  1. What are you talking about? MAGA loves the Blacks!!!!!!
  2. Read up on the Three-Fifths Compromise. It's in the Constitution. Article 1, Section 2.
  3. You can't possibly believe this is real.
  4. The main problem with Trump as it pertains to the issue of violence is he (more than any recent president) preys on existing divisions. His divisiveness seeps into everything. He subtly incites violence, then counters with 'law and order' platform. It's a good political tactic, but awful for the country. Case in point: Everybody knows sending the Feds into cities was a huge contentious issue at a volatile time. Yet Trump chose to threaten some left wing cities with federal action despite little or no violence occurring in these cities. Basic trolling aimed at causing more division and potential protest. Never has Trump stood up in front of the country and made an attempt at national unity. Not once. It's not in his interest. The President sets the tone. He sets the standard. Unfortunately Trump is a reality TV show President. His unprofessional and divisive mentality seeps into everything below it and everyone follows suit to keep up (both Rep and Dem). Unlike ever before this country has no middle ground and both sides just spew vitriol at eachother. And here we sit with a circus government, cities dealing with violence, employment sky-high, Covid everywhere, the economy in the toilet, bread lines, and citizens and politicians at eachother's throats like never before, etc. Trump's America folks. Is America great again yet?
  5. They're not protesters, they're thugs just like Antifa.....especially as it pertains to Portland. My point is, if Trump was truly interested in law and order, he'd hold everybody accountable that's causing this mess and/or adding to it. Obviously, despite the rhetoric, the Right has no interest in doing as such. The 'law and order' shtick is just a political tool.
  6. I agree to a degree. But this entire situation is under the umbrella of Trump's governance. You can blame liberal governors all you want, not since the 1960s has this country been in such disarray. Since then we've had both liberal or republican leadership.
  7. Everybody should be protesting peacefully. But, just like Antifa, tons of Right-Wing jack***es show up in Portland with no intention of peace. They are there to fight with Antifa and egg-on violence; which just adds to the lawlessness. Yet the Right wing is conspicuously silent about their hooligans. C;mon, you're not stupid, it's not rocket science as to why.
  8. Video will tell the story. This occurred on Sheridan, right downtown by the hospital. There's no way the entire incident wasn't captured by multiple cameras.
  9. Andy Ngo is probably upset because his militia friends got served last night. lol Jokes aside, why is the Right not holding their own accountable, or at least chastising them? Is that not their argument against the left? I understand the talking point is to blame Antifa for everything, but everybody knows Trump supporter nutcases are going to Portland in droves to fight, clash with, and egg-on the Antifa idiots. This just exacerbates the 'lawlessness' problem the Right is claiming they're trying to prevent.
  10. Of course. But, as it stands today, their exists no other sickness as prevalent as Covid that kills, or exacerbates problematic health issues in certain demographics so rapidly. Nor do we have any mitigating factors to cure it, properly treat it, or 100% prevent it from spreading.
  11. Where's the discrepancy exactly? What's so shocking here? That statement is consistent with what the CDC was saying since day 1...your chance of dying with Covid is exponentially higher if you have a pre-existing condition and you're elderly. Everybody knew this was the case.
  12. Any of you remember the Bundy Standoffs in Nevada and Oregon? Although these people’s methods were awful, their anti-government philosophy garnered much support from the Far-Right and Tea Party movements. Mind you, the Tea Party was, by and large, the genesis of Donald Trumpism. Very interesting video of Ammon Bundy explaining his support for Black Lives Matter, for the same reasons his movement received support from right wing and proto-Trump followers during the Obama years.....citizens rights, overreaching government, authoritarianism, abusive police power, etc.
  13. The issue of bad cops transcends the unions. The unions just make it easier to carry out 'the code of silence' that frequently permeates within police culture. Let's not play stupid here. It's a very hierarchical, top-down, structure. If the top layers of the pyramid are rotten, everything below will be affected. This is why, despite unions, we have some fantastic police departments (like where I'm lucky to live) yet some other corrupt POS departments (see link below). Police departments should not have the luxury of policing themselves and should be subject to constant oversight. At the end of the day, police are only human. The Justice Department announced today that it found reasonable cause to believe that the Baltimore City Police Department (BPD) engages in a pattern or practice of conduct that violates the First and Fourth Amendments of the Constitution as well as federal anti-discrimination laws. BPD makes stops, searches and arrests without the required justification; uses enforcement strategies that unlawfully subject African Americans to disproportionate rates of stops, searches and arrests; uses excessive force; and retaliates against individuals for their constitutionally-protected expression. The pattern or practice results from systemic deficiencies that have persisted within BPD for many years and has exacerbated community distrust of the police, particularly in the African-American community. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-announces-findings-investigation-baltimore-police-department
  14. He's self-sabotaging. It's no secret Trump won in 2016 because of low Dem turn-out (urban and minority voters). Despite low Dem turnout, and despite Hillary being the most incompetent candidate in the history of humanity, Trump still lost the popular vote. Trump even reportedly semi-admitted to the low turn-out. ‘It was great’: In leaked audio, Trump hailed low Black turnout in 2016" https://www.politico.com/news/2020/08/21/trump-black-voters-turnout-2016-398520 If the Dems show up to vote like they did for Obama, Trump will have a rough going of it.
  15. Well there you go. Your wife is likely upper/middle class. There exists an enormous class divide in these cultures. I mean most of these countries don’t even have a middle class for all intents and purposes. Case in point: in Mexico if you’re asked to self-identify as being poor, you’d answer ‘soy pobre’ which is the permanent form (verb) of being poor. For the masses, immigration is a significant issue considering it can be the means of economic survival vs total poverty. To a lesser extent not being **** on is an issue; but getting crapped on happens to every new immigrant group everywhere. But yea, everyone finds common ground on the Catholicism aspect.
  16. In a general sense yea. But you'll also find that Cubans tend to vote quite differently than Mexicans, etc.
  17. I’m not sure. I used to do some immigration work and the issue of immigration is huge. I mean if voting is any indication, Clinton and Obama garnered the highest % of Latino vote in recent elections.
  18. Latinos/Hispanics could be the GOP’s saving grace in the future. Very conservative culture with a massive population in the coming years. Thing is, Trump is still alienating most of this demographic with his not-too-nice rhetoric and his immigration policies. If he didn't do as such, he could easily bring this demographic fully into the conservative fold. But then again, a pro-immigration policy would alienate his existing base.
  19. Things won’t fully change until the this country's demographics shift. Change and equality will henceforth come from voting. This will occur in 20 years. In many ways ‘Trumpism’ is the last stand against this inevitable occurrence. Is it any surprise Trump’s demographic is older, un-diversified and monolithic? Of course not. Once Trump is gone, you’ll see the Republican party modify and tailor itself to fit in with these inevitable demographic changes.
  20. Today, 57 years after MLK' speech on equality, massive gathering in DC for the same. When asked about it today, Trump replied 'no comment'.
  21. Most of my clients are conservative; primarily charged with grabbing women by the ****y. It’s weird, there’s been a lot of that going around the last 3 years. I can’t put my finger on it.
  22. The 'blue wall of silence' is not only detrimental to communities, but also the people who serve in law enforcement. I don't agree with BLMs methods, but their reasoning for action is 100% correct. The police institution (albeit union, whatever) needs to be modified.
  23. I should've made myself clearer. The police, as an institution, isn’t doing its job in many of these places. We're not talking about individual police here. And that post was in regards to the lack of trust as it pertains to the FD and PD. You can have the most difficult job in the world, you'll earn people's trust if you attempt to do what's right and just. The policing institution hasn't earned it in the inner city. . Case in point, the guy who kicked this entire thing off - Derek Chauvin. The guy had 18 prior complaints against him. WTF is he still doing on the street? And, surprise, surprise, he ends up executing someone in broad daylight.
  24. Enough with the PC culture Liberal snowflake.
  25. What are you talking about? Few people are criticizing the individual policeman per say. They do have difficult jobs. These protests are against the institution of policing and a need for a complete overhaul because a) they're not effective b) many have shown themselves to be biased and not trustworthy in policing themselves.
