  1. good point but there is no reason to cater to a 4 or 5 seed. thats their problem then, get a higher seed and avoid the play in game is how i see it
  2. nah, ill take a high 2 seed instead of losing a game to tech and we lose the miami comparison, miami will lose 1 or 2 games anyways so we will end up with a 1 seed i know what you mean though, if we lost a game to them keeping them as a tuc.
  3. i think its the point of there are ONLY a few that do post some inside info and thats sweet for us to get that info so there isnt a need to question it really. it has nothing to do with other peoples opinions mattering or not. sorry but if thats why people dont post here anymore than thats their problem. its a dang message board and shouldnt be taken that seriously
  4. why wouldnt the 1 seed get the afternoon game as that gives them the extra 3-5 hours of rest for the title game? doesnt make sense
  5. college hockey news bracket breakdown bracket breakdown 2-3-4. Michigan, New Hampshire, North Dakota There's very little New Hampshire can do to lose comparisons to CC or North Dakota, or to win comparisons its currently losing to Michigan and Miami. The only possibility is if North Dakota plays and beats CC, while UNH plays and beats Northeastern or BC. Neither will happen this weekend, but could happen the week after. Assuming this is the top four, then we deal with placement. Colorado College must be in Colorado Springs for the West Regional, by rule. By logic, New Hampshire will be in Worcester at the Northeast Regional. That leaves the other two. At this point, I believe this will come down to whether Wisconsin makes the tournament, and which team, Michigan or North Dakota, ends up higher seeded overall. That's because Wisconsin must be in the Midwest Regional in Madison; and Wisconsin is a likely No. 4 seed. Then we run into what's become a relatively common scenario since the 16-team tournament: Do you "protect" the No. 1 seed? The answer has generally been "yes," and we agree. In other words, the difference between a 4 seed like Wisconsin and a 4 seed like Army is, no offense, pretty big. So if a team like, say, Michigan, is the No. 1 overall seed, it should get "protected" and not have to play Wisconsin in Madison. If that means moving Michigan to the Albany Regional (slightly farther away but still a flight), then so be it. But here's another wrinkle ... North Dakota and Wisconsin are in the same conference. This complicates matters. Now it's not just about protecting Michigan, but also about avoiding first-round intra-conference matchups. In 2003, the first year of the 16-team tournament, this exact scenario happened, and the committee pitted No. 1 overall Cornell against Minnesota State instead of switching Minnesota State to play a WCHA first-round team, or changing its seed. Cornell went ballistic
  6. my drive from the springs back to az was pretty bad as well after the 1-0 loss to denver when god and company lost that game, my grandpa and i bailed out at 3 am from our hotel saying screw this place and drove straight through 12 hours to az. i didnt even realize it until my gpa said wow, you havent said a word in 6 hours then i took over the wheel being the stand up grand son that i am
  7. i was thinking maybe 30-5-2 in that range is that a bit much to ask for cant wait to see him play in the green and white!
  8. so he is not able to release the name of 1 recruit right now that he thought he maybe could have a few weeks back, doesnt mean he doesnt know. is it that big of a deal that we dont know the name of the recruit just because they bring in a 3rd goalie doesnt mean walski doesnt get a few starts. who knows what will happen with the goalies. i wasnt referring to questioning his posts as you are right it is a message board but it should be obvious enough to know that most inside info we get comes froma few posters on ss and they arent going to say where they heard the info from. we know it doesnt work that way. if they did then there wouldnt be any more inside info that we love to read about
  9. i think usa has been psoting here long enough with great inside info without needing to reveal where he hears stuff from. there are a few posters here that give us great info when they can share it so lets keep it that way
  10. great point on the top 2 seeds getting a nice match ups and everything after that is a tough tourney!
  11. sure didnt mean it offensivley at all man, not at all. i would never post like that as i respect everyones opinions agree or not agree and i wasnt directing the post at you either, just kind of saying it in general how i feel about the situation. any team can be taken out at any time is the way i look at it. a 1 seed would be great and i think we can still grab it as i think miami will lose a game or 2 down the stretch and you also sure dont need a 1 seed to get to the frozen 4 as we have proved the last few years. we have been lucky as well like you say and thats part of making runs like they are on without losing. we also can play better and thats good to know! we wont drop below a 2 seed overall. again wasnt directing it personally or taking offense, just rambpling like i always do
  12. you build a resume early, climb up the polls and then once we hit the last couple months its what have you done lately? a loss will for sure drop you in polls and a loss to vermont at that. they have nice wcha wins and they have been rewarded for those with their good pairwise ranking!
  13. didnt say anything about sitting great but i say being in the top 4 rigght now in the nation is pretty damn close to great and thats why i said good. theres many many teams that would die to be where the sioux are yearly and it sure could be a lot worse! i guess thats how you look at things. so who is sitting great if we arent in 4th? the 3 in front of us im assuming. sometimes its time to take a step back and realize how lucky we are as sioux fans to have a team that is always up there. im guessing the only way we are sitting great is many eyes if we are #1 overall like we were last week. its just not that easy especially playing in the wcha weekly against very talented teams. its so dam hard to do what the sioux do every season and especially the last 3 years making it to the frozen 4 over and over. the next step is the title which we all want very badly for the sioux to win obviously and you sure need lucky bounces and puck luck along the way as we all know. cant wait to see what happens this weekend in the wcha and country
  14. gona be a tough games as they always are vs tech but especially tough if 2 of our top offensive/all around players are not playing in tj and chay!
  15. theres no doubt the gophers can make the final 5 but my pick is the mavs in 3. not because i cant stand the gophers hockey team but because i think the mavs are better this season. ive been wrong many many times but just how i see it like all other series
  16. wouldnt that be sweet if your your fans could score goals!
  17. gleason is gona be a hell of a player for the sioux and cant wait to see mattson down the road!! thanks for the info and word on that goalie from hill murray or lehrke and college options? if mattson stays for his senior year i say he wins mr hockey next year
  18. they also swept ohio state and wayne state of course at the ucci mankato is a much different team right now like the gophers are with actually having a goalie thats not drunk on the ice so it should make for a nice 3 game series going the way of the purple cow in OT
  19. that site does blow! the teams we want to keep an eye on are the other 3 top seeds and miami. i say mich state goes on a run and wins their tourney over mich or miami
  20. man i wish i was back , if so i would be in for sure!!
  21. i agree but it does help to know what flips what and so forth for the last weekend when a 1 seed is on the line. it will make you go crazy trying to break it all down but for many teams that are on the bubble its very nice to know whats up around the country and its also nice to know who we want to win or lose so thanks to the people that know whats up regarding the pwr!! the sioux are in a great spot right now so keep the W's coming and all will be good
  22. good to hear as that comes with him busting his ass through the last few season!
  23. i agree regarding the 08 goalie unless there is someone out there they really like of course which could be the case. good post
  24. i think my head is going to explode with all the pairwise implications
  25. not wrtiting walski off at all and they could go that route as well next season. ive heard both ideas but lets be real about walski. he got 1 start vs bemidji in the end of a 50 plus game start streak for phil. aaron has been a hell of a team guy as a 3rd stringer most of his career which he knew he would be but he wont be starting next year on a nightly basis unless eidsness pulls a 07-08 frazee. its not a knock on aaron so save those comments as i have nothing but respect for aaron and what kind of a teammate he is but just stating the obvious on his spot on the team. it will be interesting to see which way they go. get another goalie for 08 or wait til 09.
