GFH: 2011-12 women's hockey schedule Sept. 23-24

No matter how completely true this statement is, the fans from the other three Dakota schools will never admit this. I say we take the amazing path that we have and grow towards the future. UND has such amazing potential both academically and athletically. It is time that we finally show it. Every administrator that has come into UND in the last decade has talked about how amazing our fan and alumni base is compared to every other school our size. It is time that we grow into the flagship university that we are. I personally think this debate is rather pointless. We know that the ADs are talking about potential future games. So let's leave it to them to work out and be EXTREMELY happy about the amazing schedules that we have coming up in the Big Sky in the future in every sport. Let's get our friends, family and neighbors to come to games with us and see where the future takes us.

Sioux move forward at quarterback

Congratulations UMD! This turned out to be a big year for them, opening a brand new arena and getting a national championship banner to hang in it. They are getting quite the athletic department! 8 national championships in 10 years! 2001 - women's hockey national champs 2002 - women's hockey national champs 2003 - women's hockey national champs 2008 - women's hockey national champs 2008 - football national champs 2010 - women's hockey national champs 2010 - football national champs 2011 - men's hockey national champs The Sioux had quite the good streak from 97-01 with national championships. It appears that UMD took over for us.

ESPN is praying to every god possible that the championship game isn't Duluth and North Dakota. It wouldn't be epic as far as TV viewers go. Plus, if UMD loses, it would likely open up more tickets for UND fans.

I would love to see Notre Dame win this one. But they really need to tighten up their D and get their heads back in the game for that to happen.

Sounds like a very good hire! Now the athletic department needs to turn football and basketball home games into more of an event and start marketing these sports to more than just the city of Grand Forks.
