  1. Denver played strong on the puck, very physical, and made it impossible to gain control into the zone. Nice win for them. This was as even a Final Five as I've seen in a long time. Any team could have won this one, save for a bounce here or there. I'll be interested in seeing how well the WCHA does in the dance. Go Sioux!
  2. Gophs are starting to believe. This can't be good. taz
  3. Been there, DONE that!
  4. This is great. Even though it's not taking place Saturday night, it's still the game I wanted. Go Sioux!
  5. Ugly game. Credit DU for just plain shutting down the Sioux. Looked a lot like the 1-0 loss in the regionals a few years back. What a sweet backhander for the game winner. I was irritated a few hours ago, now over it. Another game tomorrow. UND absolutely has to get out of this scoring slump to have success in the big tourney. Would love to play CC tomorrow. And, here it comes... it's going to be tough to say this, but ..... ew.... uhm.... go g-gophers. Phat, phewy, spsst, bleah. taz has Sioux flu

    Tom Pohl

Very sad to see this happen during an otherwise tremendous weekend of hockey. I hope the news updates become more positive in the next few days. Go Sioux and Go Tom Pohl!
  7. Sheesh, that was a nail biter. Sioux win 2-1, and play DU next Friday. taz digs it.
  8. Gophs just won in OT. What a difference a day makes. taz looking for a statement tomorrow night!
  9. Wow. Is that annoying or what? C'mon Sioux, get some rest and then put this one away! taz
  10. While watching the bench discussion, I scratched my head thinking "did that just happen?" Using the magic of TiVo, I went back and was able to freeze on a crystal clear image of Hak's bird. Fantastic! I fell on the floor laughing. It is just part of a terrific evening of hostility and abusiveness served up by our Fighting Sioux. Prpich would have loved this game. Got news for the "class police" out there. Hockey's a rough sport. There's plenty of bad language and nasty behavior by all involved. I think I'm more impressed with Hak after this. They guy finally showed some fire, came unglued, and now feels bad about it. That's emotion. That's heart. He's human. We all get pissed, launch off, and then regret it later. Not many, however, have a camera there while it happens. taz
  11. Thank you, PSB! diggin42, my wife and I really like those charities. Tonight, I donated to CaringBridge. You can easily do this from Nick's site. I wish the NCAA could understand what it means to be a Fighting Sioux. Sweaty eyes, again. taz
  12. The web site and messages gave Taz Boy sweaty eyes, but I'll never admit to that publicly. taz
  13. I'm interested in supporting this. Thank you, Bob, for taking the lead. Hopefully, the family will be OK with it as well. taz
  14. Very nice 4pts for the Sioux this weekend. Taz took the family Saturday night for the usual: burger/pizza at Chevy's and then the game. Can't take the kids to Mettler's afterwards, though, so that part's done for a while. While I thought Mankato was taking the play to the Sioux for much of the third, it was not enough to overcome the two-goal backbreaker. Mankato has size+speed and an aggressive penalty kill. I was impressed with how well they backchecked even when the Sioux were breaking out flying. But, they seem to make enough mistakes to hurt themselves. Nice showing by the Sioux faithful once again. I agree with dagies, was nice to see the crowd post-game, and Hak's acknowledgement right back to all of us. Sioux Yeah Yeah, indeed. taz
  15. Now THAT's old-time Fighting Sioux hockey! taz
  16. Hey Folks, here's hoping the Kelly Green brings some old school bioux-ya tonight. Now remember, no poopie-pants whiny talk if things aren't going perfectly. Remember, it's our beloved Fiiiiiiiiiiiightinnnnnnnnggg Siouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuxxxxx!!!! taz'll be there tomorrow night!
  17. I'm not so sure you do agree with me. I'm disappointed, and expressing my angst through the majesty of sarcasm. But, you're right, it is only just a game. Can't get too worked up about this. Get 2pts tonight and then go on a terror, Sioux. taz
  18. Lot's of games left. Hak will have them firing on all cylinders when it counts!
  19. Don't worry folks, still early in the season!
  20. I expect the Sioux to contend for both the national title AND the regular season title every year. A first half cruise followed by a furious battle to be a bride's maid is not hanging any banners-- which IS the goal of this team year-in year-out. Certainly there's a lot of season left. There's also been a lot of season. And, the Sioux are playing themselves towards the bubble yet again. The loss is not the main issue. It's the late game collapse at home. But, in the end, we all love the Sioux and this annoying little breakdown ain't gonna change that. taz
  21. 5 goals in the last 5 minutes? OK, 3 goals in the last 5 minutes. Is that correct? If so, that IS something to be concerned about-- not necessarily the split. But, it's not the end of the world by any stretch. Enjoy the New Year, folks! taz
  22. Ahm, yeeeaaaah. That's one of the best parallels I've read in a long time. By the way, Bina was fully recovered and playing last season, so his announced absence would have been of little controversy to anyone at the game other than it would have just sounded odd. taz
  23. Wasn't even that good of a kick. Lammy needs some Chuck Norris training to get the ole' roundhouse going.
  24. Agreed. I don't like trashing the Sioux. But, I think it is fair to criticize the effort this weekend. Oh well, they certainly made it interesting. Get rested boys. taz
  25. Win or lose this one, the Sioux have put together barely 1 good period of hockey, while the Gophs played 4+. What a difference a day makes. Yesterday, the gophs season was on the downturn. Today, it's the Sioux. A long holiday break to think about how crappy they played this weekend in front of the fans. taz
