Begs the question: How did a UND guy, who wasn't highly recruited and played for poor coaches, develop this well to become a Big 12 player?

There have been several guys on Bubba's squad over the years that could have made the jump to P5.  Not sure what your point is?

Disagree - there is a simple way - our record.  You are what your record says you are.  Are we happy with the record for the past 10 years?

North Dakota football has compiled a very average record over the last 10 years.  61 wins 50 losses.  Best record was 9-3 in Bubba's third season and that was followed up with Bubba's worst record at 3-8.  The other 8 seasons have ended with somewhere between 5 and 7 wins, which IMO, a very average HC and staff could compile at a school like UND in the FCS division.  Bubba has made the FCS playoffs(a baseline accomplishment at one of the heavies in FCS football) and has lost all 5 games.

North Dakota football should demand excellence.  The record and the 2021 extension scream the fact it does not demand excellence and that is my problem with the UND football program.  Without major changes in the expectations and the current staff, we can all plan on continued underperformance and 5-7 wins per season.

    Washington, SDSU, and NDSU

We beat both NDSU and SDSU since 2018 and should have defeated both teams multiple times.  I would agree with Washington, we need them to lose the game.  Every other game we could have won with superior coaching.  One of the losses vs NDSU had one of the worst coaching moves in MVFC history.

Stanford was asking the same thing….

Tell me which game since 2018(@Washington) UND Football could not have won with better coaching?  Give me a list of the games since @ Washington, which Bubba and co had no chance because the other team just had far superior talent...

I agree. UND’s facility upgrades and ongoing construction only further exemplifies how incompetent the current coaching staff is at UND.

    BINGO

Yeah, it will be great.  Right now, the facilities don't match your expectations of the team.  Just because UND and SDSU both have indoor practice facilities, that doesn't mean the facilities, as a whole, are both championship caliber (currently - yes it will soon change).

UND consistently underperforms.  UND's facilties are far better than Sac State.  Why did we lose ?

A lot of programs also don't need to walk outside, in ND, to get to their practice field.  Many schools don't really need indoor practice facilities either, because it's not nearly as cold or windy, anywhere.

It is a huge selling point to the average recruit, when the next phase is comllete, UND will have as good of facilities as exist in FCS and better than most G5 schools.  Those are just the facts.

Facilities, which are currently under construction?  The indoor practice facility is nice, but how far has it been from actual locker room?  Kind of a big detail when it comes to comparing facilities with other schools.

UND FB coaches have been overperforming, based on their pay, which is pretty dang close the the FCS median...

    -> https://knightnewhousedata.org/reports/fa295ee0

UND has top 20 facilities in FCS.  How many indoor practice facilities exist in FCS?  When the locker room facility is complete UND will be top 5 easily.  Saying our coaches overperform is silly.  UND should always be a top 25 program and after new phase is complete should be top 10.  How many FCS games away from the Alerus have you been too?

  9. If Entz wins another natty this year he is likely offered a G5 HC position.  Kleiman made the jump to P5.   Bad career move.  Wil never be a HC again and if USC has another floundering year will be unemployed.

We’re again reduced to cheering against the Bison in order to salvage our own season.  And yet, the loudest voices will proclaim NDSU a failure if they lose the semifinal or national title game and proclaim UND as the true “state champion.”  Regardless of what happens next in the playoffs, it’s now impossible to argue that UND will have had the more successful season than NDSU.

I can't see NDSU not having the upper hand in this rivalry with the present coaching staffs in place.  Not what I want to say with my heart, but my head and logic says that is the truth at this point.

Like what? The guy who looks to be next in line was redshirted so we don't stunt his development? We see the talent we have recruited since our offense has gotten better take off this year as red shirt freshman? Everyone expects a quick fix but considering what he took over to what he has built, recruits are now starting to take notice.

How long has Danny been the OC?

I am simply saying, Danny is maximizing the QB he has. He isn't perfect, but is far from the problem. Next year when we have a QB who is more confident throwing down the field, let's talk about this 2 yards offense. If you want to can the guy who is the only reason we were a decent team this year, be my guest.

If you are correct and either of the other two guys are that much better than Tommy, doesn't that bring up a myriad of other problems?  I have gotten really excited about this program a few times over the last half decade only to have some very poor coaching usually bring my excitement to an abrupt halt.

And yet I’ll be here next August for all of it.  What a weird little addiction, and I think I speak for a lot of us.

I'll fall into line again, will likely be dazzled in a game or two and get my hopes up only to be home dreaming of what could have been...

Or maybe you would prefer to hire back Paul Rudolph?

So that is our choices?  Two yards and a cloud of dust through the air or on the ground?  Is that what you are saying?  No designed QB runs?, no TE routes?  rare deep throws?  Just swing passes, WR screens and running the ball until we start to dominate on the ground and then mysteriously decide to throw?

The same offense that scored more points against NDSU than South Dakota did in two games? The same offense that works around the strengths of its QB? We certainly didn't push the ball down field every play, but that's not the strength of our offense. I am glad that "dust" allowed us to be a top scoring offense again this year. (24th in the FCS)

Am I conversing with Danny's dad?  How did it go vs Boise St?  @SDSU? @UNI? @USD?  even Sac St when it mattered?  Let me know will you?  It's not like this is the first year of this "2 yards and a cloud of dust offense"...

How many times over the years has Danny out thought himself and done some ridiculous trick play(which fails badly) when we could have just run the ball?  I'm not saying that the offense was worse than the defense this year, but often the biggest problem with a bad defense is the offense can't dominate TOP and/or gets behind a TD or two before it starts moving the ball.

I am glad South Dakota's great offense after 1 year showed up to play today... Oh wait it is against NDSU though and apparently we can't count games against them according to some on here.

Why are you so enthralled with Danny’s "2 yard pass and a cloud of dust" offense?    It was poor in almost every big game we had this season.
