  1. Being new to the MVFC, SIU hasn't seen an offense that plays the type of football Freund puts on the field. I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about Tommy not having enough overall skill to win us a game. I know he won't lose us a game, but I want a QB who can win you a game when others aren't having their best day. However, I'm going to say the defense brings it and we win 21-17.

*Bonus plug: At one point, we will block a punt.

The OL has put 15 lbs back on, almost everyone back, all of them healthy so far I believe, one more year of experience.....I'm hoping this is the year the OL puts it all together.  While we lost Bennet from Fall 2019 on the DL, we were so undersized.  Most of those guys put on weight since then and should be more experienced, lets hope we see some improvement there as well.

The fact that our OL, on paper, should be improved...gets me excited.  Would be nice to see what Danny can do when we actually have a consistent running game.

I completely agree with this here. Probably the most confident I have been in this group in the last five years. Obviously the players playthe largest role in this, but Coach Pawluk has shown to be a huge upgrade from Knauf.

As for the running game, I thought JJ underachieved considered all the hype around him when he came in. Excited to see that group this year!

  3. At the end of the day, he's a winner and led a winning program that now has a winning culture. Winning, winning, winning. Keep bringing in athletes who are used to winning and soon enough we will have the winning culture we once had.

Finally found out the truth about the McKinney situation.

The truth is he was fast, but that was about all he has going for him. There is a reason when he hit the portal he wasn't highly sought after.....

It's nice to finally see some actual good competition at QB, and a QB group that all show potential, although we'll wait to see which of them reach it.   We have finally taken the QB position seriously, has only taken 6-7 years.  I never want to see such a wounded duck 3 yard TD from a backup coming off the bench like we saw a couple of years ago.

All in all, it was one simple switch: Freund to OC. It would be very hard for someone to argue how important of a move that was for the program. Bubba made a good decision there. In that, it appears that Freund has surrounded himself with a nice offensive staff that agrees with what he is trying to do.

As what a tight end? I didn’t think it sounded like he had much for wheels.

I don't believe he will switch positions. However, I will say with the current state of college football and how easy it seems to be to transfer, there is no way Shuster, Vaughn, Neil, and Feeney all finish their college careers at UND.

who is  our starting RB day one?

I would guess it's a true committee this year. Gee seemed to have the coach's trust as far as doing a little bit of everything, Weah will be the tough yards, between the tackles dude (assuming he is eligible), Skokna is probably the smoothest one of the bunch and has shown he can be special. Mitchell was pretty hyped up coming in so who knows what he can do.

  8. I like how Sather carries himself and I know it's early in his time here at UND, but it does look questionable as to whether or not we have much in the current system that will be able to compete in the Summit. After Rebraca, what else is there?

  9. I didn't even think about how this year not counting toward eligibility would completely change how teams went about recruiting. Unless "seniors" are very open and honest this could really throw a wrench into a team. On the other, if your seniors are open and honest this could really help a program build up. Hoping this is something our program using to propel straight to the top of the MVFC.

  10. If anyone says "UND hockey is built on character and sportsmanship" they are out of their mind. I'm not saying that UND hockey has a history of bringing in terrible criminals and such, but UND hockey is built on luring in the best talent they can. That's it. Not much else matters.
