  1. Is the gameday facility not more important? The soccer field looks trash it's almost as bad as softball playing at Apollo.
  2. Recruiting for softball and soccer must be pretty terrible for coaches at UND. Softball just got a big upgrade and so that should help them out but that soccer field is a joke they should play at a local high school instead. Or, could UND make a sport that people actually care about the Premier sport and just send soccer back to their corner?
  3. I don't think any of the opinions will matter if it turns out UND are not title 9 compliant. I do think they can be more competitive but the best years in program history for softball and soccer have happened with the current head coaches and in the end who really cares about soccer? We want the hockey team to win and football/basketball would be great.
  4. If soccer moved into the women's hockey space after the program was cut it would make sense to think they are the title 9 equivalent of the men's hockey team. I don't think it would take a lawyer to realize that the field doesn't exactly scream equity if you compare it to where hockey plays. That could be a major problem for UND.
  5. I don't think there can really be much of a complaint about the Ralph but has anyone seen that field? They have a shed for a press box and there is nowhere for the 25 people that show up to even sit. From what I remember when women's hockey was cut soccer was put in the Ralph to balance hockey for title 9. If you compare where the hockey team play to where the soccer team play I think there is probably some type of equity argument.
  6. In recent years the firings of head coaches have all been on the women's side. Basketball, Volleyball, Golf. Additionally, most of the firings of assistants have occurred in women's sports. How many firings have happened with men's programs despite the poor performances? Chaves is responsible for the firing of head coaches no doubt. The interesting aspect of this is how several former head coaches are coming together to take this complaint forwards. One other issue is that Chaves and more recently the new SWA are strong arming head coaches of women's sports to axe their assistants but won't do the same with the men's sports.
  7. It sounds like with the dismissal of Coach Mo there has been some former coaches beginning to band together due to all the dismissals in the women's programs as opposed to the men's and it is going to Armacost and the media. Former head coaches of women's sports that have details of how Chaves happily fires coaches on the women's side of athletics but not the men's and also preferential treatment to men's coaches and programs. One of these former coaches has already spoken to the Herald and there seems to be some digging going on around the programs. More details to come.
