Unfortunately, we have a legislature in ND who are ass backward on things along with being powerhungry. All of us can see the harm this particular law does but the legislature cannot. Leaders like Skarpohl especially like these type of laws and hey'd like a few more because they're thinking on a 1975 level and it is2016

Excellent point> I'll keep my fingers crossed

Since you are on the inside on this stuff can you tell us if there is anything to a rumor I heard that some students who are angry about the nickname fiasco would shout racist remarks at Grady on campus?
-
This is terrible news on so many fronts. This young man would have grown tremendously over the next three years here and opportunities would have opened for him no matter where he decided to go and what to persue. A huge loss for the team also. I couldn't help but think of Chappel when I heard this news. I don't know what all entered into this defection but it is, i'll call it a lack of a victory, for Bubba to not have solved this one for a better outcome.

If potential recruits are at a game and experience this it won't likely be seen as something positive by them.

Some people are just entitled. Kudos to the Hearld for actually reporting pertinent info to us commoners -
It cost the program, no doubt about it. What Dale gained was around 100 grand a year at a respected and established D1 program. I'm sure this stint didn't end how dale was hoping but to say he gained nothing is short sighted. Now we are respected and established too but at the time we were in transition in the Great West conf. and paying a lot less.
-
I think that is what happened too. Dale didn't apply for the job, SIU came to him

I never thought much of Faison hiring one of his buddies from his former job for a volleyball coach. He fielded a great volleyball team but getting a dui and losing his liscense and then continuing to drive the team around in the van without a liscense till he does a hit and run in Portland when he's badly hungover is a black mark on Faison. Faison says he didn't know that coach didn't have a liscense as if some get to keep their liscense after getting a deewee. I developed some opinions about Faison over that deal. I also wasn't impressed with the Mussman tenure and have questions about Jones too. Long post for me!

Dale's a great coach but I've always felt that Carbondale wasn't the greatest fit for him. The culture is enough different there as compared to where he came from. His recruiting andcoaching would go better in the Dakotas or montana.

UNI has a history of having a talented team in the playoffs, the kind that might win it all, and then losing to Lehigh or some other non skolly inferior team, often on their own field. UNI looks hard to beat now but Portland will probably do it.
-
UNI has to get by Portland before thinking about the bison. The bison might make it by the griz if their dline plays well.
-
I'm looking forward to the portland game. I'll tell you next week what order these teams go
-
SUU did have a generous schedule but they took care of it. You only play the teams on the schedule. I like Gustafson as a QB, the concern being that he isn't mobile much at all. He's great as long as the OL protects him and their receivers are good too.
-
They won the conference, didn't they? I'm wondering if the griz with their #1 qb are the best.
-
Are you?
-
the more Illinois teams in, the likelihood of more bus trips. That may be their quality win
-
That's an interesting fact if it's true
-
With 8 wins, were in ahead of other BS teams. What the committee did isn't really all that shocking as these comittees are often times political with some members favoring certain conferences etc but there is often debatable issues letting one team in over another like the massy or sagarin ratings that many level headed people won't see the same way. Those on the committee get to decide though and I doubt the NCAA brass had a talk with them concerning UND. My thoughts.
-
Finishing the season strong is supposed to count for something but it seems to come down to the mood and attitude of those on the committee
-
every fan base has a few of those
-
Ugh! Another hostile announcer! Where do they find these abusers?
-
My prediction too

nothing like stating the obvious

Never hasw been a strength this year
