  1. Isaac. DE
  2. Must have missed that. I was gone for about 1/2 hr towards the end but did return. Hopefully it isn’t to bad. Und has been on the unfortunate side with injuries or defections at particular positions over the years. Fingers crossed
  3. Just his opinion. He is entitled to an opinion like everyone else. Not sure you can call it pessimist. Until they prove otherwise....und is under .500 win percentage in the d1 era. So a 6-5 record ups the average . Add to that they have the toughest schedule in the FCS......all factors in his decision. BTW....I think he has done a great job this year of covering the football team .
  4. Made it to practice today. Good number of fans made it out. Caleb was suited up ...nice to see Overall the athleticism is definitely an upgrade from years past Really wish Moore was 25 lbs heavier. He is just a freak athletically. Perfect position would be OLB ....he would be a terror Devore was sitting this practice ....doesn’t look major Not much else to speak of that hasn’t been spoken of already 2 weeks baby!!!
  5. Really disappointing news. That leaves only 1 upperclassmen.....Bennett . Keeping him healthy is an absolute must. 1 senior zero juniors. Simply by numbers ....there will be a few true freshman that will play big minutes. What has always been a strength to the team could possibly be a detriment. It’s the unknown with 9 of the 12 DL being freshman.
  6. Lol. That’s good, I like it!
  7. I feel the staff does not prioritized the qb recruiting. As it stands right now.....next year will be jun-Grover and fresh schuster with no commits and 1 offer on the table. Yet they have hand fulls of offers for every other position. IMO, emphasis or priority is given to other areas. Of course there will be times when another area is depleted and in need....I get that . It’s just been 5 year and counting. I don’t think the style of offense (run) is the issue. When looking around the fcs many “heavy” run teams , including the team to the south , have done a good job of recruiting qbs. Triple option teams as well. These teams are deep at Qb. How many times has a 3rd or 4th string qb for an opposing team lit up und. Teams stack up qbs knowing the possibility of injuries or defections. But yeah Rudy ball was embarrassingly inept .....pretty sure recruits noticed. Hoping freund can change that! Regardless.....I’m excited for this year.
  8. I agree with this. Not sure who would of ever wanted to play for Rudy ball Seems like a perennial discussion on this board (including me) that say und should recruit a Qb in that years recruiting class. The staff has done a great job for the 2020 class ....but yet again no qb. Always seems like a last minute scramble. Hope a freund run offense will open recruits eyes.
  9. No evidence at all. I’m not affiliated in any manner with the team. Huge fan is all. I would like to hear some evidence they DID prioritize .
  10. Fun as hell to watch. Between him and dressler....that offense kept you on the edge of your seat at the anticipation that one of them two was about to take it to the house. Too bad we couldn’t of seen him play 4 years
  11. I think it’s in everyone of us to look ahead ...to a certain degree. But looking at positional breakdown of this years group is interesting . DL - 2 seniors, 0 jun, 2 soph, 9 freshman ( 6 of which are true ). VERY YOUNG!! cb- 1 sen, 1 jun, 1 soph....the rest are freshman. outside of those two positions the rest have a great combination of upper class/ young talent. For up coming seasons.....recruiting a qb should be priority #1. That hasn’t been the case
  12. Fort wasn’t a steal .....had numerous D1 offers.....including the “almighty” buffalos. My feeling is you put the best talent out in the field. Santiago and Grady had their shirts pulled and were the difference makers that year. Fort is a difference maker IMO. Major asset to the ST crew and cb position.
  13. Teeder has already responded and agree with his assessment. I would guess he is maybe in the 3 deep. Holm and blubaugh starters , Fort (most talented) and Siegel next with Odom and Dominique. Be interesting to see what the coaches do.
  14. Fort is a special player. He is ready now. Has the size, foot mechanics, speed, hips, quickness and field awareness. IMO ...no way they keep his shirt on. Very mature for a true fresh.
  15. He is 1 of 5 vying for the spot. I say it goes to Fort.
  16. Any idea if he was injured last year? Noticed on Saturday he came up a bit gimpy on the east sidelines making a stop Obviously was a non issue. If he truly has a chip on his shoulder, as far as I’m concerned, that brings out the best in an athlete. Beast mode!!!!!
  17. Good call. Not sure how/why my comment about Shannon was deleted? Fat fingers I guess Anyways....what I had written (or thought I had) was that “Shannon attacks with his quickness.” “Another good one” I have really liked his play since he has arrived at und and actually thought he would be starting opposite of canady last year.
  18. OLB depth - Jaxson is a beast and haas is long and active. Just not comfortable with depth. Safety- comfortable with the group but it seems as there is no true stand out. canady is a junior and can cover ground fast. Kadon has a 1980s safety mentality....seek and destroy! Nelson is good. Shannon Just no Reyes type player. The “learning curve” for this group has been documented as they return a lot of mins played between them. Freunds in game decisions. It’s a wait and see detail that will be on display for everyone to see vs drake and then more importantly ....vs ndsu. Been said numerous times but this is his first go at any level as OC. Anything is an upgrade from Rudolph but to what extent. Looks good in practice so far....and they have talent to work with so we will see ST- Kostich NEEDS to get this area sealed up! It’s been without a doubt embarrassing. Way more experience this year then last which in itself should be an upgrade. The “concerns” might end not being any concerns in the end until we see actual game time play. Can’t wait!
  19. Another beautiful day. Unds depth and talent at cb is very impressive. Blubaugh has looked fantastic. Fort will no doubt have his shirt pulled an will be a very important contributor. Holm, as we know, is a great player and Caleb, Odom Siegel....wow!! My boy Jaelen J was lined up with the starters today. He’s going to be a good one. Beech is not ready. Keep his shirt. He is not explosive enough And doesn’t seem to initiate contact. Big dude tho Lickfelt is an animal. Tad undersized but plays football the way it should be played on D ....aggressive with an attitude. Big motor.! Kadon plays the same way as lickfelt. Fun to watch a different styled offense then the last stagnant five years . The starting D should be a top tier unit in the FCS. The talent is there. The depth however is a question mark at certain positions. Hope for a healthy season. Bubbas best unit in his tenor mentioned it yesterday....McKinney is set for big time! Having watched a couple practices now I am expecting big results this year !!
  20. Jaxson has gained considerable weight (muscle). Big dude!! He will be a menace for opposing offenses for sure.
  21. Beautiful day. Great to hear the sounds of football again! McKinney will be an all American before he graduates. Fort will be a difference maker this year Isaac Moore .....great football body (athlete) and explosive. Under sized (6’1” 210) for DL but would be a perfect fit at OLB. Future stud watched the OL as much as I could ......looks like some zone blocking as they shared responsibilities at contact then rubbed off to the backers.
  22. That’s why I mentioned that. If they are indeed going to zone blocking they should be alright. Need to get out to a few practices and witness first hand.
  23. Looks like the OL are about 20-30 lbs too light. If und is indeed installing zone blocking in the new offense they should be alright. Typically OL outweigh the opponents front. Might not be the case this year.
  24. Mason Bennett.....beast and a class act ! Great young man to represent a team!
  25. If I’m not mistaken he blew out his other knee in High school. Both knees have been torn. A lot of stress on the knees at the DE position when considering every play the guy across from you leans his 300+lb body on and your trying to get edge positioning.
