I have been wearing my Andy Schneider game worn away jersey over my "I am not hostile or abusive" t-shirt since the recent winning streak started. I will continue to wear them until April 8th when we complete the streak by taking home the FIGHTING SIOUX's 8th National NCAA division 1 hockey title!

Well it is big enough for both my son and I to get into at the same time, maybe that will be the only way to protect such a piece of hockey history.

Maybe I will let my son where it, I don't think he would take it from an 18 year old football player!

Is Andy Schneider currently playing hockey somewhere? I purchased his 03-04 away jersey Friday night and would like to see if I could get it autographed.

We sit next to the students in section 107 and enjoy watching Diggler do his thing every game. The energy the students bring to the arena must not be lost. I thought they did a great job last weekend. The problems being discussed are not new and hopefully a solution can be found so that everyone can enjoy our great hockey program. I am a long time supporter of the Fighting Sioux, the nickname and the logo. However after much soul searching I am to the point of saying, lets honor the honorable. I would like to suggest the Imperials. The definition of Imperials fits the University of ND and it's athletic teams. It also honors Ralph Engelstad and his contribution to the university. Since it is not an Indian name, the NCAA would not be able to restrict it's use during tournement play and the Ralph and teams would be able to use the current logo for everything other than NCAA playoffs. No longer would the Indians have a complaint as their name would no longer be associated with UND. It is time to move forward and put this issue behind everyone, could this be a solution?

Booked rooms at Radisson last night for $79 which includes a $15 cert for breakfast. Thought it was a good buy. I understand that UND stays here. Should be a great time! Will be booking room at Best Western in St. Cloud for Saturday night. Thanks everyone for the help!

Best Western in Duluth or St. Cloud?

Does anybody have any info on the Raddison in Duluth? Which would be a better choice with a family, Holiday Inn or Raddison. I checked on the Hawthorne Suites but they were booked. Also, where is best place to stay in St. Cloud? Will only be able to make the Sat. night game.

I purchased 15 and have been handing out to family and friends. It is time to draw a line in the sand and say "enough". Let's move forward and let the NCAA know that they are over the line. Sioux Forever!!!!!!!

I tried calling direct and ticket office said I had to purchase in person or on ticketmaster. She also said tickets were going fast and the MN/MN Duluth game was already sold out by the time I called shortly after 11:00 a.m.

The only acceptable name other than Sioux would be the Chiefs. Logo stays and name honors the Hanson Brothers. Everyone should be happy!

Now is the time to look at D1. It will give UND time to work through the process, both legal and emotional. Hockey team could use an alt. jersey for playoffs and other programs would have probationary period to satisfy.

Scheels has offical Nike jerseys which are based on actual sizes. The sizes run huge. I would give that a try. $200 a jersey. I believe the Ralph carries them as well.

Article in Herald said not sure if replacement would be hired or if duties would be split up among other staff members.

Can anyone confirm Ralph Engelstad's quote from the REA's opening night? I believe it was "May this logo and nickname live forever". I am planning to have t-shirts made with Sioux Forever on the front and quote on back but want to make sure the quote is correct.

How do you "work something out" with an ever changing minority that believes it represents it's majority?

Hopefully the Spirit Lake tribe will cave to the political pressure and withdraw any support of the Fighting Sioux nickname. Once that is done, Indians (not Native Americans, since anyone born in America is a native American) will no longer have any influence on the UND nickname issue. UND can then move forward with yesterday's NCAA appeal. With the tribe support issue taken out of the appeal process the NCAA's decision will stand on it's own merits. When the appeal is granted, we can put this issue behind us once and for all!
