  1. Agree with UND08 as this is a couple of guys though Midwestern Hawk intimates there are more. Point is, a VAST MAJORITY are not involved in this. Those that are sound like they may be gone already. But this is an ugly topping to a Shi* season.

We want Bubba to recruit the players we need to compete but they need to keep their nose clean.

Ironically, the 2 best HUDL videos I saw the past couple of years were Iwarri Smith and Dre Randolph. I guess I have a thing for pot heads.

Cam Hunt in lineup backing up Rastas.  Also Neverman starting for Disterhaupt with Corby Richman as backup.

ILB: 195lb RFr backed up by 210 lb RFr who has never played before.

ILB: Sr RB who is backed up by a sophomore who was a true walk on.

nothing against any of these guys, but I don't imagine Schmidt ever dreamt this would be his homecoming ILB lineup.

Looking at Rastas, I'd be surprised if he is 195.

I think it was a good conversation until Bison06 was accused of trolling.  It's just like politics.... not all conversation is bad.  And homers here say way worse stuff.

I didn't think he was out of line, but we are all P##%ed off here with the way the season has gone.

QUESTION: Which of the wounded medical RS eligible.

  4. I'm going to find a nice cold beer or two before the game on Saturday. I shall find another one inside, then find my seat and I will find something to

STAND UP AND CHEER about at the game.

If nothing else, we get to scout the 2018 Hawks team and see which players have the most potential without chastizing them for not having it now.

  5. More

Sounds likely that true freshman inside linebacker Noah Larson will redshirt. Was expected to be in the rotation, especially after injuries.

Your analogy at the end is about as water tight as a Spagetti strainer.

You're probably right-this team is more like a car with TWO flat tires.

Ironically, I had spaghetti for supper. I really did.

  7. And I'm suggesting it's more of a lack of game action, trying to keep up to bigger and stronger players, and just not feeling comfortable yet. Passion will come after they understand they can play at this level. Right now they are just feeling their way on the field.

  8. I'm frustrated and concerned and if Cole and Deion were out there and Rodgers and others as well, I'd be even more concerned and frustrated.

I don't get the whole "passion" thing. These kids are walking around with wide eyes trying to comprehend what to do and how to do it; right now they're more concerned about how to play than to play with "passion."

If a race car had a flat tire and was being passed by all the other cars, fans around here would say that can't be an excuse and the driver should be fired for not trying harder.

They way you think bubba needs more time and 3 years isn't enough time to build depth could lead me to believe you don't have the programs best interest at heart either... but I digress.

My standards are way higher than most on this board save UND-FB-Fan and geauxsioux. Sick of the excuses...

Your standards are way higher than most of us? Yes, because all the posters here have been celebrating how bad this season has gone thereby proving our low standards.

We just aren't ready to shitcan Bubba and everyone else based on an historic season of injuries.

So with your high standards you'd fire all of them, and in a couple years when things aren't going as well as you'd like, fire the new coach you just hired right? That proves you have high standards.

I hope your right. Our list combined doesn't include a lot of proven players at the FCS level.

Well, there's also Tank, Cieslek and the kids playing now. Love to see what Cam Hunt can do too.

Where and when did  I say we shouldn't miss a beat? Again I understand not being able to win games or even coming close against tough teams. When were not competing against low level teams. This worries me about the future. You're right it's a lost season, I'm still a fan and will watch every game. It worries me about the future. We've got huge holes on D to fill and I wonder how we're going to fill them. I  actually like the future of this offense. I like the improvements on the oline and I'm optimistic on the QB, RB, WR and TE situations for next year. Our D I'm not as optimistic. We get Harris back next year but what else? Larson at MLB, after that.....

Dre Randolph, Donnell Rogers, Zeke Ott, Jalen Morrison should be ready, Mason Bennett may not be done for the year, but should be better next year and add pounds to Rastas, Blubaugh and others and I think it's a solid looking D. Just the 2 you mentioned make a big difference. Harris takes away one side of the field. Larson hopefully clogs the middle. I like the D next year.

  12. I'm a guy who likes to know probabilities in sports. For example, Aaron Judge of the Yanks is at his 90% projection this season, a highly unlikely result for him, but a happy one as well.

What is the probability of this season unfolding as it has? The "experts" in the media and coaching staffs saw UND as the top team in the conference. 14 injuries on D and its a lost year. How often can we expect this calamity to occur? Has anyone seen anything like this?

I don't think we will get enough guys back this week to make much of a difference. Maybe later in the year we will, but the season will be shot by that point (if it isn't already). This is a lost season.

It is. No doubt about it.

But look at next year. In addition to the guys coming back from injury, there's Ott, Larson and maybe even Morrison as guys who will help. Add some pounds to the guys that should NOT be playing now, and it could be a great D. In fact, most of the starters now, will be backups next year.

Unless 90 percent of them are injured early in the year.

I never thought I would see a Schmidt defense getting rocked like this.  May get cole back next week, but is there anyone coming back soon that can help?

Saw something that Cam Hunt was practicing this week.

Your credibility is kind of suspect calling for Hak's head to begin with, but Hak did some nice things with teams where he couldn't even field a full lineup, and he had to deal with being raided by the professional ranks a lot.  Not easy to plan ahead and fill all the gaps on a year to year basis with injuries and pro defections, yet he seemed to make the NCAA playoffs every year.

That's exactly what the guys on the hockey board were saying too and I understand the point. They always worried that Hak could not be replaced.

Turns out he could be replaced. So could Bubba, but not yet.
