Each college is being directed to finalize their plans for a reduction in appropriated funds by 12 percent. Reduction targets in support areas of 12 percent. Athletics has been asked to find ways to cut $1.3 million, not a percentage. As I see it here, it's a reduction in appropriated funds, not reduction in total expenditures. A Dept is lump sum, not giving %. The $1.3 in the A Dept is a small piece of the UND pie.

I don't fully understand what that poster meant by that. I wouldn't think that would be an annual thing, maybe like an initial membership charge to join. To me it would be more like, if you want us, help us with our bail money to get of the NCHC?

Getting the Summit on board was a cake wake. Getting the MVFC on board was a challenge. Took some time and a lot of work behind the scenes. The Summit members in the MVFC helped us. The verdict was in the GF Herald before the presidents of the MVFC voted. Job well done. Getting the B1G and UND to agree on UND joining the B1Ghc is a huge undertaking. This time we are potentially being asked, but as an affiliate. The UND side has a small table in their huddle, and can make decisions relatively quickly. Quickness ends there. The B1G's huddle needs a ball room, with discussions and messages sent to home bases. And, many meetings. Of the 14 full members, 8 don't have Div I hockey. They don't want to start it, probably don't care much about it, probably don't care how much money each of the B1G6hc make/loose on hockey, probably resistant to UND getting money out of B1G in away, and etc. Lot of speculation there on my part. John Hopkins and Notre Dame joined as affiliates without a media demand with the BTN, they'll take care of their own home games, pretty clean. May not be that way with UND, we can walk away, but we really don't want too. We need some solid agreements in place to make this move, many of which prior posters have mentioned.

They publicly announced last summer the ASU was not a choice. They want an 8th team, which is us, Duluth and Omaha are negotiating tools.

Yes, affliate of the B1G hockey conference. Notre Dame (affliate) wanted to keep it's own advertising rights and did. UND might want to get in on B1G's advertising part for hockey????

We go after research $, Being in the B1G which is the biggest organized research machine in the country, should help us. Like hanging around the right crowd. The reseacrh part of the B1G most likely won't be availble to us, but we'd be going in the right direction.

There seems to be more support here now than there was last spring. This is huge for UND, have to join with the right terms. Also good for the U in general, potential for more research. Pres. Kennedy is the right guy for this job. He'll make his legacy with this move.

They'll be a near top favorite at the beginning of the season. JM will come out #1, Then season will to be played. U won't be #1 like last year......

Barely winning some games. Rivalry teams are closing in. Loosing coaches for more $. Still maybe seeded, but potential to loose a road game in playoffs. I've made many comments about a B1G move could be good for UND last spring and still have arrow wounds healing in my back. Sad case here could be that if we don't accept the B1G with reasonable terms, someone else will, and then where does that leave us?

Right, the B1G might get onto WH TV down the road if they ever go WH in the B1G.

The highlighted, never said that, the team as a whole (players & coaches) isn't as dominant. (example, they don't have a NFL #2 draft pic at quarterback). They're not over whelming most teams like they used to, and of course JM came along.
