Have to feel for the players that are not only injured but the ones playing giving their all. It can't be easy to deal with.   As much as we (fans) hate losing, imagine their frustration.

If they are the young guys who are playing and are frustrated, that may be the best news for this team and going forward. They took their poundings this year and hopefully get revenge next year and the year after and after.

NDSU does not have the top end talent to win it this season.  Mcclimon will end up being Rocky Hager II.

I hope so, but I NEVER count them out.

Homefield will get them a LONG way.

  3. Same thing was happening in the 80's. Moo U killed us and won natty's.

90's rolled around and it took time but by the end of them, UND was beating the Bison.

    IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN!!

  4. I agree with that last sentence, but that's going to be true irrespective of UND's record. If "they" win another, it's a kick in the ass to UND. No doubt about it.

    GO JMU!

  5. I snarked on Hak a LOT for not winning nattys. I admit that.

If Bubba has a fairly healthy team next year and the results are the same as this year, I'll be all over it.

    Maybe.
No titles in a couple years is one thing. No titles in 10 is another.

  6.

    From the Bison LB article

Going five deep at the position group is something they haven't done since their rise to FCS power starting with the 2010 playoffs.

5 Deep is still better than 7-8 deep.

99.9% of Iowa fans would say yes.

No doubt, but they never won 5 FCS titles either. It's not bad being the big fish in the smaller pond.

SU will move up after UND beats them a few times. They're gonna need to run away from us like they did when we were whupping them in D2.

  8. And that begs the question:

Is being like Iowa etc better than being the top team in FCS.

What's the cost/benefit ratio? What will it cost to support an FBS team? Don't think that getting to a bowl game is it. MOST teams lose money going to bowl games. Yes it may look good for the  coach and to recruits, but it costs money to go to a game as most don't sell out and the teams MUST buy lots of tix.

He's definitely a d1 athlete with his combination size and athleticism.   Biggest issue I see is...toughness!  It comes across at though he's very timid.  If that is the case he would be eaten alive at any position on D.  Playing D requires pure aggression.  Make it count every time so they quit going your way.  That is what I loved about the ratelle and taj combo......they made you think twice about coming up the middle

I'm curious about his toughness too. Not judging the kid, just think it's an open issue. What about a 6'4" receiver? He can't be any slower than Wanzek/Toivonen can he?

  10. I hope Montana does well the rest of the way.

Think of it this way- In the 2nd half,  a 3rd string QB did pretty well. They kept burning a CB who either A. will not be a starter next year, or B. will have improved a helluva lot, and our D included a guy, Nevermann who is a RB along with a guy who may not see a ton of PT next year if the team is healthy (Rastas) along with O Linemen that will probably be bigger stronger next year.

In the 2nd half this was a decent game with THOSE guys. What will it be like next year with our real players back?

Bubba brings energy?  I like and respect Bubba but he always looks like he's in pain when the camera pans to him on the sideline.  I know there are quiet leaders, but I want to see a coach chest bumping his kids after a good play...talking junk to a ref in defense of his players; young kids love that stuff. When you see a coach dancing the locker room or leading the cheers after a big win, that's connecting with the players.  Bubba is always buttoned down and stoic.  Let your hair down sometimes, Bubba.

You obviously haven't seen Bubba lead the team in "Stand up and cheer" in the locker room after a W. I saw him talk lots to refs yesterday and you'd look like you were in pain if you were  the coach of a team that's playing guys who SHOULD NOT YET be playing college football games!

  12. Zim made throws I haven't seen Studs make and he did it with a guy in his face.

Bill Walsh could have been the OC in the first half and with H at QB they would have been shutout.  I don't like a lot of Rudy's calls, but that first half is not on him. Bubba decides who starts at QB. It's why he's the head coach.

He is not a college QB, I think that is evident in his two games this season.  Lets get him to a different position and see if he can be a college football player at another position.

Like Jake Hanson, QB from Grafton. Athletes from ND (and elsewhere) should be brought in to play football not just a position.

Tell me again how this opportunity is getting the shaft? All I see are excuses from your last two posts. He should move to TE or LB and contribute. Or quit, since his career is ruined apparently.

And I don't see how he got shafted. He's getting a FAR greater shot than his skill set deserves. Nothing negative about that.

If that happens I'm going to start a "Fire" thread, because that would be ridiculous to start Hiedlebaugh over Z again, although it happened once and it shouldn't have.

I might do it IF H even plays QB again.

Does anyone else want this season to end quick and painless instead of hearing about new injuries every week.

Now that I have no expectations (I suppose that makes me a quitter or something) I am really enjoying watching some of the young guys play and hoping on this team's future regardless of the other conspiracies that may be out there.

One thing, I don't believe Ty Carter is good, but on his worst day, he seems better than Blubaugh. Not dumping on Blubaugh but he isn't ready yet he's getting more reps than Carter.
