Here is my unofficial prediction for the rest of the season UND wins next 3 games, loses to ndsu and UST, enters final game against USD 6-9 USD wins next 2 against ORU and KC, loses next 4 against xdsu’s, Omaha, and UST, enters final game against UND 7-8. UND beats USD to finish 7-9 and gets tie breaker (no idea how that works) to get the 5 seed. UND beats 4 seed ndsu on a buzzer beater in round one of the SLT. Omaha gets 1 seed but is upset by ORU in opening round. UND beats ORU by 17 in the semis UND plays SDSU in the championship and loses by 36

We agree on Chaves You can miss me with the location stuff though. Basketball is a global game. It’s not like football where you have a pipeline to a few states. The Summit player of the year is from Australia and had college stops in Arizona and Washington. He’s now playing in Brookings, SD. He’s not playing there because of the location. The only pipeline I think a UND coach should have is to the Twin Cities. It’s not as easy with St Thomas being D1 but there is plenty of talent to go around in that area.

For reference the average attendance Brian Jones last year was 1,654. His team was 12-18. The average attendance last year 1,733. That team was the greatest team ever according to some. Huge spike in attendance 🔥

If all that happened he would have a career winning percentage of 36%. And you want to give him a multi year extension? Yea I think expectations should be higher than that. Why? Because that’s pathetic

To me if they go 5-2 (really 6-2 if you count Saturday) that means they beat the teams they should, plus beat another top 3 team in the conference. Then if they win 2 games in the SLT that means they likely beat 2 top 4 seeds. That would be a pretty good run to end the year and worth adding a year to his contract (if adding just a single year is even a thing).

Two weeks ago I predicted a 7-9 conference record so I’ll stick with that. I think a minimum for an extension would be go 5-2 and win 2 games in the SLT. At the end of the day he’s still a coach that’s won roughly 33% of his games in 6 years
