  1. And no knock on Sandelin but he'd likely agree, what "worked best" for him in 2011 was the Sioux losing "cus of Haks coaching" (give me a break) to Mich in the opposite semi-final.

In that same vein, Michigan losing to BU in '97 worked out pretty well for Blais.
  2. Anything is better than those clowns they had doing the 2000 NCAA title game.  Man, I half expected them to fight over who gets to take Doug Flutie out to dinner!

Jack Edwards is awesome, obviously, because he calls Bruins games on NESN.  Not trying to turn this into a Bruins thread...really...I'm not.   :D

On a side note...during one of NESN's broadcasts of "The Instigators" this past year, Jack went on a mini-rant about how he thought the Fighting Sioux logo was the best in college hockey and how it was a crying shame we had to give it up.  Loved it!

  3. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I'm a big believer in juju. We've won the last two games with you starting it. Go for it. I'm all about it.

I left my Sioux jersey and sweatshirt at my buddy's house since last Saturday and it will not move until we win it all or not. We also ate Taco Bell before Friday's game and Chipotle before Saturday's. We are both already scoping out the nearest Mexican establishment for Thursday.

As Crash Davis once said, "A player on a streak has to respect the streak."

We got really, really sick of eating at the same places during the Final Five for four straight years!  Didn't quite work the 4th time.

  4. I brought this up a little while back but no one really dug into it, but, I'll give it another go. Obviously we'll see a lot of BU fans, but do the other Boston fans (ie. BC, Harvard, NE) cheer for BU or us? I feel like the eastern love may overshadow their hatred for BU. Am I wrong? I hope so. It'd be nice to have a few extra fans on our side.

They just sell their tickets to more BU fans...at ridiculously high prices. :)

  5. I think Zane comes back. Boston is pretty stacked at the goalie position. They have 2 goalies in the AHL with .920+ save percentage. One having .930 and the other being Malcolm Subban. I don't know where he would end up playing next year if he signed with Boston. Play here one more year and then sign with a team without a log jam at goalie.

The "log jam" behind Rask may not be as solid as it seems.  Both Subban and Svedberg have shown a tendency to be up-and-down with their play.  I guess one could blame that on youth, but there was some talk of Subban being moved near the trade deadline.  The Bruins could be considered "rich" at goalie, and I wouldn't put it past them to move one of those guys to bolster the roster in other areas - especially if they feel Zane has long-term potential.

  6. finally get my answer.  from my viewpoint, Stetcher wound up and tried to crank it deep but the puck ended up hitting a stachion....boom 2 on 1 the other way.

Stecher actually shot it into another Sioux player and it led to the 2-on-1.

  7. Damn glad I get to go to a real arena today to watch the Wild at the X. As the game went on at Target Center the more I disliked it. At first I thought this isn't so bad and I even told Snake that. But damn the place needs to get its shyt together in the future or I may never come back.

I sure hope they can get it together, but the year one to year two "improvements" are hardly visible. I was pretty upset that it took 20 minutes to get through the lobby and into the game. The TSA screening was a bit over the top. As for the game experience, I cant understand why they don't use the fascia scoreboard to display the score and game time like every other arena in the country. It was odd having to look up to the center-hung scoreboard all the time.

I think my favorite part of the game was the Mountain Dew chugging contest.

  8. It shouldn't be 21+ for pregame festivities or even after UND plays.  After the late game, however, most likely 21+.  I would guess the cutoff time would be around 10 PM.

This is correct.  I just called the Pourhouse and they said minors are allowed until 10PM.

  9. IIRC, MN played early as the top seed at the X last year, but we played the late game in Cincy vs 1 seed Wisconsin. The eastern regionals both had the 1 seeds playing the early game. It's probably partially up to ESPN and who they want to televise on the networks vs streaming on ESPN3.

  10. They have re-entry, so you can leave and get back in the same day with your ticket and wristband you get when leaving.

    RE-ENTRY POLICY

Fans can exit the tournament and return at any time - they just need to pick up a re-entry wristband on their way out. They will need to present the wristband and tournament ticket for re-admission to the event.

Ahh, yes, the wristbands. Forgot about that. Glad to see they're keeping the same re-entry policy this year.

  11. Do we get kicked out between games

Are there good places to eat & get back in time for the second game - I miss the X & McGovern's already

You do not have to leave between games, there is only one ticket for each daily session.  Last year we were able to get scanned out, grab a bite to eat, then scan back in for the second game.  I'm hoping their re-entry policy is the same this year.
