  1. Yeah Forecheck were you and I on the same wing freshman year? You almost had that cop kick you out last night....yelling your "horse@*%$" about a Mason call. Will I see you at the Final Five??
  2. Don't worry, I was just giving you a hard time. I probably do look like A forecheck. I do have a few signs up my sleeve for the final five, but who knows if they'll be seen if the Minnesota people are doing all the coverage. They wouldn't want to make their already bad gophers look worse! For sure "Minnesota: Land of 10,000 excuses" will make the trip. Oh how I can't wait to hold that one up again!
  3. I was the girl, and yes I do post on this board although not too frequently...I can never seem to find enough time to be on here as much as I would like. I guess people have seen me in the student section at all the games and have enjoyed a few of the signs I've made. I'm sure there are plenty of other people just as deserving as me, however. In the bags (for whoever asked) was a UND athletics t-shirt, Sioux Illustrated hat, Sioux Illustrated magazine (the latest issue), a WCHA/Sioux puck, an I love Sioux pin, posters of Bochenski and Parise, a nice UND thermos, and $25 to Dagwoods. I think that was all of it. I was quite surprised, actually, that they gave away that much stuff free...usually pretty rare at the Ralph... By the way, what did you mean by the girl getting the award looked like a Forecheck? I'm assuming Forecheck herself is beautiful so I'll take that as a compliment unless proven otherwise.
  4. What did Bochenski say about the trumpet guy? And while I'm asking, what did anyone who was at the game think of him? I thought it was something new and different, and it actually involved the fans more than anything else they've tried this year. Will we see this happening again next season (or something like it)?
  5. On the back of my student season ticket (and I would think on the back of every ticket), the last paragraph states: "Management reserves the right, without a refund for any portion of the ticket purchase price, to refuse admission to or eject any person whose conduct is deemed by management to be disorderly, who uses vulgar or abusive language or who fails to comply with these or other management issued rules. Breach of any of the foregoing will automatically terminate this license."
  6. I believe this is the game that is supposed to be on CSTV. Don't know what channel that is, nor if tomorrow's game will be televised anywhere, though.
  7. I'll chant it, and try to get the people around me to do it as well. I sit in 107 G right by the tunnel that the refs come out of...I go to the games with about a half dozen other people who don't like to yell the current chant during the opposing lineups so I don't think it will take much convincing. Maybe someone could work their way through 107 and 108 before the game and let everyone know that's the plan of attack.
  8. Great, another idiot who joins just to cause trouble and make us hate UW fans even more. If you can't feel good enough about your team without taking cheap shots at other teams, you need serious therapy. If you were confident enough that UW will get somewhere this year you wouldn't crawl over to our site to gloat about the one good weekend you had. Go talk about your sweep on your own message board with someone who actually is delusional enough to agree with you that your Badgers actually have a shot at a title.
  9. Vanek is a great player. I've witnessed it with my own eyes. Except he likes to be in the right place at the right time. He's getting good at hanging out at the blue line instead of playing a little thing we like to call defense. He only uses speed to his advantage when he has a chance to score, instead of a chance to maybe stop the other team from scoring. And yeah I guess I would like to compare him to Parise. And if Parise were Vanek's size I'd take him in hearbeat over Vanek. At least Parise works 110% whenever he's on the ice and isn't always concerned with himself. Parise has just as much speed as Vanek. Skill too, for that matter. Here's an idea: watch your idol Vanek away from the puck, then watch Parise away from the puck. Parise has more skill than any player I've seen this year. So he's small, that's his downfall. I'd rather have my downfall be height and stature than heart and work ethic. If Vanek can show me he's a two-way player I'd be more inclined to consider putting him on the pedastel you already have him on.
  10. Hey now, don't put words into my mouth here. I didn't even mention Parise and Bochenski. I wasn't implying that one of them is the best, just that currently Vanek isn't. And I'm not a math major here, so could you help me out? If Vanek was drafted #4, doesn't that mean that 3 people are better than him? Also, I was just saying "this year/right now"....which is what I thought you wanted me to do - be in the present, not the past. Although who are you to talk, frankly, since that's all you gophers do is remind everyone of who won the last 2 years. Well, here's a news flash: it's a new year, and it's not gonna be yours.
  11. The difference is that Minnesota made it their goal to stick to players from their state. We never claimed to be an "All-North Dakota" team. You want to win, you make it your goal to find the best players, which is what both teams have done in the past years. Minnesota just got smart and looked outside their border. By the way, I'd be willing to bet that if you asked sportswriters, coaches, hockey gurus, etc. from all over the country who is the best player in the country right now/this year Vanek wouldn't even be the choice for half of them.
  12. I love how you joined this site TODAY just so you could rip on the Sioux. Get a life, go find your own team's site that you can cloud with things you only think are relevant. University of Canada? Wow, you are really grasping aren't you? 5 guys from Canada....everyone knows Canada produces some of the best players, why not let em play for a good team? You've got a couple "non-USAers" yourself...a Nova Scotian and an Austrian. I guess you stay true to your jersey but have a "except if they're really good and can help us win" clause hidden somewhere.
  13. I just love how it takes a series where UND gets swept and Minnesota first narrowly beats Bemidji to get the gopher faithful to come out from the rock they've been hiding under and talk smack. Whoopdy doo, you beat Bemidji, and UND lost to a top 10 team. Heck, our fellas might as well just quit now and forfeit all remaining games because the mighty gophers have this one in the bag. Need I remind you, Golden Gophs, that your playoff chances are not firmly within your grasp yet? You of all people should know (judging from your team's run this year) that one weekend does not a hockey team make (or break, for that matter).
  14. Here's a few others: For the penalty box (if 2 Tigers in at once): "No, I will not make out with you!" -gotta love that line from Billy Madison Using CC, "Crappy College" or any variation of that... Too bad we have to be PC, cuz something about Sioux eating Tigers for dinner would be kinda funny....
  15. I have the "Minnesota: Land of 10,000 Excuses" sign sitting in my garage just begging to be used. I'll send it with my family if I can't make it to the cities.
  16. TH is talking about the no-call...wonders if it may have been the momentum shift we would have needed. So...any thoughts on who's in goal against CC on Friday? (I'd hate to be on the ride home from WI....yikes.....)
  17. I'm going back and forth from here and uscho. As of yet no hayday. Although UNDLAW did post a nice thread entitled "#1 Ranking: you can have it..." which I found pretty humorous. 13 weeks at #1 ain't bad, folks. Our boys will bounce back. No worries.
  18. The pep band doesn't fall under the athletic department, it falls under the music dept. And yes, cheerleading is a sport at UND, believe it or not. And just for the record, the football team has habitually had one of the best GPA's of sports teams at UND for the past few years.
