  1. With Kevin Maurice leaving, who is working with the running backs now? Is there someone expected to be hired for the position? Seems to me like this is probably our deepest, most skilled position group.

Mauch just took a PWO to NDSU. Supposedly over a PWO offer from UND and D-2 offer from MSU-M.

Well looks like the focus for the few in state guys we like shifts to Hankey and Jepson.

Renolds is a tackling machine. Always around the football.

Mauch from Hankinson, Hankey from Park River and Jepson from Killeer are some others that I don't think have committed yet.

I would like getting any of those three as PWOs. Mauch and Jepson have great builds and athleticism that projects well. From what I saw from the Hankey kid, great insticts, versatile, and knows how to use his strength on the field.

  4. Our offers are looking like they will be filled with quality players if athletes are true to their commitments that is for sure! Should be interesting to see what kind of players fill out the class as PWOs. Those are the kids who can really make or break a class at times if you ask me. Yes, you've got to hit with scholarship offers, but sneaking some quality kids in as walk-ons is what makes for great recruiting classes.

  5. I would think they roll with Stuts again this year, with Zimmerman as a quality backup. Would not be surprised at all if Brad H. gets moved to TE or WR. I would guess this will give him this spring to show any possible development as a QB and if he isn't as promising as they once hoped, he is moved. Bolinski throws a nice balls and is crafty, just a lack of size. He will develop into a quality backup and Boltman coming in is promising too.
  6. The Bison losing can only help us out. First of all, even though we don't get to play them every year, it is still a rivalry. In a rivalry, there is no support for the other school. The Bison losing in the playoffs at home will only help UND in the future with recruiting and confidence. Right now, as much as I don't like saying it, everyone has a fear of the Bison and their current winning ways. If those winning ways stop tonight, it will help the confidence of all FCS schools and show they can beat NDSU when it counts.

The only good thing about NDSU still playing is the UND coaches getting a head start on recruiting.

And with 2 of them being 5'8" 170 lbs, decent chance the schools that have offered all 3 are only willing to take 2.

Playing in the Big Sky and seeing a ton of length and speed, I won't be too upset if we miss out on the 5'8 guys. At the same time, I will be excited about the 6'2+ DB's and WR's. That being said, I'll take Mafe.

  8. I've heard the Hofers are NDSU or bust, so I would basically take them off the board. I agree though. Hankey and Mauch would be two nice gets as PWO.  Both have nice size and athletic abilities.

  9. Thanks for this link! Very interesting to look at. Would be nice to get a few of those ND studs out there on PWO deals. Would help fill the Alerus every week to get some area kids with talent that is for sure!
