  1. How do our dbacks let a 30 yard jump ball be caught?
  2. We seem to be suspect on the short side edge.

That was kind of my point, pretty rare at FCS level for a head coach to have his son be QB. I would say the chances of that working out well are between slim and none unless the kid was a real stud.

QB is son of head coach? Strange. https://s3.amazonaws.com/undsports.com/documents/2018/10/30/Week_9_Idaho_Football_Notes.pdf
  5. Players execute when they are confident in what they are doing. Practice, drill and rehearse.
  6. Weber had a great plan on third down and their QB knew exactly where to go when we brought pressure. I said it earlier, but their first TD play was ALL on their coaching staff. The formation drew our ILB's out to cover the slot receivers so the middle was wide open and the QB could almost walk into the end zone.
  7. I lost mine too, but that is where the TOP comes into play. UND's 9 minutes TOP in 2nd half is awful.
  8. Great point. UND is in a tough position sharing the same state as NDSU and constantly being compared. I agree, from what I have seen this year there is no team in FCS that will challenge NDSU. UND has a good team which is improving. UND IMO is still missing some pieces to challenge NDSU although anything can happen on a given Saturday.
  9. Schmidt was responsible for that. Rudy for the O. Guys plays faster and meaner when they are well-prepared and very confident.
  10. I get it. I thought defense was very poorly prepared and the game-plan was bad. Halftime adjustments were ineffective. We needed to concentrate on stopping the run and pressuring the qb.
  11. Defense was not good, but how many teams win today at all levels of college football possessing the ball for 9 minutes of the second half? It is almost impossible. As bad as the defense was if the offense sustains an 8 minute, 15 play TD drive in the 3rd/4th when we were down 28-23 we probably win the game. Second half drives were: 9 plays 3:28(FG) 3 plays 2:05 5 plays 1:55 6 plays 2:51 0 plays 0:00 5 plays 0:38
  12. Agree on JJ(#33) for sure. He is tough to bring down going north and south. Wears the other defense down, especially as the game wears on.
  13. Football is the ultimate team game. Easier for offense to score after turnover(defense produced 0), easier for defense to play with a lead(had 1 lead) and when it has been resting for 5 plus minutes(UND longest drive was 4:59) Turnovers and time of possession are always huge.
  14. Ok. I agree with that. Tom Miller column: http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4520444-5-things-you-might-have-missed-weber-states-35-30-win-over-und#.W9T7aojIziA.twitter
  15. I agree. Win out we are in playoffs and probably can host a first round game. I think our team is built to match up better with the MVFC. Can win a game or two.
  16. Lights out on special teams? I would say they had two great plays and the rest was average at best. A KO out of bounds, a terrible onside kick, a missed XP, a couple of poor kickoff covers and a couple of poor returns which all led directly to poor field position. They were very well prepared for our blitzing, Constantine knew where to go with the ball. They were much better prepared for the game. Defenses rarely look fast when they are on the field for 21 minutes of the 2nd half.
  17. I disagree. They were better today, and a lot of that to me was they seemed better prepared. I say they win 7 out of 10.
  18. Remember we just lost to the #4 team in the FCS. At this point in the season, the cream has risen to the top and Weber really is a top 5 team. I think the Kett pick in the 2nd qtr was huge. We had all the momentum I will be scoffed at here, but if that play is a completion and we keep running and passing down the field and score at that point we win by a couple tds. Momentum is huge in football and after that play we were never able to completely get it back. Hats off to their coaching staff, preparation caused that pick. Probably was the deciding play in the game.
  19. Agree with this 100%. That first TD run by Constantine where the ILB were both watching outside receivers and he waltzed into the end zone. Great adaptation.
