Not focused on the stadium really but what's behind..... my kids are absolutely going here if the university ends up getting THIS big of a facelift. Much better use of the parking lot. Unreal concept

You must have not had their chips and queso. Pancheros is king there.

Moe's is awesome- probably an unpopular opinion if it hasn't been mentioned yet.

if you put ely's ivy in the old sanders building (rhombus pizza) without the second floor and rooftop they would do just fine tho....their current spot is just too big and it looks bad when you have 10 people in a restaurant that sits 100 or more.

Been twice - last year a couple weeks after it opened and again for graduation back in May. Second visit was much better than the first, but only food wise. They were waaaaay understaffed, to the point where I was empathetic for the server only being able to come around once every 20 minutes. The offering is unique much like the Frog's, giving the restaurant a lot of potential- just seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot in the way that they're trying to establish the brand.

Makes you wonder how much influence siouxsports.com has.  I mean sure other teams have historically accurate championship banners with multiple logos on them (Boston Bruins was mentioned here).  But, it does make you wonder if someone at the REA saw this thread and brough the idea up to the higher ups at the REA.  Who knows.  We may have had a part in making this happen!! ;)  Or maybe Mafia's 2 emails a day for the past 4 years finally broke Jody Hodgeson into ending the madness and shutting him up and making the change!! :D

Either way, I think it was an awesome move.  Finally a logo issue at the REA that the majority of us can agree on!!

It's too hard to tell if this is serious or a joke.

Saint Thomas is an academic focused school that is not going to move up to d2 - d1.

It goes without saying that their endowment could influence, if not support the transition, "academic focused" or otherwise. Not to mention, this prospectus has a possibility of creating quite the buzz among its alumni base and the greater Twin Cities area as an already prominent household institution. Solid education supported by one hell of an athletic experience. Maybe not right now, but the idea is attractive long-term. I wouldn't let your definitive pessimism get in the way too much.

I was reading last night- very exciting development. Even if it's a number of years down the road, it would be a welcomed move in an opportunistic expansion market.

Any idea on the state of operation/accessibility for the building that's currently standing? Plenty aware of the other workspaces that can be utilized in MU's place (Columbia Hall, Law School, CFL, most other buildings)...throwing a complete halt on the project seems unnecessary. $336/yr means a lot more to college students and their parents than it does us alumni and/or community members, but there's a reason the vote happened AND passed.

Fun fact: I my 10 years of living in the area, never been to Taco John's. What am I missing? Better or worst squirts then Taco Hell?

Taco Tuesdays, 6 pack and a pound, Ole's... tough to remember a good experience at the Grand Forks TB. Taco Johns is pretty consistently on their A-game up there.

For what an illegal listing of a jersey. I told you I sold it to a guy for $45. Do you want his name and Phone#???? I will give it to you right now.

Not sure anybody said your activity was "illegal" at all, because it's not. It is deceptive and dishonest, and we're holding you accountable to that so people aren't misled going forward.

I decided I didnt want it....It cost me $55 with shipping. I ultimately sold it to a guy here in fargo for $45. Guess someone got butthurt i listed it so high, my bad and I sincerely apologize for that price. Again i bought ONE jersey just for the hell of it. GOt it and it didnt fit in my collection. Ended up losing $10 on it. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! and flattering that people are so concerned with my every move. This site is getting to be tooooo much for me. Its not fun anymore its just people whining and bitching like little kids. Go cyber bully someone else and run them from the room like you just did me. Im freakin out of here, goodbye!

Holding somebody accountable is much different than cyber-bullying.

You must be fun to hang out with. Dont ever bring up my name again. You have no clue what you are talking about, and are lacking knowledge yourself crazy man.

You're disgracing the logo and tradition that we all love so, by ripping people off with fake product. It doesn't get much deeper than that. Among everybody that even seldom posts on these forums, I can confidently tell you that most every different variation of the jersey worn by the team at whatever point throughout history is owned by many, hence why this topic exists. People want to own genuine Sioux apparel and memorabilia, and when production channels become limited and lesser, we go to greater lengths to acquire. You try to establish credibility elsewhere to undermine the intelligence of not only those you're marketing to, but others who care much more deeply than you with MANY years of expertise and the ability to call out authentic vs fake. Save yourself, along with those here and your [unfortunately] misled customer base, the trouble, grief and embarrassment. In my relatively short time on this earth I've learned the greatest weakness is covering weakness up. It's always nice to make a quick buck, sure, but we refuse to do business with somebody clearly lacking integrity. Nobody's going to stop you, but we would suggest (and respect) that you approach in the future with a hell of a lot more honesty than you have in the past.

Place isn't big enough to have a kitchen, but they serve America's best selling beers and host a spew of the most hockey chatter in the nation, sometimes even with hockey players.

Pizza and quite the spread of merch for a townie dive. Atmosphere hasn't changed a bit since Oxford took over.

    Kenedy’s fault

There are few things I agree with what he did/has done as our president, and this is one of them. As a grad from the last handful of years, it became clear that the university needed a ridiculous amount of modernizing and I'm glad he was aware enough to allocate spend for all of these projects, given consideration to attendance/student body numbers being in limbo over the last decade. Really looking forward to all of the face-lifts coming in the next few years, especially to the CFL, Union and Gamble.

These posts usually start wars on our board, the 'these are just kids' crowd vs. the 'these guys are getting free educations and should be open to criticism' crowd.

Of course half of us think we're smarter than the leaders and coaches and they should be following our advice

I'm not calling them kids nor do I defend the argument behind that group of thought. I'm also not sensitive to and for them either. They aren't boys anymore and they came to college to pursue hockey now above all else, whether or not hockey ends up being their forever. All I'm saying is the guys are aware of what the fans think and the criticism (again, along with praise) is taken to heart.

Who’s mentality do you speak of?

As a fan, mine and yours, and everyone else  on this forum, our mentalities have zero effect on the outcomes of games and seasons.

Don’t make the jump of a fan’s mentality vs a mentality of a program trying to make this point as your opinion is likely far from fact. I’m sure you’ve been in the locker room all year to know too. (What did you call this? Oh yeah, sarcasm)

Was friends with a few of the guys, and had classes with even more, who played on the '13-'16 teams...... you'd be surprised. They are aware of SS and the scrutiny (or praise) they receive on this board. SS is just as accessible to them as it is to all of us. And believe it or not, there's emotional sincerity driving their appreciation for us fans,  be it personally, in an interview or whatever the mode is.

Before the program gets cut this sprung due to underachieving let's keep in mind a couple of things.  This team came to play every night, unlike a lot of teams in the past.  They weren't the most talented but their effort should never be questioned.  This team had no high end scoring.  That left when Jost left two years early and Gersich was run out of town last season. Every single coach has had high scoring recruits that do not produce at this level. Anyone remember Wed Dorey?  The high end talent on this team is in the defensemen not forwards.  Do we have any high forwards on the horizon?

Remember in 2016 when the Ralph didn’t host a watch party because of a wedding? What were those people thinking? How selfish!

As great as it would have been to pack the Ralph for the natty, I can't imagine being anywhere else but downtown GF for the game. One of the best nights of my life, as I'm sure many others can say.

    Um, no, it's not.

Scenario 1 says 40 wins in year 1 (national championship) and 49 wins in the remaining 3.

Scenario 2 says 34 wins in year 1 (national championship) and 56 wins in the remaining 3.

'You're correct, my mistake. Was looking at and focused on the percentages of the 40/89 or 34/90. Not sure what led to it. Thanks for the clarification.

    2016:  34

    2017:  21

    2018:  17

    2019 (thus far):  18

The actual total is 34 in 2016 and 56 (again, thus far) in the next three seasons.  It might not be 40 out of 89 as erroneously reported, but 34 out of 90 is not much better.

    It's worse.

Do not like how the trend of this program is going. Changes need to be made. Coaching, recruiting it all needs adjusting. I know Berry is a great guy but I don’t think HC is a right fit for him. It really makes me miss the times we had Hak as a coach. He was very consistent and his teams came to play and were for the most part disciplined.

Sincerely, I'm not picking on just this post but those of the like that have been coming in waves over the last two months....

Clinging to these very broad topics that are obviously catalysts for change without granular suggestion for improvement, is simply wasted space. At the end of the day, we all want a better team. The construct of that better team is up to our coaching staff, who are paid professionals brought into our program for a reason. Be it conversion rates on the PP, strategic and efficient line orientation/combinations, getting up and down the ice via breakouts and zone play structure..... so many things go into smart play. Talent this year is lacking relative to years past, but that isn't to say it's not there at all. I don't disagree that we have other deficiencies (could be in our staff, sure) and changes need to be made, but statements similar to the quoted above are and have been awfully frustrating. We aren't a team without coaches, and games aren't played without our athletes. Everyone is responsible for the execution and requires, at the very least, a reciprocal effort.

On the bright side, we have the top face-off winner in the country by a long shot in Rhett, which is a respect that will be sorely missed but hopefully a role that can be filled and evenly distributed in the coming years. A majority of our current roster has promising potential, and that coupled with incoming recruiting classes is an exciting prospect for our beloved program. It's a down year, but far from the "demise" as some would suggest.

Until then....let's do our best to enjoy this final stretch. It's not over until it's over. The negative energy leads to the lower.
