I guess I just don’t understand taking these long term projects that may not even be d1 talent. With high majors filling a majority of their open roster spots with transfers, there’s a major trickle down in the level of high school talent that low majors can capitalize on. There’s no reason some of these kids on our roster shouldn’t be a Mary or Minot playing and developing. If they’re truly d1 players, we can grab them out of the portal later on

I know he's a long term project that fits the 3 & D mold. I'm just a little worried because we already have 2 ND kids on the roster who were long term projects and they appear no where near ready to contribute 2 years later.

Darik Dissette from NDSU will be entering the portal. We offered out of high school. He can’t shoot but I would like to bring him in. Bringing in ndsu transfers worked out well for Omaha this year

The good thing is it is very easy to get good guards out of the portal. USD found 2 guards better than the guy they had on their roster that averaged 16 ppg the year before
