They called it interference since an Omaha player pushed his leg in the net. Same call went against Western Michigan last weekend.

Regardless, western played a dominant game. They owned center ice. And can go north in a hurry.

If you are reviewing a goal if it went in and say it's a goal. Then go back and review for goalie interference and say it's not a goal. Why not just say that when you first review the goal. Stop wasting time NCHC refs.

Because it wasn’t goaltender interference. Rowe was down on his own accord, the puck was in the crease, therefore in play.

DU still on fire offensively. UND is going to have to play very good defensively to keep them in check, plus we’ll need a huge weekend from Persson again.

15 power plays (with 4 5x3’s) tends to help that offense over a weekend…

Omaha doesn’t ever strike me as the most stout defensive team so going against an offensive juggernaut like Denver with all their weapons, it doesn’t shock me the Pios would have Latkoczy fishing pucks out of the back of his net all weekend long.

Watched the games, was in Omaha this weekend (my wife’s aunt passed). The officiating was a sh@tshow. Omaha was unable to play a physical game, getting called for ridiculous penalties. One ref, wet behind the ears, called everything they did either interference or cross checking. I never saw one handed cross checking before! Mavs had like 8-10 penalties per game. Couldn’t sustain any flow. Actually, the first periods were played even, before Ref #19 took center stage. It was shameful. Hope we don’t get him next weekend.

If Gabinet can recruit better skaters in Omaha than our staff can, then we shouldn’t let him leave Grand Forks this weekend.

It’s not that he can recruit better skaters, it’s what he does with them after he gets them

Don't want to get into anything with any fan (not my thing).  What my eyes did see tonight, though, was opportunistic execution whenever Omaha saw any little opening, almost without falter.  On the flip side, I saw a lot of outside shots, with no net front, that were low percentage.

What I saw was an opponent that plays an honest game. They don’t have the recruiting power for various reasons, but are relatively solid sans the ‘flash’. They lack the scoring threat of a UND or Denver, but make up for it with tenacity. Sometimes, that’s not enough, but tonight it was

I can't stand the 3x3 deciding a winner.  Whether we win or lose, just doesn't feel right.  And how you get .67 or whatever for a win that goes as a win but isn't really a win....I mean we got swept by CC but still got two points?

Play 5 minutes of OT 5x5 and then if you want extra conference points do the shootout.

How about 10 minutes of five on five, and if there is no winner, then it’s a point and a half each. Tired of this bull****

@BusinessSiouxt I'm a fan of hardwire as noted here. I hate adapters but have the iPad to HDMI that comes in handy (plus lots of HDMI to HDMI cables for PC to monitor).

Then again, when I'm not in-rink I just tune to channel 62x on my Midco cable. Yeah, cable; keep it to yourself.

I'll send the consulting invoice to @burd

    Sic, I appreciate it…

My bad. I got that from a box score on this site that showed no goals scored in OT. What the box score didn’t show was the 3x3 OT. I forgot that In 2019 they were still playing a 5x5 OT first then 3x3 (I still prefer that format).
Whether you count a 3x3 OT win as a win (2023) or tie (2019) in your W/L record, you still get the same number of conference points. When is the last time UND swept all the conference points in Denver?

78 B.C. - Julius Caesar was the Sioux captain. Debating an inconsequential event 4 years gone by…

My dad tells me of stories from back in like the 60’s of him driving through Colorado on his way back to GF and buddies practically begging him to load up the car with cases of Coors Light!

Pretty sure there was no Coors ‘light’ back in the 60’s. At the time, it also wasn’t pasteurized and tasted incredible!

Nothing about Omaha’s performance on Friday instills confidence in me that they will win this afternoon. Looks like the one area of concern with DU is perhaps their goaltending and/or play in the defensive zone. I mean, Omaha did score 4 goals on Friday which normally should give any team a high percentage chance at winning any hockey game.

CC has their own set of problems. I saw a stat last night on the scoreboard that says CC’s underclassmen have scored 30 of their 41 goals and have accounted for like, 66 of the teams 106 points. I’m going for memory here so I may be off on the exact #’s but you get my point. Glass half full? Or half empty? Long term, very encouraging that the freshmen and sophomores are competing and having success but discouraging in the sense of what the upperclassmen are (or are not) delivering.

Actually, a pretty poor call for a 5 min major was the difference. Denver was down 2 at the time and being pretty much played even up to that point. Denver is sloppy in their own end, and vulnerable because of it…

It's like how lab rats don't recognize Twinkies as food, foreigners look at Skyline and think it's dog food.

Mods: how do we embed tweets? It used to do so automatically, is this part of the recent changes at that hellsite?

It is dog food! After hearing about it for years, I was on business in Ohio, and I had to try it, very disappointing.

There are so many aspects of recruiting that are difficult to predict, so many moving parts that must perform well as a whole.   We don’t know that this D corps will continue to play this well, but their fundamentals have been so strong.   It’s not showy talent, just reliable and efficient play.   I hope coach Simpson is part of the reason why; he’ll still be here when new players replace the old.

I’ll take reliable and efficient over spotty and showy any day!

BU got an embellishment penalty. Is it a point of emphasis this year? Would be nice if Duluth gets a couple this weekend.

Personally, if the ref calls embellishment, why did he call the penalty in the first place? Maybe on a 2 min when someone is crafting to make it a 5, otherwise it's delay of game on the 'embellish-or'.

Just a reckless play by the d man that came over and got him with his skate.....sick to my stomach watching that.

Ok, so I accidentally saw the video. Hard to believe contact caused that. That was reckless assault. No excuse for it. None…
