  1. Edmonton leads 1-0 after the 1st period. Oilers playing pretty physical tonight.
  2. I don't know how comfortable I'd be playing for a team named the "Baby Penguins." Sounds like a mites team!
  3. It was great to see the patriotism. Same thing happened the World Finals of "Odyssey of the Mind" competition in Iowa this year, which is a competition for grade school kids to display their creativity. They played a short portion of the national anthems from all the countries involved. When it came to the US, the majority of 10,000 people, with the majority of them being grade school kids, sang the entire Star Spangled Banner. Awesome sight to see kids with that much patriotism.
  4. Yep...too old for this one.
  5. It wasn't Commie, but Craig Adams, who wears #27, which can easily be confused with #22 (Commie). Greene was hitting him pretty good because Adams was holding his stick, and Matt was trying to get it loose.
  6. Not looking good for Edmonton at this point, though I don't know if anyone expected differently when Rollie the Goalie went down. John Davidson gave Matt Greene the nickname, "Mean Matt Greene" tonight. It was rather amusing. He commented how Greene is mean back there. On his next shift, Matt took a crosschecking penalty, and Davidson comments, "And now Mean Matt Greene is in the box for crosschecking." When the penalty expired, Matt had somewhat of a breakaway, but hit the side of the net. Nice to see him getting some good exposure.
  7. And I think Watkins will contribute well on the scoreboard too! I haven't forgot about your DVD of the Prpich fight game either. Just been busy with school work.
  8. Who? I don't think there is such a person on this board anymore. How about we return to the topic of the thread?
  9. The food was only half of it. The environment along with the grinders make the place great.
  10. I agree. The worst part of it is that the Carolina player had lost the puck, and Roloston had made the save before Bergeron pushed him into Roloston. Granted, play at that speed pretty much made it unavoidable, but it's sad to see it happen when it didn't save a goal.
  11. The Red Pepper!!! (My vote anyway). I miss that place.
  12. That's why he was one of the favorites for the Conn Smythe trophy??
  13. Providing Carolina plays like they did in the first two periods tonight.
  14. Rolo gone for the series. Tough break for Edmonton. EDIT: Knee injury. MacTavish comment, "Goalies not good."
  15. The first 2 periods were totally different than the 3rd. Terrible period cost them the game. However, on the other end, Carolina looked terrible the first 2 periods, and turned it on in the 3rd.
  16. What!!?? Channel 16 (or at least it was when I lived there). Great curling action all winter long! I can't believe you don't watch that!
  17. Tough one for Conklin. Has to come into the game in the middle of the 3rd, tied at 4, and then gives one up himself. That's what you get from a Hockey East goalie!
  18. Brind'Amour scores with 31 seconds left to give Carolina the 5-4 lead.
  19. Edmonton ties it up on a PP goal. Let's go for OT!
  20. Edmonton continues to fall apart. Carolina now up 4 to 3. Shorthanded goal by Justin Williams.
  21. Edmonton has fallen apart in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd period. Tie game. 3-3.
  22. 3rd Period about to begin, 3-1 Edmonton.
  23. Mike Commodore with a beautiful back-sliding block, which leads to Carolina's first goal of the night. Nice play Mike!
  24. I would estimate that it's between 35 and 40 mph. Back in my youth (about the age of the average college hockey player), I was able to rollerblade 28mph, as per my buddies spedometer on his bike. I was in pretty good shape, though nothing compared to college and pro athletes. I feel that you can get better grip on ice than roller blades on pavement, as the blade of a skate will grip ice. It would be interesting to see an accurate mph on this.
  25. Parise gets an assist on the first goal in tonights game. Go Debbies!
