UND struggles against teams that make it hard to get into the slot. That’s what made Jackson Blake so good was that he was able to get inside against anyone. When UND is forced to the perimeter, they aren’t a very good team. Lack of chemistry and creativity makes it hard to get into that prime scoring area. Hopefully that will come in time.

The depth should tilt the ice for the bottom lines in UNDs favor for the vast majority of the games. Defensively I don’t think there is a team in the nation that Id trade defense corps with at this point. Keep in mind we have a first rounder currently sitting out. Was hoping to see more from the top 6, but that will come. I was impressed with the coach interviews. Seems like this is a very demanding detailed group at the helm.

After last season I’m a UND fan first and a fan of any NCHC team playing a non-conference team second. Yes, even Denver.

Those losses are going to buoy Penn State and hurt the conference as I expect ASU will figure out how to close out games at some point. I thought they were the better team for long stretches but come away with nothing.

I like the suspense of not having a damn clue who is committing. Could be a top pick. Could be an under the radar guy. Nobody has any idea until the name is dropped. It does make for an entertaining off-season. I’ll take a lineup of top talent mixed in with under the radar guys that have a chip on their shoulder and feel they have something to prove. Ones of the Stetcher and Caggiula mold. Show those flashy hot dogs what it means to play Sioux hockey.
