3x3 for ten minutes. Winner gets three points. Loser gets one, and a tie is zero. Giving teams points for tying doesn’t make any sense. Reward the winner, and give the other team a consolation. Can’t be having Miami finish the year with zero points…

    Let's go back to 5x5, 10 minutes.

    Win=2 pts

Tie=1 point each (if the favorite has to win by playing a pick up game then they don't deserve it)

    Loss=0 points.

I don't know why it changed from 2 pts for a win to 3, but it's just stupid. The NHL was this way for DECADES. Why the change? Who the heck knows...

Totally agree. I think UNO is average at best. The whole league is down other than Denver. Easily the least amount of talent I have seen in this league since it's creation!

Say what you would like, but they are a young team that had they not taken a bad weekend to begin (Niagara) they'd be 8th in the pairwise. I agree that they are our 'best' chance but they are far from average.

I think Chrona learned a painful lesson in sticking his nose where it didn’t belong. Double teaming Beck from behind is kind of a bush league move. I guess he got the last laugh with the victory so whatever.

He should be suspended for that crap. Contact with the head (intentional) with the blocker and the stick.

Omaha somehow up to 2nd in the league right now.
That's hard to believe...I was not impressed with them at all in their series against UND at the REA.
UND outshot them handily both nights.

Yeah, those losses to Niagara really messed up their PW

The lone Omaha goal occurs when all five UND skaters and the goalie do a quick huddle in the corner below the goal line, leaving all five Omaha skaters alone with the puck in front of our goal. This occurs with 3.4 seconds left in the first period.

What does omaha have to do with this weekend? Stay focused!

Epic proportions?  You must be new around here.  This place was on FIRE around the time North Dakota was getting bounced on the Frozen Four semi-finals circa 2005-2008.

Glad I missed that! Geez-Louise, not sure I could have weathered that storm! Not sure I even played around on the Insultnet back then. I just want everyone to put down their Monster Energy drink and relax! You know western Minnesota is kinda laid back, don’t get too worked up ‘round here. Too busy fishing the ‘hard water’…

So we shouldn't question decisions, tactics and strategies that simply have not worked? And a coaching staff that is clearly lost as to how to turn it around? Whatever makes you sleep better at night, I guess.

Never said that, but the negativity on the board is reaching epic proportions. There is little wonder that our opponents are enjoying this, given the behavior when we are winning. I’m just saying things are neither that good, nor that bad. BB isn’t on the ice, not responsible for their play, merely for their preparation. Everyone drooled at the incoming year after year, these are different players, not raised like us. They don’t respond to tradition, hard work nor ‘frank discussion’. The stars ARE the problem, not the solution. I see a lot of individual play, no more than that. Shuffle the deck, start over, from the ground up.

We need more noise in the Ralph.  Here is a crazy thought about keeping the atmosphere supporting the Sioux during the game and
the noise level at a high level. Recruit two or more people in each section to get their section excited
and focuses on noise and other types of support. That does not mean they have to always work to
keep the people on their feet but when they notice a drop off off noise or support for the team,
those people in their section challenges their section to some pre-determined section special Sioux
cheer. Examples: “Come on section 208 - Lets show them we are the Sioux’s biggest fans - then
chant - you may be FCS in football but we own you in hockey” or “ “Come on section 136 - Lets
show them we are the Hawks biggest fans - then chant - ”Hey section 137 Go Hawks - pass it on -
and continue to out shout the sections” Well this is just a thought - but we need noise at the game.

I have a better idea… how about the players generate the noise through brilliant defense, power offense with sweet passing and brick wall goaltending. The rest will take are of itself. Go Sioux!

I had that in my job, not posting but comments.  I finally told one guy if you are so smart come do my job for a day.  He said he wouldn’t know how but he was sure I didn’t know how either.  40 years later I retried :)

My old boss told me that what I did was easy (I was a Category Director for proteins). Got to a point where I retired rather than listen to his crap all day. Turns out that he got demoted because he couldn't "do my job". I still chuckle over the details. Life is good! :whistling:

Our troubles don’t stem from what other teams are doing.
Our problems are almost always a result of self-inflicted mistakes

—>  A lack of attention to detail, lack of poise, can’t play a full 60, not learning from mistakes, etc. etc.

and that is exactly the position that puts us where we are. What other teams are doing directly affects how we are playing. If North Dakota coaches realized that, they might actually evolve and try something different.

Someone care to enlighten me about what positives there are in having 5th year athletes? North akota.................they are missing the D!

Personally, I hate the Covid year. It’s killing college hockey over 4 years in terms of recruiting and development. Seniors, maybe juniors, but all the way to freshman? Nahhhhhh…

So I ask this board what is different from this year and last? Basically the same d corps and they struggle, and not just them them fowards have seem to forgotten they have responsibilities also.

Is it possible that while ‘we’ have remained the ‘same’, other teams have changed, developed, studied and evolved?

When 17 “forgot” to cover that guy out front I was like oh boy. We get on squirts for that. His weak backhand to clear the zone later in the game was terrible as well. Should have just eaten it on the wall.

similar to 25, not sure what the point of leaving would be. I’d spend another year developing.

All 25 is doing is developing bad habits. He needs to go to the next level to learn life’s hard lessons and grow. Cross check to the head = fist in the face…

The quiet parts are now going to be said:

9 and 17 are defensive liabilities. See: WMU seventh goal. Four white jerseys at the boards and a shooter sitting open in the slot. They need to be split up.

10 and 19 need to sit. Put in 18 and 26. At this point it's about next season's roster and seeing who can develop over the next 12 games.

Our defensemen need to stay on their feet! One of the goals 24 and 3 were both down on the ice trying to block passes and instead hung out 1 worse as they slid through the play.

Well, 9 and 17 were going to be so busy scoring that they didn’t need to help on D. (Dripping with sarcasm)…

UND within shouting distance of the national tournament at #17 in the Pairwise, must have got some help over the break because after WMU they were #22.

This is probably the most important weekend of the 2nd half with Lindenwood 55th in PWR(Miami a close 2nd at 43rd).

    Sweep or bust

Remember though, they moved up because of what they didn’t do, no because of what they did…
