If that happens, will you please let us know what your thoughts are regarding special teams?  ( preferably multiple times over the next year or so).

I’m wondering if we lose by one game if he has any blame on his Heisman winner.

  2. And I think you can’t throw the OC under the bus when the QB can’t do the job.

OC isn’t telling him to whistle passes at wide open receivers.

If I question anything it’s why the OC sticks with him though at this stage he really has no choice,

‘Though Jerry does well with his legs,  Then again we had a running QB last year,

Honestly there’s someone already on offensive staff that you could say is better qualified to run the offense than Fruechte …. he didn’t play in the Big 10 or NFL … but he won FCS national championships as an offensive assistant college coach … something Fruechte can’t claim

I would jump on the OC IF we had a great QB.

We don’t. OC can call all sorts of plays but if QB has no touch, over throws short passes and under throws long passes, Coach Walsh couldn’t look good.

My point is trust the offensive line, quit lining up in shotgun when you need a half yard and run the god damn ball.

The OL could not get the necessary yard on 4th down in the biggest play of the game.

Prior to going to the pass game at the goal line, the OL could not make enough space twice on running plays.

This is not the OL of 2 years ago.

Yes. I was told he probably won’t be back this year. Jerry needs to stay healthy and get back his mojo.

Despite the bizarre and recurrent criticism of Romfo, I believe he is the backup. Before anyone pisses all over their bike horn, maybe take a look at our last two opponents and how a walk on QB (who one guy thinks can’t play at this level) did against USD and NDSU last year.

His 2 game totals included 38 of 53 passes (71%) for 356yds 4 TDs and 0 interceptions. He averaged 3 yds per carry and had 1 TD.

This year against the same 2 opponents our QB was 37 of 68 (54%) for 347yds 0 TDS and 5 interceptions. He averaged 3yds per carry and also had 1 TD

That doesn’t mean we change QB’s, it means we have a capable, experienced QB as our backup.  The unhealthy obsession one guy has with our QBs seems to have convinced some others that if something happens to Jerry all hope is lost. Sulik also can step in but needs more time to develop.  I’m not worried about the backup QB even if JTJ isn’t available.

That’s only my opinion and I don’t ride my bike past FB practices nor have I claimed to be watching UND FB for 20 yrs, so what do I know? Maybe I’m wrong.

I was too lazy to try to find the stats of the 2 QBs so I’m very thankful you dug them out.

For some it won’t matter, but numbers don’t lie.

  6. It's always easy to blame a coach, but when you dial up a great play and your QB sends the ball to the other team it's not the coach's fault.

The Moving Company could not squeeze a few inches at the goal line on the firt 2 times they had the ball. The same is true when the game was on the line and the OL could not get one dang yard.

Need to do better. If they had there would be no talk of canning coaches.

I wonder if Sam herder will still say NDSU is in a tier of their own?

I wanna see this team do something never done before in the D1 era, make a deep run in the playoffs! If there is a UND team that can do it is this one!

The QB is not a QB who can win playoff games for long

UND's defense should curbstomp the offensive players btw. Held NDSU under 20 and lost. The defense deserves better

    D has been great.

Home...settling in and watching UND hockey. A program is judged on wins and losses. This team is 6-4. Watching live today just reaffirmed what UND FB is and has been for a decade plus. It's questionable to poor coaching decisions, poor execution especially on special teams, bad penalties and turnovers, and pissing away winnable games. Payton was not good and is so overrated it's laughable. Problem is Jerry was worse. Play calling in every game of significance is borderline atrocious. As a FB program in a watered down FCS I want nice things...not "we are close" or "next season". I'm over that after 10+ years.

I agree with the line about Jerry but I can’t blame playcalling  when the QB tosses the ball over and under wide open receivers

If you're going for it on 4th and inches at midfield you'd better make darn sure to get it.  That one hurt.

That has to be on the Moving Co.  Could not make space for 1 damn yard

  11. I know some won’t like this but Jerry is not a National Title QB

Overthrew a wide receiver last week at end of game. Did it again at goal line in first half then under threw a wide open receiver in the 4th today to clinch it.

also the moving Co couldn’t make space for 1 yard when it was needed the most

Its hard to be a UND fan

It's wild that they are charging $90 per ticket.  I believe our season tickets were $160 for 6 games.  Quite a bargain.

Perhaps that's why the price for tix this week was so high. It's better to buy season tix. Maybe people will think of getting season tix.

The bison fans do it. The 6 tix in the row ahead of ours are owned by a Fargo Investment firm. I'm guessing we see Bison fans on Saturday.

there are missed passes and there are bounce passes....

every QB good or bad will miss passes but if you lose track of how many bounce passes a QB throws....that's not good.

Today had Jerry bounced passes instead of tossing them to the wrong team, we may have won.

these two int's were the first two that Jerry "threw'...the others were defections....

so who coached these bigs to just stand there and look like statues....what's the definition of insanity again?

Because you are so good at remembering bad things, make sure you share with us some of the many passes that were too far for open receivers today.

  15. I'm calming down a bit. Need to understand that this team is still 2 years away from getting all the players this staff wants.

There's lots of good on the D, I think the QB is fine, but will have more struggles against better teams and I need to lower expectations for the next few weeks.

Can't have that many TO's and hope to W.

Not blaming refs and you can, but this team took too many stupid penalties today.

Is the opening spread next week Bison 14.5 or more?

This team hasn’t been able to convert on a game winning drive yet this year.

i like Jerry but he has a ways to go to be a top level QB. I think he will show a lot of improvement in the next year but today was pretty brutal overall.
This is a game they should’ve won but didn’t. Hopefully they use this as a learning experience. Probably wrecks any chance for a first round bye so their chance to win a title got immensely more difficult.
Could be undefeated but instead lost three games. The best teams would have found a way to win at least two of those three.

And this is why he did not start last year. The coaches saw it.

you've been waiting how many weeks to post that....he's wasn't great but ST and questionable offensive play calls were garage....

please help me understand that last play?

No I think he's a good QB but all year he has airmailed wide open receivers. We've been winning so it was not a big deal.

The lazy pass he made for an INT in the first half was a killer.
