You haven't answered why Duluth and Denver have won those three recent championships. Hint: they didn't do it with freshmen. Why have those programs been able to keep players for 3 or 4 years?

So you want more flashy players who play a season and a half, or do want a national championship? Tell me, how did Denver and Duluth win those titles?

To me the biggest disappointment in recent years has been Jake Sanderson. Came and went. Flash in the pan. Played the equivalent of a season and a half for the Sioux. Got a lot of ink but left no legacy. We don't need any more short timers like that, especially the injury prone type. One and done or two and flew programs don't win championships.

What would a split do for us in the Pairwise?

This is where we lost the game to WMU for certain. Hopefully the coaches have had them working on that this week. Notre Dame is bigger than us so it has to be stressed. Also clearing the zone is huge. Notre is very good at capitalizing on clearing and breakout turnovers.

Notre Dame has the second weakest power play of the 16 teams in the tournament. The weakest? Duluth.

I’ve watched Notre Dame play several times this season. They are strong forecheckers and score a lot on forced turnovers. Strong defensively, giving up barely over 2 goals per game. Not a strong offense as you said, and one of the weakest power plays in the Big 10. The team that scores two will likely win this game. Three for sure. I like our chances too.

Hate to say I told ya so, but… UND vs ND in Albany it is.

That’s possible but makes less sense than just putting UND up against Notre Dame in Albany. Besides “Wooster” is a crap hole. Should have never been a selected site in the first place.

Do you think they’ll put UND in same bracket as Western Michigan to set up a game with them for the 6th time? I think not. I see us heading to Albany for a date with Notre Dame, then possibly Mankato. It makes no difference whether four teams from the NCHC make the FF. Let the cards fall where they may.
