She loves the Sioux more than anything else I can think of. I think it's one of the first words she learned how to spell, it was written on the driveway with sidewalk chalk one day when I got home from work.

Would you have been fired if you had directly contacted the NCAA on the nickname issue? Just wondering, I think some members of the faculty should be for doing it.

On the WDAZ news clip the other night covering the one-sided panel, they were showing all of the former logos. I thought the same thing........move out of the past.

It makes me feel a lot better that Spirit Lake knows that panel was one-sided.

Like I was telling a friend today.....what's to stop the NCAA from banning teams from post season every couple of years? Say they give these schools an exemption this year, and then decide to ban them next year. A favorable court ruling would stop that from happening and it would mean a lot more.

I disagree with you. I took someone to court and a lot of good came out of it, things that will affect people's lives. Going to court isn't always a bad thing.

Lol, I was just about to say that I was going to seperate those two. "Don't make me stop this car!" I say we fight the NCAA in court. Bring it on. The only thing that I have heard is that the Spirit Lake Nation is going to decide their stance only after they meet with UND. Hopefully, all goes well and they open a door to a relationship.

Yeah. Why not? Would have made for an interesting ride there. For some reason I think they would have stopped somewhere after half an hour of riding with me for a pop, and I would have been left behind.

I still think that the NCAA is wrong on making a decision to ban certain teams and not ban others. I'm not a fan of any of the Bush's but I do agree with Jeb's comment that it was a "really stupid decision" on the part of the NCAA. If the NCAA won't admit that they were wrong, let's let the courts decide.

I like Max Osceola. I like what he had to say. Someone should tell Shelley Smith that it is the Stanford Cardinal, and not the Cardinals though. So far, I've only seen Native Americans that support the teams, and none that oppose.

The Seminole Tribe in Oklahoma was in favor of Florida State using the Seminole name. They voted 18-2 to shoot down a measure calling for FSU to not use the name. (When was that June of 2005, 2004? I can't remember) The NCAA was wrong in saying that the tribe in Oklahoma opposed the nickname.
