ≠ Calem Mangone, Oliver Tulk, Luke Woodworth, Sam Oliver, etc just because they played in the CHL. People (mostly Minnesota fans) act like CHLers are immature divas who only care about themselves & will leave at the moment's notice of adversity. Newsflash, most CHLers are middle tier or higher end lower tier players that have a lot in common with guys who came out of the USHL, except (Canadian) CHLers typically have more offensive skill. We can't act like the highly publicized top tier represents the entire group. Cole Reschny and Josh Zakreski aren't that similar despite both coming out of the Dub.
  23. Minnesota was almost exclusively Minnesotan only for a couple decades (with the exception of Frank Pietrangelo & a few others) after CHLers became ineligible in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Minnesota begged for that ruling too. Boston College has usually been American only until recently, although their 2001 National Championship over North Dakota was directly because of 2 Canadians that UND should have gotten (Krys Kolanos & Chuck Kobasew).
