Otis is a playmaker and our only threat to score on any play. We NEED him in on 1st down and 2nd and short and take some PA shots. A few plays he was lined up in the slot, no idea why. I'm sure NDSU was ecstatic he got 13 carries. Otis was in the game the for both of our TD drives.

No. This team is different than past teams. So is the NDSU team. Should have won on Saturday.
-
We need him to get 20-25 carries and run PA with him in the game. TD throw and the throw before the TD were affected by his presence on the field.

Completely agree with your evaluation of Tommy. NDSU showed how to stop our passing game cold. For whatever reason we don't want Otis in the backfield 75% of the time. I can't imagine YSU isn't copying the NDSU defensive game plan. Having a QB who won't win games for you puts our win ceiling at 6-7 games per year.

I understand not giving Quincy a series or two each half while Tommy is on a roll. The roll was stopped on Saturday. He was very average at best. Quincy adds 2 dimensions to the offense that Tommy does not. It's time to give Quincy a real shot.

We have now found out that Tommy is not superman and can lose. Isn't it time to start giving Quincy a few series per game to see what he can do?

I’m not shocked at all . I was honestly impressed with that first run play call. At least one OL pulled to the left, leupke went right. NDSU knew what the UND LBers/safeties were reading. If that’s traditional zone stretch it goes for 1-5 yards. Set the tone for the game. I was just giving Bison coaches props for that. Not the only time in game where they used false OL movement. Leupke is a fantastic back when a team is playing with the lead . You used your horse and we didn’t. The UND OL was just as dominant as NDSU. We were consumed with throwing 5 yard passes and back shoulder fades. No idea why Shuster didn’t pull it down and run a few times.

The safety was coming downhill at the snap to load the box when Weah was running(not when Skokna or Gee we’re running) . Watch the game again . They were manned up in our receivers so tight they lined up offsides on one play. It’s the reason we had to try backshoulder fades which were not in sync. im pretty sure their MLB went down around halftime. No idea why we didn’t run Weah 20-30 times and take some deep play action off it . A decent throw on a post where the safety vacated and it’s 6. The a bison were daring us to do it. We took one half-assed deep shot, Maag on a short out and up and Tommy made a poor throw.

We can disagree. Pre-NDSU I thought we had outcoached the other staff in all 4 games, some by a bunch. First TD run by Leupke they pulled a guard away from the play which gave them numbers at point of attack. Set the tone for the game. How about that for momentum? a FB's first carry of the season goes for a 55 yard almost untouched TD run which had zero to do with DL deficiency. 1st 4th down on O we have what amounted to a FB dive with Weah lined up 7 yards deep. NDSU knows its coming and has the middle stacked. No reason not to call a TO. Huge momentum play in the game. Play calling in the 2nd qtr was lousy at best. The game was still ours to take at that point. Weah had 4 rushes for 30 yards(7.5 ypc) in the 2nd qtr and Tommy was 4-10 in the 2nd qtr. No idea why Weah didn't have 10 rushes, how likely was he to house one at that point. Need to come up with PA using OW and no idea why he is EVER split out in the slot? Who are we fooling? After Morrison left the game the DC needed to stack the box and make Zeb beat us. We didn't. Zeb completed 5 passes in the game and 2 of them were in the first 2 drives, then they pulled him after the 2nd pick. Overall no idea why Weah doesn't get 20 plus carries a game. He is the home run threat. The officiating WAS brutal, but control what you can control and don't worry about the rest. I'm not sure how it would have affected the outcome of the play but I thought Siegel hit at goalline which caused pick could have been targeting. Late first half OPI was missed on Watson TD for sure as was a late in the game PI on a deep fade.

Again, its college football. WR's will never get open if the DB doesn't care about getting beat deep. Kenny Golladay could be out there and I honestly don't think Tommy could throw it with enough velocity to honor a "double move". With no ability to throw a deep ball and no QB run threat, it takes an incredible amount of pressure off opposing defenses. We need to at least try a couple series with Quincy and Otis executing RPO and Quincy throwing some deep PA. IMO totally different game yesterday with a true dual threat QB who has the ability to hit a pass 40 yards down field or even a deep crossing route. The TD pass before half is beyond anything we even will attempt. Coaching needs to evaluate their poor performance yesterday and get back to the coaching which brought us to the party(first 4 games). Yesterday was not it.

Way to go Kenny Golladay!!

A couple thoughts Weah needs to be on the field for 2/3 of snaps.(only 13 carries)? After scoring to start 2nd half, Bubba and co needed to make Zeb beat us with constant pressures stacking the box, especially after Morrison went down. Need to use Weah earlier in game with play action and take some deep shots on 1st and 2nd down to compensate for QB lack of arm strength. Much more difficult for receivers to get separation if the dB/lb isn’t worried about getting beat deep. NDSU has now publishes the template to nullify the offense. If Weah is in the game stack the box and play tight man and if he’s not in the game drop more into coverage. Oh and missing xps is inexcusable. How deflating was that? Ridiculous.
