  1. On a positive note, Buxton/Kepler made solid contact on a baseball. On a negative note Twins Twitter is now responding to an angry fanbase. I think they need a road trip.
  2. He's got 100 hits....and the closest Twins player has 51.....
  3. I'm really over analytics in baseball. Thankfully MLB eliminated the over shifting and made pitchers and hitters pick up the pace to make the games not last four hours. I allow myself to get over excited by success, and ticked off when they lose three of four to the mighty Tigers, and then bombed by a team that played a double header the day before and got into Minnesota the wee hours of Monday morning. Can't convince myself they are a .500 team. Interesting to see if they are buyers or sellers at the deadline.
  4. Or extend Rocco even longer.
  5. Drop three of four to Detroit after sweeping the crew. Gallo and Kepler not able to hit water if they fell out of a boat at the moment. The AL Central has seen better days.
  6. I remember watching his son Marc play for Red River years back and just being amazed by his strength, only to be told a number of times "you should've seen his dad."
  7. RIP to former player Rob Mihulka who passed away four days ago after a battle with cancer.
  8. My favorite one. "Gopher hockey is tape to tape."
  9. Always gets me. The pure emotion when they hand out the cup. It's just a different ceremony than the rest. Will never forget Eddie B getting his skate with the cup. What a moment.
  10. Ya know, lot of big/great hockey players wearing #2 for UND, but I think my favorite #2 of all time was a 5'10, 180 pound Canadian kid who plays with a ton of piss and vinegar and came out of every battle with the puck.
  11. The three guys with slugging percentages below .400 and averages below .215 go deep. Funny game. I didn't watch the game but was told by my old man that there was like a three inning conversation on striking out too much vs. hitting the long ball by Bremer and company.
  12. I think Hastings had the model in place to be successful year after year.
  13. He pitched that entire game too? Maybe baseball isn't for you? Won the game by himself....lol.... I'll be done arguing though. Have a good evening.
  14. Ohhh....this is why....okay.
  15. Yup, you're right Correa is killing it.
  16. I think the Mets are in over reaction mode and would trade for Correa. That allows the Twins to have Farmer play short until Brooks is ready, and gets rid of a lot of money. Plus the Mets may throw Parada, Ramirez, or a Mauricio in the deal to sweeten it.
  17. Crazy stat. Would be in last place in the AL East. At some point heads need to start to roll. Falvey, Levine, Rocco, Kepler. If there is a team stupid enough to trade for Correa at the deadline you make the move.
  18. One hundred percent. It's unacceptable to strike out as much as the Twins have, but this regime is okay with it obviously. The bomba year set this franchise back years. We all enjoyed it but had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.
  19. I don't know what is more entertaining, watching Luis Arraez put up Tony Gwynn type numbers, or watching people (Twins apologists) just refer to a guy hitting .400 as "not a big deal" and "he's just a singles hitter". He's struck out less the entire season than the Twins did last night in Tampa. I'd say the group is possibly missing some piranhas type contact guys. Gosh I miss those teams, and I'll eat crow and say I miss Gardy. Can't believe I said that.
  20. New NCHC head of officials is Mike Schmitt. Which means we can officially close the book on an official that once said "I just make things up as I go along." Interesting side bar, I once called a penalty during a men's league game in Minot on Mike. And yes, he argued all the way to the box.
  21. Goalies: -Swede....32 -Kaleb.....1 -Hobie.....30
  22. I had the chance to talk to him a bit this year and he is just a fantastic young coach in the hockey world. Humble, and a guy that kids like to play for. He will be a head coach in the NCAA one day. Mike Hastings putting together a fabulous staff for the badgers. Makes me wonder what the next step for Chad Demers is. Hope is health is okay.
  23. Anywhere with an actual fanbase or rink. So Like 90 percent of the league. Gophs lucky he's in that dumpster fire organization.
