  1. I remember Costello being quoted at the beginning of the season saying he hopes to get 70-80 points this season...so much for that.
  2. Maybe DL's coach knew the only chance they had to play with GFC was to be really physical with them to throw them off their game. If so, it seemed to be pretty effective but it also drew a lot of penalties which created a lot of PP's for GFC and even a few unfavorable 5 on 3's. I saw DL play RR at the Eagles this year, and they do have quite a few big solid kids so that seems like it would be a good game plan.
  3. Of the 16 penalties last night 11 were on DL and 5 were on GFC. All 3 GFC goals were PP goals and DL had 1 shorty and one PP goal. I know what you mean about home refs, but it didn't seem like the story line last night.
  4. Devils Lake in the EDC reminds me of Western Michigan in the NCHC. They will probably never win the EDC but they always seem to roam in the top 3-5 and give the top teams a run for their money at home. On the radio it sounded like DL was hitting GFC a lot which was frustrating them...again kind of a Western Michigan trait. Grant Johnson got kicked out for throwing punches? Will he be out next game too then? Now DL travels to Minot to take them on. I wouldn't be surprised if Minot wins in another close one. DL has to be wore out after a game like that, especially when their next game is less than 24 hours away. GFC and DL play again next Tuesday already in Grand Forks. I'm thinking GFC has woke up and will take them by 3-4 goals this time. I'm really interested to see how Century and High match up against Davies and South this weekend. I bet High beating South will be the only West win out of the 4 games. Doesn't it seem strange to have non-conference games so late down the stretch like this?
  5. 22 games not 22 years. Jamestown beat them 5-1 in 2007. Zach's senior year
  6. Last time they beat century was when zach welding was playing for Jamestown.
  7. 3-1 GFC after 2. GFC has 3 PP goals and one of them was a 5-3. Tough enough for DL to stick with them as it is, let alone being short handed the entire game. Refs need to let the teams play. I don't think it's been even strength yet.
  8. GFC up 2-1 on DL midway through the 2nd. 2 PP goals for central and one shorty for DL
  9. I think Denver and/or Duluth would be undefeated if they had Penn State's gravy schedule.
  10. It's interesting how there are probably more ND kids playing D1 right now than ever before, but yet the overall talent seems to be down quite a bit. Is it Due to so many kids leaving early for juniors? Or just coincidental that there are some outstanding individuals and poor teams overall? I don't remember Fargo ever producing so many poor teams.
  11. Thought of that after I posted it. But yes definitely!
  12. Yeah, it Seems like this might be the perfect setup for johnson. He might not be able to do what he's good at in other leagues. He might not have as high of a ceiling. So I can agree with your comment.
  13. Did und go after the wrong kid? Seems like johnson is easily outshining Costello
  14. Yeah I don't see BHS, DL or any Fargo teams beating either GF team. Those teams will be battling for 3rd and 5th depending on when they have to play a GF team. Not like DL will beat Central, but how have they not even played yet? I'm assuming their game got cancelled during some of the snow storms?
  15. Sure as hell won't be 7-1 this time around. RR is a completely different team than they were earlier this season. I think RR will take them down this time but Central will take EDC and state. Hard not to drop one game all year long!
  16. Not to mention they will be looking for revenge on UND due to getting shut out swept at home. A little more incentive boost for St. Cloud for this series. Didn't help us much against Duluth though I guess! But I agree, this weekend doesn't look like a fun one to me.
  17. It hasn't taken "testy" shots to beat Cam or Tomek this season. I would keep rolling with Hrinks this weekend if I could choose.....but I can't
  18. And even if they could expand by filling out the corners, there's no way in hell it would increase the capacity to 26,000 to 30,000 haha
  19. I think Gersich has pretty much all season long. He doesn't have the hands to make it happen (other than 3v3 Denver goal) but he has done it with his speed. Yes, most of his goals have come from good positioning on rebounds and dirty goals but I have seen him pour the coals to defenders more than anyone else this season. Boeser used to jump the slot from the corner and score at least once every weekend.
  20. I wonder what the scores would have been this weekend if Cam would have played. I'm willing to bet he would have let in more than Hrinks. I like his play lately
  21. Who's the guy ripping on Schloss on his areavoices blog: weekend rewind?
  22. I wouldn't even really be upset if he left if he continues to play this poorly
