  1. This week they played Texas A&M I think but normally the broadcasts are on AMC5 KU
  2. sorry I'm late on this...I was working on the dish farm Montana uplinks 30 minutes or so before game time...more than the FSSN They'll probably be there again next week Most of G4/G16 on KU is for the "HITS" package that cable companies use and also if you have a 4DTV you can subscribe to it....I think they are using that satellite as its closer to the true south of Montana (and nothing else on it so they could use that TP the whole year)
  3. Pete can drop ship them to your house or www.sadoun.com sells systems too It really isn't that hard to install a system. There is a few of us Twin Cities folks with them
  4. thats an understatement Since that satellite they are on now (IA6/G26/T6) has feeds and channels up 24/7 its a no brainer...get it done

agreed there. Hopefully they do beam them up on satellite somehow (either the live feed or the FSSN feed) They use to show the coaches show on Thursday nights at 7:00 and then on Friday's (if there was a game televised) before the 7:30 game. Wonder why they dont do that anymore? (It was a show and they had both b-ball coaches and the hockey coach...Blaiser was the coach)
  6. www.psbsatellite.com
  7. no. They used G3 next doot at 95W a couple years ago yep. Should also have in the clear CBS Newsfeed at 11710 V 14310 (freq, polarity, symbol rate) Doc Scott & University Network at 11865 V 3516 Macy's (as noted above) and there are a fair amount of news feeds on there too if you have a blind scan/smart scan/power scan receiver
  8. yep. For most people the move will be easy. If you are in MN or Eastern ND twist the LNB so its striaght up and down and move dish matbe 1/16" (if you draw a mnark on the mast move it from there) and you should be on IA6. DO NOT TOUCH ELEVATION ON DISH....the elevation is like a .1 degree change
  9. Well its official...they moved satellites this year From the Ralph site
  10. sprig Here is the FSSN hockey schedule http://fightingsioux.xosn.com/SportSelect....amp;SPSID=58682

    cool Thanks for the info!
  12. Have an old Winegard dish on the motor. The 90cm dish is aimed at Galaxy 10 and the 80cm dish is (right now) not aimed at anything. Once they figure out what satellite to use it will probably be aimed at that

where did you find the info? I didnt see it anywhere but this is good news
  15. well you could get one at Sadoun (www.sadoun.com) Here is a list of them http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/Satellite-...FTA-Systems.htm The one wild card right now is we dont know what satellite they will use this year. The last 2 years they've used Galaxy 28 (Formerly IA8 and Telstar4). A 80cm dish would work since the satellite is strong but usually the rule of thumb is to try the biggest dish you can get. I have a 76cm dish and it works great for the Sioux games and almost everything else I move the dish to. The Fortec dishes I haven't had any issues with (have both a 80cm and 2 90cm dishes) and work really well. You could also go with the Globecast dish (S-2) which is a bigger dish. Forget the "self install kit" and go buy some cable with good ends on them 9I've seen those kits and they usually have cheapy ends on them. Also if you're a Griz football fan the last couple years they have had all the TV games (the ones that Montana News Station (CBS) shows) on the same satellite
  16. last year the Northeastern game was on the same satellite as the FSSN. WDAY uplinked it Also the UMTC/NDSU game was on C-Band but with the Big10Network now we dont know edit: found my post about the NEastern game
  17. sort of. Legally one owner cannot own 2 different network stations there since Fargo/GF is a small market. (IIRC you cannot own 2 of the top 4 stations in a market that size) So KXJB 4 is owned by a "company" called Parker Broadcasting. But they have an agreement with Hoak Media, who owns KVLY to basically run it for them. So do they own both? legally no...technically yes. Its a hokey (non pun intended) way of getting around the FCC rules of ownership. Duluth does the same. CBS is owned (on paper) by Malara Broadcasting but it is run by the NBC affiliate in Duluth (owned by Granite Broadcasting). Same studio same facilities.
  18. This TC Sioux fan is OK But here is the eerie thing. I live and work south of there....way south of there (work in Bloomington...about 1/2 mile from Sensers . But I had to go help someone in St Paul and the easiest way to get to her house is 35W N through Mpls (and across the bridge)...and I crossed that bridge about 6:02ish....a few minutes before it collapsed
  19. Actually it was Ron Mexico
  20. correct. Its the league. Rule is if the game isnt sold out within 72 hours before kickoff its blacked out within a 75 mile radius of the stadium. But here is where it gets even stupider. If a channel outside the area has coverage in that 75 mile area, they too are blacked out. Thats why using the AZ example the whole state was blacked out. Also this year lets say the Vikes don't sell out. Not only does KMSP 9 have to black it out for the whole area (including people in Bemidji who have Mpls locals) but KXLT Fox Rochester will also have to black it out since part of their coverage is within the 75 mile area. So the only people who could see the game in MN would be SW MN (via Sioux Falls), NW MN (Via Fargo/GF) and Duluth area college hockey games have no blackout rule. What some teams do is tape delay the games (Anchorage does that....they're live via satellite but for cable folks its tape delayed to 10:30 local time (1:30 our time) to convince people to come to the games.
  21. I wouldn't mind that either. I know they have done it in the past but only to cable companies and not to the FTA folks (last year vs Bucky....2 years ago vs Denver).
  22. yes there is a market. Obviously there are fans & alumni from around the country. The issue is the FSSN has to have local advertisers and that takes us back to the population issue. There are tons of advertisers who get in on the Goofer games. Also they fill a few breaks with FSN North commercials. Since there is nothing else on FSSN besides the games it doesn't make sense to keep showing the "catch all the home games on FSSN"...we already know that But back to the advertisers it doesn't make sence to have a advertiser say in Brainerd, MN because most people won't care. And have you seen the commercials on the FSSN? Its a few advertisers. I don't know why they don't have more ads for businesses in NoDak. Why doesn't some bigger company in Bismarck or MInot get ads on it? Obviously people watch the games. Now if Senser's could get some advertising that would be cool as hell A Minneapolis based restaurant on a North Dakota station
  23. yes they go to Duluth...the oddball Saturday/Sunday afternoon games at the end of February Hopefully someone picks up the games in Duluth...and hopefully its an OTA station and not cable
  24. This is sort of on topic but I know some people like to whine & complain that the FSSN doesn't show more games.....well be happy that you can see the games on TV Sadly one of my other favorite teams, UMD, just lost their TV partner. WDIO (ABC in Duluth) decided not to renew the contract. So right now the only UMD games I can see are from other teams broadcasts. No "local" team coverage. Right now they're looking but right now it looks dim. Unless the local cable channel picks it up then it would be shown just in Duluth and no where else. So be happy you can see the Sioux no matter where you are in the country. As long as you have a FTA system, you can be sure to see a lot of games
  25. AMEN TO THAT!! The FTA feed is usually the original feed. The cable companies that get ti are doing the same thing we do...pick up the feed via satellite. They then rebroadcast it If there are no commercials it most definitelly is the original. But I think the FSSN inserts them in the original. Last year during the womens BB game (Elite 8) the original feed was on a different satellite and the FSSN was reuplinked. But yes the FSSN feed is usually the "clean" feed (original)
