  1. Beer #4.....but I'm not the man I once was....plus I have to call the wife later and pretend I'm not enjoying myself.
  2. A bigger prediction is how many beers I can drink before the nightcap when I get to St. Paul. Regardless I bet I don't end up in prison for pushing a senior citizen down the stairs. UND 4....Western 1 Wilbur beers before puck drop: 7
  3. They had to give it to him because what guy gets engaged in college while being on the most popular sports team in town? "Hey ladies.....yeah I'm the captain... ohh sorry I'm engaged"
  4. Berry wins COTY. Ford wins DFOTY, Frisch wins DDOTY. Fanti well deserving of the goaltender honor. Had a great year for the Dawgs, congrats to him. My heart goes out to Driscoll though because he is the reason UND shared the league title with Denver. The goaltending UND got down the stretch was incredible.
  5. I'd be in favor of bringing him to Gf, but with Hedquist coming in it won't happen.
  6. I was super impressed with him when he was going well last season. Kind of like Ben Kraws for Miami who ended up at ASU. Big guy that moves well.
  7. Count myself in sir. Me and at least one more guy will be there.
  8. Thats such a bang bang play. It does look like it got knocked in with his glove, but was it intentional? Honestly if I was them I probably leave it as a good goal.
  9. I'll take full responsibility for the end. I told my best friend that I was at the game with the only way CC gets a chance to tie this up is a late penalty on us. 5x5 they weren't going to generate anything, and they were fine with playing 4 guys back and watching us put a guy 5 feet from their blue line and deflecting pucks deep on outlets from our d men. On a side note, #1 star was Driscoll because of his work at the end. Guy absolutely battled to keep the puck out. Love Peter Thome. Great person, won some games for us, but is the team in this position with him in the net?
  10. No goal. In arena so I don't have a good view.
  11. As good as they are with the puck, Shaugaby's line is a huge liability in their own end. Talk about playing above the circles in your own end. Wide open hockey. Not good for the goalie moms....
  12. What a great first period. I like this goalie for Warroad. The Hammer. Dad played at UND, and with the forwards that this kid practices against every day he's only going to get that much better.
  13. I'm always on the side of "just let them play" if its consistent. When I was officiating that was the bar I tried to set. If my partner called something a bit on the "ticky tack" side then that was the precedent and I would try and call the game to that standard. I was perfectly fine with Walsh/Schmitt letting a lot of that stuff go against a team like CC because they aren't going to generate stuff against us 5 on 5, and in the world of hockey officiating we all know the marbles need to "even up" in the long run. The only chance CC had to score in the third was a dumb mistake on our end or a power play, and the amount of stuff that they let go there was no way they could call a marginal one on UND. Now, if we're playing Duluth, we've got to have those power plays or we aren't going to generate anything.
  14. I think something that gets overlooked by our fanbase is how lucky we've been in the faceoff circle. Our best draw guy is out last night and we still end up slightly ahead in that category going 31-28. Maybe puck possession wasn't the best thing last night though since both teams weren't great when they did have possession.
  15. I'm not sure how you could best describe that game. CC, I believe, had two quality scoring chances all evening and scored on one of them. UND just not in sync, and very early into the game both teams had 5 guys clogging up the neutral zone making it an ugly evening. I was waiting the entire third period for CC to tie the game up, but UND didn't make a costly mistake and the game ends 2-1.
  16. CC playing a great first period and Bast just took the "I may be hurt skate".
  17. If you ask nicely enough on this message board.....we know a guy that is huge at posting links to games....
  18. Hermantown does this to just about everyone in the A level. What they did to Denfeld in a section championship game shouldn't happen in a tournament final.
  19. Hard gets the game winner on the power play after watching Shaugaby take away his back door tap in chance 30 seconds before that.
  20. Boy thoughts of an almost full lineup....well aren't we special. Overwhelm them please. UND 6 CC 2
  21. The right team won. I was pulling for the Spuds, but they got outplayed in OT.
  22. Boy, that OT was all Andover. For playing four lines most of the night the Spuds just had no zip at all there. That's such a tough place to be as an official. You lose sight, blow it, and then there is the puck laying there uncovered.
  23. How on earth does that kid get out of the state albeit the region? A big kid with swagger that can skate and finish. I'm upset as a UND fan, how must the gopher fans feel?
  24. Mahtomedi wins....surprise. I'll be following Ben Dardis down the road. 60 wins as a high school goaltender is a pretty good statistic, plus a fantastic shutout streak. Wonder where he is headed next year as far as the future of his hockey career? The likely Brimsek award winner.
