Last season was freaking incredible! Maybe GK doesn't understand the whole athletic thing, maybe, just maybe, GK has never participated in athletics, or never even been a fan of athletics. Maybe he's never stood at the top of Hyslop and looked down at the floor completely covered in sweat, wondering how he was going to walk down one last time because he just spent 30 minutes running up and down those steps. Maybe he's never felt the pain of lactic acid building up in his muscles from the hard work of training day in and day out. Lifting weights until you just can't stand up off of a bench. Maybe he's never experienced the blood, sweat and tears that it takes to wear an athletic uniform.

My oldest has one of those. He may be wearing it today.

I haven't said one of those things to you. So why are you telling me if you had a quarter for everytime you heard them you'd be rich? Does that somehow justify that it's okay for you to hate white people. Really the only thing that you are saying by posting that is that white people are stupid because they have said those things to you. There you go again, not winning the battle so you resort to the only thing you know how to do-cut people down. I'm not perfect. Never said I was. No one can be perfect like you. I never said my children know everything about the Sioux. Cultural sensitivity. Maybe that's something that you should look into. Instead of teaching people about your culture, you insult them and say they are stupid because they don't know absolutely everything about your culture. I've already taught my children that they should not judge people on things that are beyond their control, such as race, sex and so on.

So what you are saying is that if I said "I even have Indian friends" and someone pointed out to me that I was catagorizing my friends by their skin color, as I just did to you. I be able to say what you just said above and everthing would be okay? Highly unlikely. It doesn't work for me, it doesn't work for you. You're not making a mockery you're digging yourself a bigger hole everytime you open your mouth.

Based on your posts on this board, yes you do. That's just an odd statement. But, congratulations, none the less. I'm glad that you group your friends into color catagories. The friends that I have aren't color-coded into catagories they're just my friends.

Anyone who brings Engelstad Arena or Ralph Engelstad into this debate is merely jealous of what he has donated to this University. And we all know that jealousy is the highest form of flattery.

I just caught up in this thread and I have to say that I am absolutely disgusted with your comments, GK. You owe her more than taking that out of your post. Sioux-cia, what you have done in you life is admirable, and I respect that. It's amazing that some people who have had hardships in their lives aren't CONSTANTLY whining and complaining about it, and blaming everyone else for their misfortunes. Maybe some people should take a long-hard look at this and realize that you get much more out of life when you ACTUALLY do something about it rather than just whining, complaining and pointing fingers.

Actually, GK, the only hate here is the hate you have for white people, and the hate you have for everyone that disagrees with you.

It's so easy to be standing on the outside and saying, "just change the name". It's easy to say something like that when you really don't care. As for me.....you can't help what you love and there are a lot of people out there who love the Fighting Sioux. It is an emotional thing for me. It's an emotional thing for all the Sioux fans that I know. It does disappoint me that the NCAA thinks the Seminoles, Chippewa, Utes, and Aztecs are not hostile and abusive, but the Sioux are. The University of North Dakota should fight this until ALL remedies are fully exhausted. I expect nothing less.

I see an injunction against the NCAA, because this won't be over by then, allowing the Fighting Sioux to wear the jerseys that they wear now. Nevermind, I screwed that up should have read a little better. I vote for plain jane practice jerseys with the numbers on the back of them with stick tape.

The fight in court wouldn't be just about the NCAA dropping the 'hostile and abusive', it would be about the NCAA limiting certain schools' post-season play and refusing to let them wear their logos in post-season play, which is as much of a violation of the First Amendment as refusing to let school children wear black arm bands in protest of a war.

I believe that Dakotans would also be considered 'hostile and abusive' by the NCAA because Dakota is a Native American name. Kupchella brought this up in a press conference shortly after this all broke.
