  1. Obsession=hanging out on opponent message boards in order to make a one word "obsession" post. Congrats, you've entered the skippie group. edit: Whoops, someone beat me to it.

    SIOUXtra

The TV broadcasts are on the satellite systems. There is other pay for jumptv content that is not; ie, basketball, volleyball, etc. Check what you can get on jumptv and compare to this schedule, which is what you'll get on a satellite system.
  3. Powered up at 5:30 at 75% (on the traxis); another good strong transponder for this season.

    Versus

Will cost us dishnetwork guys the same, since they paid the price for Versus, so we can't call and complain. Good deal for directtv subscribers for this season anyway.
  5. I seldom get a return email, but this morning I did. Would be nice if they would make it more clear in their news releases for us KU band system users. To be fair, though, it has always been on the FSSN schedule, it's the Midco cable debacle that has us confused.
  6. Thanks for the correction; isn't the Cal Poly game listed in the schedule here as a road game actually a home game?
  7. Jamie at the REA says it will be downlinked via listed FSSN coordinates. Not sure if this game is 7PM or 6PM CDT; different sites list it differently?
  8. RHHiT is certainly unbelievably condescending to his own people. How could anyone have any respect for him?
  9. Assume it will be on 91W at the coordinates listed on the REA website; different transponder than last year, but same satellite. I'll be looking for signal on that transponder, if not there, it's blind scan time. Guess I don't remember a time when it was cable only, no satellite. Must have been a WDAZ production only, without REA's uplink.
  10. There may be some other reason that your local midco is showing another game, but that would be the only place to contact, your local midco office. If they are blaming it on someone else, they're just not telling the truth. I've had the same problem with NCC Ray cable at times in the past (although it appears they will show the game this time) and they frustrated me to the point that I installed my own system and got dishnetwork for regular TV. Nice that dish also has the local networks in western ND.
  11. They'll lead you to somewhere next to the Missouri River, still a fair drive to Grand Forks. You may find a few covered wagons for rent.
  12. That is BS; midco just has to point at the correct satellite and dial in the correct transponder. It will be beamed down from satellite, it's just a matter of the cable co's choosing to receive it. The FSSN is FTA.
  13. Sioux fans with KU band systems can pick up the Montana/UC Davis game tonight at 9PM CDT, on AMC 15, 105W, 11895 H 6898 http://www.montanagrizzlies.com/pages/news...n=8222&m=18
  14. Check it out here.
  15. This schedule shows the games at UAA, Oct 23 and 24, on FSSN, so I expect they will be.

  17. It's just an FTA system away from the east coast.
  18. I'm taking all donations for steel siding Looks like the UAA road series will be shown on FSSN. This may be on the same transponder, but could be telecast through another satellite, which, without a motor, could require a repoint for those with fixed systems. There have been FTA stations disappearing from KU band over the last month, but, Ohio News Network remains (on 74W)-they have telecast Miami games there the past couple seasons. While midcontinent cable usually repoints and gets you the games, the local cable where I am (NCC Ray) seldom repoints for changes in satellites during the season, which is why I put up my own system and subscribed to dishnetwork. Hope someone takes the time to do the wiki on FTA equipment installation, too much staring at a computer screen for me, already do that way to much at work.
  19. We're spying on each other
  20. Check out http://www.psbsatellite.com. He's in the cities and has done installs for lots of TC Sioux fans. If you get a motorized system installed, you can motor to any of the satellites. The FSSN has changed satellites often since it started, at least one year the satellite was changed during the season. Motor was nice then, although you could pay Pete to return and repoint a manual system. For one road series last year (at Wisco, I think?), the feed was picked up from another satellite, manual would have required two repoints to receive all the games televised, again a big plus having a motor. Below, a motorized system from Pete that I installed myself (I'm a long ways from the TC).
  21. That is correct; just different frequency and symbol rate. Scan in the new one when it's live or enter the transponder manually in your receiver menu so you're ready when it is powered. As for HD, much of the HD content is C band, so, if you're expecting to get lots of HD sports, you'll need to set up a big dish. Technology changes quickly, wait for the HD receiver when there is more available content, by then the receiver will be better than one you could get now (especially if you have or are getting a small dish for KU band only).
  22. The contract between FSSN and WDAZ has not yet been signed, the announcement and television schedule should appear on fightingsioux.com when it's a done deal.
  23. The transponder is not currently powered, you won't see signal until it is. The "name" is not important as long as you're pointed at 91W (which is now named G17). They may have a "testing" time like last year. If we don't see that posted, we'll have to scan for the tp just before the first televised game. I entered the tp into my 91W transponder list, so I can just do a tp scan when it's powered.
  24. We were usually above you several rows; thought the referee shirt and trenchcoat guys were nuts (and possibly dangerous)
  25. Unbelievable that FSSN/WDAZ has not announced a new agreement yet, if there is to be one. Usually a football game or two is available FTA via FSSN, prior years the deal (and TV schedule) has been announced by now. They're really placing a lot of Sioux fans, that have fixed systems, as well as those that want to install new ones, in scrambling mode.
