Are you saying he made the incorrect read time and time again? Because typically you would either hand it off or throw it. Occasionally you might follow after realizing the throw isn’t there.
Yes. Too often he made bad read

You don't think our go to play the second half of the season where Jerry would fake it to Sawyer and then follow him through a non existent hole should be a staple of our offense next season?
This is a read by the QB. It's an RPO. Why he would fake to the RB then follow him in the non-existent hole is beyond comprehension

Dawg, some of those throws he missed made me yearn for Joey Bradley. Don’t get me wrong, the kid is a gamer and did make some good throws, but there are gaping holes in his game and some of the throws he struggles with are elementary.
I couldn't just Like this I had to thank you for saying it. Gaping holes is right. I hope the new recruit comes in to push him or even better, takes his spot.

Parks and Devereaux will get a lot of time. Do you think they go get an additional LB from the portal? Boll played a bit last year, and they brought in Starcevic. Don’t know enough about the other young guys to know whether they can contribute next year or not. I always get PTSD from 2017, when poor Rastas had to get thrown out there. (And actually held his own at times)
Rastas became my favorite player that year. He may have been 190, but he put his body into every play against a OL who had him by a hundred pounds or a QB whole had him by 50 ponds

Over/under at 16.5 sacks next year for Rucker?
Under
He will be a marked man. Double teamed or at least rubbed on every passing play.

Wondering if the 2 players taking visits yesterday ever encountered a ND winter weather?

I think he is out of eligibility too but I like the Optics of this better than a dude who is Portalling

I know he's a new recruit who has signed, but can he leave at any time in what is now the wild wild west?

Keep in mind this is a self nominated, application by the individual themselves. Instead of applying for this he should have been studying offensive schemes.
Prove it.
I highly doubt that.

That one is a bit puzzling. Guess he’s a find a new team every year type of guy. Also, I thought he had 3 years of eligibility left when he came here?
Maybe he saw the Beavers and took the jump

I interrupt this thread to note that the team south of GF lost a game in which the other team’s QB tossed 5 INTs,
We now return to our regularly scheduled ranting.

No development. No progression. Pure regression. And Coach said it best; the offense lost its mojo and unpredictability; it become way too predictable and couldn’t consistently distribute the ball to all eligibles on the field in the pass game (including TEs and RBs).
Offensive coaching is the reason the opportunity was missed …
Anyone can find Schmidt's post game comments on YouTube.
As to losing the identity he meant the running game and how that redressed over the season. Sawyer also said that in the last few game they couldn't get 6 yards running on first downs.

Who are the redshirts and newcomers (Beavers) who will make a difference next year

Gotta think he's on the hot seat after this loss
It’s good that we can joke about these things

I agree it’s what have you done for me lately, but I note the toughest games on the schedule were at K State and Montana early and they scored 62 when the QB was passing to his teammates and many or them
NO complaints about OC

Exactly. We spread the ball around early on, to multiple receivers and backs, even tight ends were killing it. I am at a loss to figure out why we went away from all that.
Isn’t that in the QBs hands

I have never liked the play calling this season, whether we win or lose. It just didn't cost us sometimes.
Scoring 40 points a game would also silence the doubters

Fruechte is the QB coach. I don't know how much of a "pass" he gets on QB play.
But he can’t make the plays for his QB
Again, I ask, where were the Fire OC guys when Jerry was good?
-
I never heard what Ruckers injury was, but we really missed him

You can defend Mr. B1G/NFL all you want, but he's part of the problem on offense and needs to go. Schmidt needs to put one of his guys in that job
Show me where you complained about OC when Jerry was going pretty well

Did you watch the Bison game?
I did. And I saw the QB under throw a pass for INT with a wide open receiver in the 4th to seal it and he missed a wide open guy on the 4 yard line

Gonna miss him. He is going to make a difference in recruiting.
If Jerry continues to toss bombs to a different zip code next year, I assume that even the staunch critics will see where the real problem was.
