Exactly like that. I was in the crowd standing out there giving those guys crap the entire time. I am pretty sure that is one of the worst experiences ever for Doug .

I'm not able to attend due to work, but 4 friends are going decked in Sioux gear. With Friday being reading and review day, you would think a few students might attend being they don't have class.

Hate to bring this up, but the Gophers can legitimately call the Ralph "Mariucci West" when playing the Sioux (yes, I know, they lost to Holy Cross). They have a winning record against US IN OUR BARN! We need to regain the home ice advantage. Fans have been really good this year, I expect the roof to blow off this place this weekend. We have been waiting for quite some time, I believe the last time the golden ones were in town, they swept us and popped their jerseys. The Danny Irmen goal when he stepped out of the penalty box at the perfect time and scored the breakaway goal still lingers in my mind. Sweep these punks! LETS GO SIOUX!

You know just as well as I do that your fanbase likes to make fun of states/cities more than the average fan...in part because your own programs aren't that good. (hockey excluded) When your team can't beat the other team, you (meaning your fanbase) moves on to attack states such as ND, Iowa, Wisconsin, and especially other Minnesota cities such as Mankato, St. Cloud and Duluth. All I am asking is this: Are these states/cities much different? In the national view, no. I would love to keep the discussion centered on the teams playing without hearing about mullets, snowmoblies, cheese-eating drunks, cornfed Iowa girls, etc. I wish more gopher fans and twin cities folk would agree with me on this one. That said, the gopher fans who post on this forum are pretty decent guys/gals and I enjoy your contributions to the site.

I always loved that one: "there's nothing to look at when I'm driving" HOW ABOUT LOOKING AT THE DAMN ROAD! I guess when I drive to the cities, I say: "Oh look dear, it is Maple Grove!" or, "Wow, check out the Best Buy headquarters". COME ON! Don't start with the GF bashing. To people in Cali or NY, MSP and North Dakota are interchangable. Just look at the movie "Fargo", most of it takes place in the MSP area, you are portrayed the same way we are here in Nodak. We are all seen as hicks with funny accents.

Has anyone brought up calling radio stations throughout the week? A few good ones to hit the "older" non-student crowd would be Tim Hennessey and Scott Swygman's show on KFan, 1440 am. They are on from 6-9 every morning. Could call or email Mike Macnamara to talk about it on his 1310 a.m. show.

Season Over! (for the 2nd time in 3 years!)

Damn, I really thought this was the year UNO wouldn't self destruct in the playoffs.

I really think UNO will defeat GVSU (perhaps handily) based on what I saw today. As long as Miller and Mcneil and Co. are healthy, they should do just fine. Good luck to UNO next week. Good season for the Sioux, a shame it had to end yet again at GVSU. Bring on Division I!

Those are simply awesome renderings. I wonder what the capacity of that stadium is. Outdoor football is great, but when it starts getting to 15-20 degrees out, it is going to be very tough to pack a stadium like that. Hopefully bigger opponent names will spark interest.
