Cronin complained about the checking from behind penalty call on Carter Lee. He said he didn't see it, but one of his assistants did and it was "bogus." He said a UND player should have been called for it on Friday night.

If we state that the Fighting Sioux logo represents someone who is gay, maybe all the PC people will leave it alone. Wouldn't it be hypocritical of them to bash a gay logo?

Both Parise & Bochenski were named the #1 star in each of their games tonight. Bochenski w/ 3g & 1a, Parise with 1g plus one more in the shoot-out.

Considering it was a pre-season game with a couple of big names out, I thought it was a great game. The fan turnout was surprising and the atmosphere for a Wild/Panther game was very good. IMO, this game, by far, was better than the two previous Wild games at the Ralph.

Interesting.....I was told from a somewhat reliable source this past week that Ralph did indeed put this in his will. He also supposedly set aside between 35-38 million to pay fro the demolition if indeed they ever do change the name. Of course this could be a rumor, but I would hate to find out if it was true.

Hey GrahemCrackhead~ Are you going to go after the local police force next for having a "Chief" of police? Or is that okay with you since they are respected leaders in the society? What if UND changed its nickname to the Fighting Chiefs? I suppose you would get your thong in a bunch over that as well.

UND could have two in the top five with Toews and possibly Dowzak. Minnesota will have two top 5 picks in Kessel & Wheeler.

EDIT: H. Most UND students had left for the holiday break. I fully understand that the UND students left for break and this isn't about them. They are without a doubt great supporters of the hockey program. My rant is about the community as a whole. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I was in Winnepeg a couple of nights ago and they (Canadians) were extremelly pissed about what the hotels are doing. It sounded like alot of them will be driving back and forth for exactly this reason. I totally understand raising the price when the demand is there, but the price gouging by many is just over the top.

I was at the Canada vs. Finland game on Monday night and all I can say about the whole experience was WOW!!! Canada is unbeleivable.......won 6-0 and outshot the Fins 41-10. Linemates, Patrice Bergeron had 2g and 1a while Sidney Crosby had 1g 2a. In my opinion, the only way any team has a chance at beating Canada is a very hot goalie. Granted, Finland looked awful, but Canada was simply phenomenal. On this same topic, the NTS Centre in Winnepeg was completely sold out (15,000+) and the fans were super. A complete flip-flop from the USA vs. Sioux game on Sunday. How is it possible that the USA can be playing the regions favorite hockey team and not even fill the Ralph to half capacity? What a joke! I sure hope American hockey fans will take some lessons from the Canucks from up North during this tournament, because, as fans, we have a lot of room for improvement.

I know Whitey's and The KooKoo's Nest (sp) will definately be open on Christmas......they are also located in EGF which makes it legal to be open and serve on Christmas.

I would be shocked if either one of them were named to the team.........since they are to old. Last year should've/could've been their year. If I remember correctly, Potulny didn't miss the age cut by very much this year. By the way, Minnesota is steam-rolling right now and will be tough for anyone to beat, regardless of the size of the ice they are playing on.
