  1. I think some on this board know what is happening. Hires like this are not made under a "cone of silence." Question is, are the sources reliable enough to put it out there.
  2. If that is the case then Faison is negligent in doing his job. Every AD has a "short" list for every position they oversee. Usually they have cultivated some form of contact prior to making a coaching change. Its not like Faison decided to fire Mussman on the day he did it. Should have been working back channels. Hopefully, he did!
  3. What is Steve doing now, since leaving UNO?
  4. Is Berry pro-Sioux or anti-Sioux? Just wondering why it would matter.
  5. The six year contract basically voids any scrutiny by the administration through the next four years. Assuming that just the base would be payable upon release, that kind of money is not easy to swallow. I'd say Hakstol has free reign for the near future. Hopefully that's a good thing.
  6. Yet better than Milwaukee's Best.
  7. Frank doesn't decide what Faison's job description is, it is laid out in black and white. What he does get to voice is his opinion, which by the way a majority of alumni and fans agree with. Donations being high has no direct correlation to the nickname fiasco, it has to do with allegiance and respect for the University. When the PC crowd raises $100,000,000, come back and we'll have the discussion. Don't expect fundraising to remain on an upward trajectory if the administration continues to cross alumni and fans. If anyone has the "mob" mentality, it is the outsiders that have penetrated the administration building, and bowed to the wishes of the minority, regardless of history, respect, or tradition. Standing up to the academic elite is what takes guts. Thanks to Hak, Frank, and the many others that have taken a stand. I'm guessing if others are called from the sidelines ~ they will respond!
  8. Greenbayguy for 3! Looking forward to cheering on the Sioux with the faithful!
  9. What a valiant effort against a horrible disease, by Perry and his whole family. Thoughts, prayers, and peace to all.
  10. Definately played a role in his departure, along with his wife's illness and passing (earlier than anticipated), the fact that his deferred compensation had fully vested, REA management issues, the chance to coach at the next level (250,000-300,000), promises made (but not kept) in Columbus, and maybe just looking for a different routine after 10 years in one place. It would be shocking to see the Gophs let tDon go after this year, but even more shocking for Dean to be his replacement. I would think he will re-appear in Division I hockey, but don't think it will be at a UND rival, or even in the WCHA.
  11. What side of the editorial judgment are you questioning? Withholding the information when they first had it, or publishing it now. Seems once WDAZ/Y went with it, they were backed into a corner. My guess is the fur is going to fly between the Clifford/Kenville-Clifford families until there is some type of closure.
  12. KFAN has ended Dubay's employment, as of this a.m.

    Jeff Dubay

Star Tribune and metro TV stations are reporting that Dubay will be charged tomorrow morning with possession of cocaine.
  14. Nice story on the Ol' Puck Coach. Glad to see things are going well for him. Sure do miss a national title every few years! http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/index.cfm?id=84446&section=homepage
